Chapter 4-5

Emma’s POV

"I've prepared it," Oscar took off his jacket, and then handed me a thick stack of documents from the inside pocket.

Despite my discomfort from a high fever, I browsed through the documents and was pleased. "These lawyers are not ordinary. They are worth much more than 80 million and a house."

"Emma, are you planning something?" Oscar asked with interest. It had been four years since I had started working again, and Oscar was happy to see me happy.

"You'll know soon," I replied with a meaningful smile. Oscar knew me well enough not to ask too much. I would have blocked him out if he did.

"But..." Oscar stood up straight and cautiously asked, "Can you really let go of Hector?"

He knew better than anyone else how much I loved Hector.

"So what?" I replied, feeling down. "I'm tired of being Hector's Luna. Now I just want to be me."

Hector’s POV

In The Blood Stone Pack, my parents, Donald Saunders and Fiona Saunders, had completely different reactions when they saw Thea with a big belly.

My mother was very happy, "Great, you are pregnant with the child of the Saunders Family. He will be the future Alpha of the Blood Stone Pack. Since Charles passed away three months ago, I have been crying every day and night. This child must have been sent to save me. You must take good care of it."

In contrast, my father frowned and looked at me angrily, "What are you doing? You and Emma are still mates, but you made another woman pregnant. What will you do with Emma? If it wasn't for Emma's grandfather, who saved your grandfather back then, our family would have been destroyed. " Father got angry, and he wanted to slap me. "I will beat you!"

Thea hurriedly stood between me and my father, "Mr. Saunders, don't be angry. It's all my fault. I shouldn't be pregnant with this child. If you feel troubled, I'll have an abortion tomorrow."

"No, this is the child of our family. You have to give birth to it," mother protected Thea behind her and shouted at my father, "Why are you protecting Emma so much? If she has feelings for Hector, they would have had children long ago. She has made no contribution to The Blood Stone Pack. We have protected her for four years, and it is enough. Hector can decide who he wants to stay with."

My mother looked at me, "Hector, what's your plan?"

I couldn't tell them the truth. It was all about my brother. My eyes fell on Thea's belly, and I said in a serious manner, "Thea has been pregnant for more than three months. This child is from The Blood Stone Pack and needs a decent identity. I have already rejected Emma. After one month, following the tradition about the cool-off period of Alpha reject Luna, I will marry Thea."

My father was still furious, but he knew he could do nothing to me. He sighed and said, "You have always been arrogant and domineering, and no one can change what you decide, except your elder brother. If he is still alive, he may be able to persuade you."

My heart was in pain, like being punched. The atmosphere suddenly became heavy and sad.

Three months ago, my brother Charles Saunders's accidental death brought a devastating blow to The Blood Stone Pack. If time could be turned back, I hoped to gamble my whole life and go back to that night three months ago. That night, I was walking on Newton Street with Charles, discussing the future development direction of The Blood Stone Pack. But we met a sudden attack by rogues. Charles used his body to block the knife with wolfbane that should have stabbed me. Before he died, he said that he found his mate, named Thea. Thea was just pregnant with his child. "Marry Thea, live on for me. Give Thea and my child a complete family."

I would never forget the desperate look of Charles when I held him with bloody hands and pleaded with him. If time could be turned back, I would push him away. I would rather bear this death by myself. Take care of Thea and their kid, that was Charles’s last wish. I had to do it. No one could change my mind.

"If you want to marry this woman, I have nothing to do with you. But you must promise me one thing, or I will sever the father-son relationship with you."

"What?"

"You must hide it from your grandfather. His old wound tortures him deadly, he can't stand this. You know that he has always been caring about Emma and treats her as his own granddaughter. If he knew that you rejected Emma because of a mistress, he would be angry."

I nodded. And my parents left the villa. Finally, the room regained its peace.

I stood by the window on the second floor, staring at the sunflowers in the back garden in a daze. I didn't come to the villa very often, therefore didn't know that so many sunflowers bloomed in the garden. It was quite beautiful. Sunflower was Emma's favorite flower, and I just found it out.

Turning against the wind?

"Emma, are you going to make a comeback?" I muttered to myself.

Thea’s POV

Wow, what a night! My mood fluctuated all over the place like a roller coaster. Despite the attitudes of Donald and Fiona towards me, I only cared about Hector's feelings. Hector was the Alpha of The Blood Stone Pack, and he was admired by both werewolves and humans in Nuyork.

I approached Hector, wiped away my tears, and said, "I'm sorry, my child and I have caused you trouble. Forget it." However, Hector turned around and there was sadness in his eyes. I was nervous - why was he sad? Was he regretting rejecting Emma? But then he clarified, "No, this is my brother's only last wish." I breathed a sigh of relief.

I continued, "You offended your father and hurt Miss Green for the sake of the child and me. I wrestle with a conscience. Seriously...Forget it!"

I kept crying. It was my best trick, and no man could remain indifferent to it. However, Hector remained stern and kept his distance from me. I couldn't believe it - what a stone!

"My father just doesn't know the actual situation, so he has a prejudice against you. Don't mind it. As for Emma..." Hector paused, and said coldly, "I have no relationship with her. I haven't even marked her for four years. Even without you, I would reject her."

"What about Miss Green? She must love you very much. After all, you are so handsome and outstanding." I tried to seduce him with my voice and infatuated eyes. As a gold-digger, I had defrauded the honest man Charles with a witch's potion to make him think of me as a mate. Seeing Hector, I decided to focus on him, and Emma was my biggest obstacle to getting close to Hector.

"She doesn't love me either," Hector replied, much to my ease.

"Miss Green is of poor taste. You are so handsome and outstanding, but she doesn't love you. It's a windfall for me to get a treasure." I moved closer to Hector, but oddly, he was inexplicably displeased and tugged on his tie irritably.

"It's getting late. I'm leaving first," Hector announced calmly.

I became anxious and asked, "Isn't this your home? Where are you going?"

Hector replied, "I have another place to live in Nuyork."

I was dumbfounded. I had expected that we could live together and that he would love me one day. Was he leaving? What was the meaning of the sexy nightgown I had prepared?

Emma’s POV

Today, I moved to a new place. Oscar insisted that my motel room was too shabby, so he arranged another place for me. "Don't worry, I know you are low-key, so I chose a very low-key place for you," he told me on the phone. But when I arrived at the 300 square meter flat facing the river, with two households on one floor, I was speechless. It was a luxury house worth hundreds of millions. How was this low-key? I was about to call Oscar to ask him to change places when I received a call from the Pack Doctor of the Blood Stone Pack.

"Lu...Miss Green, hello? This is the Pack Doctor of the Blood Stone Pack. There is something abnormal on your inspection report. Please come here right away."

I went there anxiously. When I saw the inspection report handed over by the pack doctor, I was dumbfounded.

"Miss Green, from the blood test report, your HCG value and progesterone value are both high, so we can preliminary conclude that you have been pregnant for more than a month."

"What the hell! Pregnant? More than a month?!"

"Yes. You are going to be a mother."

After the pack doctor left, I was still in a mess. It was absurd! I just made a rushed decision once. How could I get pregnant? Was it because I was too fertile, or was that guy's sperm of good quality? Why did Moon Goddess trick me like this? There was no doubt that the child must belong to Hector.

More than a month ago, when the Blood Stone Pack finished handling Charles' funeral, the whole Saunders family was shrouded in sadness. For the first time, I saw Hector take off his aloof and arrogant disguise, and was as fragile as a child, crying with his face covered, drinking bottle after bottle. I felt sorry for him and cried and drank with him. Then, we went to bed. After four years of marriage, we had the closest and deepest relationship as that night. I thought that after that night, the relationship between us could improve. Unexpectedly, it ended directly!

It's all over, the child who appeared suddenly disrupted my original plan in an instant.

"Sure enough, if you sympathize with a man, you will be unlucky forever!" I was regretful. I hesitated whether to tell Hector the news of my pregnancy. After all, he was the child's father. Maybe we should decide together whether to keep this child or not.

"Miss Green, what a coincidence. Why are you also in the hospital?" Behind me came Thea's voice.

I turned around and saw Thea supporting her waist, smiling happily. Standing next to Thea was my prospective ex-mate, Hector. The man was as tall and handsome as ever, with a cool look. His natural dignity made him stand out in the crowd. I paused. My heart seemed to have been pierced by needles. It slightly ached. These two people were like a perfect match when they stood together, filled with a loving and warm atmosphere. Moreover, I looked at Thea's belly today; it seemed to be getting bigger. I felt that she was redundant, and so was the child in her belly.

"I have a check again. I am leaving now." I smiled, pretending to be rakish and waving at them. I didn't have the courage to tell Hector about my pregnancy. If I told him, it would just be a self-inflicted humiliation. It was better to never let him know so that I could retain my dignity.

The next second, my wrist was held by Hector's big palm. "You look bad. What happened?"

I met the man's eyes. In the past, I would be immersed in his deep eyes as beautiful as stars. But now, I just found it ridiculous.

"Whether I am fine or not doesn't seem to have anything to do with you, my ex-mate-to-be."

Hector frowned at my words, and he became angry for no reason. However, the Alpha of The Blood Stone Pack, who had always been cool, pestered me shamelessly.

"You said that I am your ex-mate-to-be but not the ex-mate."

Hector looked at the inspection report in my hand and said in his usual strong tone, "What are you checking again? Show me."
