Lucy paced around the dorm room now unable to sleep. Veronika sat up with bloodshot eyes watching her. Lucy felt a bit guilty but there was nothing she could do to stop the fire burning in her and she didn’t want it to stop. 


“Are you not going to sleep again today?” Veronika groaned. 


“How can I sleep? You know everything that’s going on. I have to talk to Celeste and come up with a plan. I’m going to save us both from this governmental catastrophe.” 


“Okay, but why are you also keeping me awake?” Veronika asked, unable to hide the sleep in her voice. Her blonde hair shot up in weird spikes around her head and Lucy could see little creases on Veronika’s face from her pillow. 


“I’m not trying to keep you awake, I’m sorry. You can go to sleep,” Lucy answered, almost jumbling her words, she was speaking so fast.
