Sent Away

Nathan, who had spent the night outside Ava's door, was in a terrible state. Lately, he had been burdened with worries about the company and Ava, all while having to deal with Diana's constant demands, leaving him utterly exhausted. Now, after standing vigil all night, he felt weak and lightheaded, questioning what he was even trying to achieve. Ava wouldn't know he was there, yet he stubbornly refused to leave.

While Nathan was lost in his thoughts, the door suddenly opened. Ava looked up, surprised to see Nathan standing there, looking haggard. Did he really stay outside all night?

"Ava…" Nathan's eyes lit up when he saw her. Ava, with a cold expression, tossed his phone, which he had left behind, at him.

"Grandma called you," she said before turning away and closing the door behind her with a swift, dismissive motion. Her icy demeanor left Nathan feeling a pang of sadness.
