Chapter 32: Aleksandr

Lucy felt exhausted between her normal school studies and practicing to develop her ability. It didn’t help that her sessions with Celeste were always into the wee hours of the morning, followed quickly by library research with Noah and Veronika. It had been weeks since she felt like she had really slept and it was starting to creep up on her.

“It’s been almost three weeks and we’ve heard nothing from the council! Are you sure they are even coming here? Maybe there’s nothing to worry about,” Lucy groaned, throwing herself on the chair in front of Celeste’s desk.

Celeste sighed and moved to sit back down on her desk.

“I can’t imagine how tiring this is for you. I’m sure you are very frustrated but we can’t stop training. You’ve improved so much and we can’t stop now.” Celeste paused for a moment and took a deep breath before adding, “The council is coming. They aren’t going to announce themselves or give an explanation of their timing but I promise you they will.”
