First Grudge, First Loss

We should learn not to hold grudges and be positive all the time because life is too short and unpredictable.

The humidity presses down, suffocating, as the air grows heavy.

A stillness falls over the mountain.

The loud rumbling sound of thunder breaking the silence every now and then.

The fierce lighting emanating the long shadows of the gloomy mansion and it's surroundings.

The servants hide in the shadows, doing their very best not to be involved in the conflict going on at the main study upstairs.

BANG!

A door was slammed shut. Not up to complete five minutes, a woman rushes down holding a suitcase. She looked so haggard and enraged with her hair sticking to her body from what seemed to be sweat or water. She stopped at the living room, looking at the children who didn't seem to care about anything. Except one.

Amber ran to hug her mother's leg with hot tears streaming down her face.

"Mummy please don't leave me. Take me with you."

The woman looked at her daughter with sadness and a broken heart. She squatted down to her level and wiped her eyes.

"Don't cry okay? Mummy will come back for you tomorrow morning. I can't take you with me now. Look it's pouring outside heavily and you might get sick. I promise. Okay?" She said.

Amber reluctantly nodded and hugged her mother and then they separated. Never seeing each other again.

....

"Sir here are the images of the traces we found on the ground. She seemed to have crawled away from the car after it crashed. That's why we can't find her body. The chances of her being alive is very little."

The police said adjusting his belt every now and then. Amber's father looked so stressed out and tired. He had aged even more in just two weeks.

Amber ran away from the door in tears.

It's all his fault. If he and that lady didn't fight with her mum then she would still be there.

If he even tried to stop her mum from leaving then they would be okay.

Amber kept running and blaming her dad for everything. She slowed down a little when she saw that she was close to the stairs. But she still tripped on something and fell down the flight of stairs.

"Oh my goodness young miss!!"

"Amber!"

"Amber..."

The voices gradually faded as a huge darkness engulfed her sight.
