A Sense of Crisis

Although both were living in the same house, Ava and Nathan rarely saw each other, partly because Ava intentionally avoided him. This arrangement was exactly what Ava wanted.

After several peaceful days, Ava was very pleased with the situation, but Zoe began to feel restless.

"Ava, I'm really scared. Can I stay over at your place tonight?" Zoe asked, her face pitiful as she leaned on Ava's arm.

"What's wrong?" Ava looked at Zoe, perplexed. Zoe had been paranoid these past few days, to the point where Ava was starting to worry she might be on the brink of a nervous breakdown.

"I've been binge-watching 'The Ten Sins' lately, and now everyone around me looks like a psychopathic killer. I keep feeling like someone is following me!" Zoe wailed.

"If it scares you so much, why don't you just stop watching?" Ava chuckled, glancing at Zoe clinging to her.
