CHAPTER 12

At the cemetery, there were only few people consisting of Williams, victor, her distant uncle and Glen clothed in all black.

"May her soul rest in peace." The priest said blessing her corpse and took a step back for Charlotte.

She approached her grandmother's coffin with a rose flower-her hair tied up. Her eyes have been devoid of emotion. She halted momentarily clenching her eyes as she stared at her mother's coffin before shakily dropping the flower on it.

One of her distant uncle followed behind her and tapped her shoulder. She turned to meet his sickly gaze pressing on her.

He dropped a lily flower on her coffin followed by Glen, victor and Williams before they returned to assume his standing position.

Glen approached Charlotte's standing place and tapped her shoulder, she just stood there unresponsive.

The priest said some prayers and there was a sudden down pour of rain drenching them whilst they stood there in agonizing silence.

— — -

They all returned to Charlotte's house for the rest of the day. Charlotte sat in her room with a brooding eyes when her distant uncle from the earlier funeral service, August walked inside.

She did not turn around to look at him but instead responded. "I want to be alone…please leave."

He halted in his step and continued closer to her. "Charlotte my dear niece. We might not get a chance to talk again after today." He said in a hoarse voice relaxing on a cusion in her room.

She turned around to look at him. "Why do you say that?" She inquired puzzled.

"Charlotte…you may not have been enlightened. This family is going to end." He coughs and continued. "We are cursed."

Perplexed, she approached his sitting place. "Please…stop beating around the bush and speak clearly."

He removed his hat that he had on to reveal his scalp that had little hair left on it. He was balding. "Think about it. Everyone is dying from one ailment and the other…it's as if this bloodline wants to disappear." He coughed and relaxed his back on the cushion.

"Am I going to fall ill too?" She held her hand close to her chest and enquired frighteningly.

"…I don't know. I think is an inescapable genetic disease that slowly eats you up at a certain age." He said softly in a dazed expression.

In an agitated expression she continued. "What about your family uncle?"

"They are fine." He stood up and wore his cap over his head. "It's just me…because I came out of this wretched family."

"I hope you somehow don't end up like we, the unfortunate ones." He said in an aggreived grin and walked out of her room.

Hah…I'm so scared right now.

Her heart pounded as she sat on the cushion throwing her head back in displeasure.

"I think Grandma died of old age sickness. This loneliness in my heart…" She muttered to herself with a brooding eye. Tears streaming down her cheeks.

She suddenly heard her room door swung open and turned to look; it was victor.

"Charlotte…I'm sorry for interrupting you. I just wanted to be sure you're coming strong." He said as he approached her sitting place.

Yes…this loneliness…

She stood up and slanted closer to victor in a daze.

"Charlotte?" He called her name perplexed.

She suddenly crashed her lips onto his. His eye widened baffled—but he did not push her away.

She paused and looked him in the eyes—her eyes looked empty. "Fill this loneliness within me."

He paused and gave her a perplexed look before abruptly initiating a kiss on her lips. They smooched for a few minutes—he caressed her body and slowly unzips her dress and it dropped to the floor around her feet. Time slowed down.

They made their way to her bed panting in pleasure. Victor pegged every inch of her body—from her thigh to her breasts. She gasped gaping her mouth from the pleasure. Her breathing increased.

The feeling was new to her and that was the first time she ever let herself give in to her body.

Victor undressed his T-shirt revealing his nicely built body with a spiral tattoo on his waist. It looked like he worked out. He pulled down his pant and pressed his weight on her body.

She suddenly felt a dull pain in her intimate part and gasped groping his shoulder. She moaned uncontrollably as he rammed in and out of her body placing his hand on either of her head on the bed.

She reached for the the blanket beside her squeezing it tightly—leaving rumples on it before groping victor's strong forearm as he rammed into her panting lowly.

She swayed her head from left to right from the feeling and moved her hands to his stomach trying to stop his movements.

— —

She slowly opened her eyes and sat up looking out her window. The night was till quite young—she didn't even know how she slept off.

She looked behind her and saw that victor was fast asleep under the blanket. She only just realized that Williams looked very handsome with his red bleached hair, his thick brows, his piercings and fine jawline.

She carressed his hair and moved to the edge of the bed dropping her feet the the floor. She picked up her dress an wore it in a daze when Glen unexpectedly opened her room door and walked in.

"Charlotte…" he came to a halt at her dishelved appearance. His eyes wandered to the bed and saw Williams half naked on her bed. His face flushed from the realization.

Huh? Did they already…why am I acting so surprised? Is not like we are kids.

Charlotte was so fatigued to react to his presence she just stood there staring at Glen with a brooding expression.

Victor gradually got up with a low groan. "Charlotte?" His eyes widened as he saw Glen in the room with them.

"I'm sorry for barging in like this!" He yelled abruptly and scampered out of her room.

"Why didn't you wake me up. I forgot we didn't even lock the door." He said as he moved to the edge of the bed and dropped his feet on the floor.

Charlotte just stood there quiet.

Victor held her wrist and pulled her close in between his thighs. She jolted out of her thoughts and blinked in realization.

He pressed his gaze from below her. "Charlotte…I don't mind if you use me to your heart content. I want to be here for you." He wrapped his arm around her belly giving her an affectionate hug.

She stared at the top of his red hair in a brooding eyes and pulled him by his cheeks giving him an affectionate smooth. "I want us to become a thing." She whispered softly with a smile.

He chortled out a soft laugh and pegged her stomach. "Thank you…for considering my feelings."

— —

"How's Charlotte feeling as of now?" Williams enquired.

Glen laughed awkwardly due to the scene he just witnessed before running back to the sitting room. "I think she's okay compared to earlier." He said scratching his temple.

"I see…" he pondered for a few seconds with his hands over his mouth. "I also lost my dad when I was in high school."

Glen flinched baffled by William's slippery mouth. He never thought Williams would tell him anything about his personal life anytime soon.

William halted and returned his gaze to Glen guiltily. "Ah…I'm sorry. I guess that was too sudden for you for." He apologized as he thought his conversation wasn't befitting for Glen to hear.

"N…no senior Williams. I didn't mean to become startled. It…it was very surprising for senior Williams to tell me about his personal life." He said lowering his head guiltily.

"I…I don't mind if you tell me about your personal life…and I'm sorry you had to loose your dad…"

Williams let out a throaty chuckle balling his fist to his mouth in amusement. "Glen…you really are amusing you know?"

Charlotte's voice suddenly sounded approaching them.

"Hey guys."

Even though she looked sobered, her voice was still hoarse as if she was forcing her self to look okay in front of them.

Victor followed behind her and as his eyes met Glen's eyes. They both awkwardly averted their eyes. Glen saw them in a compromising manner it's only normal that they would become awkward unless they were utterly presumptuous.

Charlotte sat down in a daze staring at the tray on the table in the sitting room.

"It's getting extremely late…I think I should head home." Williams said interrupting her.

"I don't mind if you sleep over. Besides tomorrow is Sunday…there is a guest room in my house." She said in a hoarse voice and shifted her gaze to Glen.

"I see…take care of me for the night then." Williams said leaning back on the sofa.

"Yes…I will." She let out a soft smile. "Glen you're sleeping over too, right?"

"Ah…y-yes." He responded awkwardly.

"Charlotte. I should head home now. There's something I have to finish. "Victor said as he stood up and picked up his clutch.

"Ah…it's fine. Be careful on your way home..." She said with discontent written all over her face.

"Alright then…see you soon. I'll make it up to you."

He approached the door and paused for a few second glimpsing at Charlotte before slamming the door behind him.

— — -

Williams made his way into the guest room and Glen followed behind him. They were supposed to be sleeping the night.

Williams abruptly paused as Glen locked the door behind them. "Did something happen when you went to check on Charlotte?" He enquired.

"Ah…n-no…not really.." he replied awkwardly once again.

"You looked uncomfortable when you came out and when Charlotte and victor came to the sitting room." He said rubbing his chin. "I'm not the type to probe into matters…but you're too obvious with your behavior, it only makes me concerned."

"I-I promise there's nothing wrong…I'm just not used to victor's presence."

"Ah…I see."

How can he possibly tell him what he saw back there? Is none of their businesses.
