CHAPTER 14

Phil ran after the familiar person swerving through the crowd and bumping into some people who began cursing at him, but he was oblivious to their frivolous remarks. He just wanted to catch up to his long time friend Glen.

He lost them in the crowd and paused with a puzzled expression, a sudden incredulous look emerged on his face.

It can't be possibly him, but what if it is-

His thoughts halted when his eyes met a familiar stature wearing the same clothes as the guy he thought was Glen. He abruptly pulled the guy by his shoulder to reveal the face of a man in his 30s.

"What the hell?" The startled man thwacked his hands off his shoulder. "Who are you?"

The man inquired furiously clutching Phil by his T-shirt collar about to fight him. Phil stood there in a daze jumbling with his thoughts.

"I said who the fuck are you?" The man parroted, enraged by Phil's silence.

Phil suddenly bursted out laughing like a mad man, startling the man. He quickly let go of Phil and scampered away nettled saying "What a weirdo."

Phil held his head incredulously still bewildered. "If that was really Glen, then I have to find out where he stays…even though it's been years I still long for you." He mutterd to himself throwing his head back ward in a daze, staring at the night sky.

He returned back to a bmw Parked at the corner of the streets and got inside with a nettled expression.

"Why do you look like you're about to kill someone?" Henry cocked an eyebrow as he started the car engine.

"I saw something I lost once because of my crazy father."

He exhaled loudly throwing his head back—rubbing his lips in deep thoughts. His corner lips suddenly twisted Into a sudden wicked grin. "I just have to fish him out, shouldn't I?"

Henry stared at Phil with a puzzled expression—cocking an eyebrow. He did not probe in further. Phil looked like something interesting was gonna happen sooner.

Glen suddenly felt shivers coursing down his whole body and wrapped his hands around himself.

"Are you okay?"

Williams arrowed his brow concerned and patted Glen on his back.

"I suddenly had a bad feeling…I don't know why…"

It was the same bad feeling he once felt years back before his family found out about his sexuality and then his father disowned him. Those feeling only just reappeared again. He wished it was all just in his head.

Charlotte ran into glen on her way to her major—she has just resumed school.

"Welcome back charlotte."

Glen greeted her name from behind with a beam on his face and handed her an energizing can drink giddily. His best friend is back on her feet, it's only normal that he would be extremely excited.

"Thank you…but I wish I just didn't push through with school."

She sighed curtly and responded with a nettled expression as she collected the drink from Glen. He was quite surprised hearing charlotte talked indecently for the first in the years that they've known each other.

She noticed he had a bit of a stunned look and halted in realization. She averted her eyes scratching her nape awkwardly. "Oh…sorry. I must've suprised you talking like that.."

"N…not really…"

"Glen!!"

Chloe's high pitched voice interrupted them drawing their attention to her as she approached enthusiastically.

"Chloe…what..brings you here?" Glen enquired.

"Hi!" She waved at Charlotte and continued. "May name is Chloe, Glen's friend."

"Oh…hi…I didn't know Glen made a new friend."

Charlotte responded shrugging her smile and fixed her gaze on Glen. "I should go now, let's talk later."

She patted his shoulder and strode off to her direction.

"Glen…there's something I want to tell you later. Please wait for me at the yard! It's very urgent."

She demanded violently leaning her face close to his in determination.

"S-sure…"

"Then! See you later!"

She said loudly with a beam and scampered to her direction. Glen pondered momentarily about what chloe would want to tell him.

*****

He approached the door of his department hall and came to a halt when he recalled the incident that happened three days ago—his heart thumped anxiously.

What should I do? Would they come onto me like before? Hah…I shouldn't let that bother me just like senior Williams said…but If the incident is to repeat itself…then will I have to stand up for myself?

His thoughts trailed off when he suddenly heard a deep voice behind him.

"Why aren't you going inside?"

He jolted out of his thoughts and looked above him; it was Henry, It's not that Glen was mini sized, Henry was just so tall towering over him.

"You're on the way."

Glen hitched away from the door front to the side anxiously. "S-Sorry."

He glared at Glen with a scowl and took a step forward inside the door before halting halfway to glimpse at Glen again.

"Don't worry, my friends won't bother you. Not in school at least."

He hmphed and strode inside while Glen's eyes followed him as he assembled his seat.

Is what he said just now…true? Maybe he's not so bad after all.

Glen sneakily walked in lowering face to not draw any unnecessary attention to himself, trying his best to stay low.

The lecture was over and all the student scattered themselves around doing one thing or the other. Some exited the building while some chitchatted with Henry.

"Henry! Come on."

Lebron yelled his name as he entered the hall, his eyes unexpectedly met Glen and he frowned giving him an icy glare. Glen immediately deterred his gaze awkwardly and scampered out of the hall lowering his head.

Lebron's glare followed his back till he exited the hall. "Fucking fag." He muttered to himself and approached Henry's sitting place.

"Henry, I told you to come out earlier didn't I?"

****

What Henry said wasn't a lie. His friends won't bother him in school. Glen felt very relieved and remembered that Chloe told him to wait for her at the yard.

He hastily strode off to meet up with her as they have earlier planned.

****

Glen arrived there and saw her waiting for him on the bench in a distance, she arrived earlier than him. He approached closer.

"Chloe…"

She looked up to him nervously which was very unlike her.

"Glen. Here sit with me." She said patting the bench space beside her.

Glen sat down gingerly glancing at her while she fiddled with her hair nervously.

"Are..you ok?…" Glen enquired awkwardly unable to tell why she wasn't being her usual self in the moment.

"Y-yes…" she cooed a nervous smile at him and returned her gaze to the floor anxiously.

Glen leaned backwards on the bench staring at the clear afternoon sky—waiting for Chloe to tell him why she had told him to come out to the yard.

"Glen."

She called his name and he returned his gaze to her hunched over position.

"Do you know why I've been chasing after you?"

Huh? What does she mean?

He was quite perplexed as to what she meant by chasing after him.

"Uh…I don't really understand…If you can clarify me."

"The truth is that, I like you Glen."

"Huh?" Glen immediately became abashed, a girl was confessing to him, something he had never experienced. Unsure on how to respond he said. "What do you mean? Someone like me?"

"What do you mean someone like you? Your a very pretty boy Glen…exactly my type of guys."

She responded quite displeased that Glen thought he wasn't worthy of being confessed to.

She threw her head back on the bench with a flushed expression—her eyes weakened. "I know it is sudden…you don't have to give me an answer now."

Glen was still quite agitated by Chloe's confession. She abruptly held his hands covering her face abashed.

"Come with me for a sec."

She pulled him by his hands—making their way to a hidden corner.

She was about to initiate a kiss on him, his eyes widened, too baffled to react as Chloe's lips approached him. He was quite curious about how it would feel to kiss a girl at the moment.

She slowly approached his lips with hers when William's sullen voice interrupted them.

"What the fuck are you doing Chloe? Have you lost your senses again?"

She hitched away from Glen sulkily.

"Why are you poking your nose in my businesses?" She responded with a taunting smile slightly irritated.

"You're just doing whatever you want. Did you ask Glen if he wanted to kiss you too?"

Williams yelled at her and pulled Glen away from her. Glen was extremely perplexed at what he was seeing, he wonderd why they seemed to have something going on between them.

"How about you stay the fuck out of my businesses?" Chloe yelled at Williams crinkling her face and clenching her fist enraged.

"Hah! Says the one who's all up in my fucking business." He pinched his forehead frustratingly tightening his eyes before returning his glare to her.

"If you're looking for who to fuck with, why not try someone else? I've had enough of your malovelent behavior so fucking put an end to it."

He pulled Glen away by his wrist wearing a very irritated expression as they strode off.

"Hah!"

She chortled out an incredulous laughter as she watched them stride of in the distance, her expression turning dark.

Im not gonna let this be good for you. I promise.

— — —

Once again. His grip unconsciously tightened on Glen's wrist and he winced in pain.

Why is he always so worked up when it has something to do with Chloe?
