When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. “Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

Beside Alexandra, Caleb immediately sat up much straighter than usual, his body became tensed. He reached for the remote, turning off the television and the place became silent in an instant. He turned to face her, matching her gaze as he gave her his full attention. His dark eyes were wide and he had one hand on her thigh, he could feel his heart beating faster at that moment as the different possibilities flooded his mind.

"What? What did he say? Did he give you any trouble?" He asked, throwing question after question, immediately concerned about her encounter with her ex-husband. He was worried that he might say or do something to harm her.

She shook her head lightly. "He found out that I faked my pregnancy and confronted me about it earlier today," she announced matter of factly like it was nothing, as she appeared unfazed.
