Confrontation

Ava was already exhausted from the constant nausea and now Diana's harsh words only added to her frustration. Despite her irritation, she couldn't let Nathan see her struggle.

Taking a sip of water, Ava forced herself to eat something. Diana's words were harsh, but there was truth in them; she needed to eat for the baby's sake, even if she had no appetite.

"Mom, morning sickness is a normal physiological reaction. It's not something you can just will away. You've been pregnant before, how can you not know this?" Nathan retorted, his tone filled with displeasure.

Embarrassed by Nathan's words, Diana responded, "When I was pregnant with you, I never experienced anything like this."

Nathan wanted to say more, but Ava stopped him with a glance, leaving the meal to end on a sour note.
