Chapter 5

If time could be turned back, Hector hoped to gamble his whole life and go back to that night three months ago.

That night, he and his brother were walking on Newton street, discussing the future development of The Blood Stone Pack.

But they met a sudden attack by rogues.

Hector’s brother used his body to block the knife with wolfbane that should have stabbed Hector.

Before his brother died, he said that he found his mate, named Thea.

Thea had just been pregnant with his child.

"Marry Thea, live on for me. Give Thea and my child a complete family,’’ Charles Saunders said to Hector.

Hector would never forget the desperate look on his brother’s face when he held him with bloody hands and pleaded with him.

If time could be turned back, Hector would push his brother away from standing in front of him. He would rather bear this death by himself!

"You offended your father and hurt Miss Green for the sake of my child and me. I wrestle with a conscience. Seriously... Forget it!" Thea insisted.

"I can live a good life with a child by myself. Although it is very difficult for an unmarried woman who has a child, I can bear it!" she added.

Thea continued to cry.

She didn't believe that Hector could remain indifferent to her trick.

Hector was stern. He kept a distance from Thea quietly.

"My father just doesn't know the actual situation, so he has a prejudice against you. Don't mind it,’’ Hector started to say.

"As for Emma..." he continued.

Then he paused, and said coldly, "I have no relationship with her. I haven't even marked her for four years. Even without you, I would reject her."

"Liar! You love our m..." Hector’s wolf was saying, but Hector blocked Rex before he finished talking.

"What about Miss Green? She must love you very much. After all, you are so handsome and outstanding."

Thea's voice was seductive as she spoke. She looked at Hector infatuatedly.

As a gold-digger, she defrauded the honest man Charles with a witch's potion to make him sense her as a mate. After all, that guy was a very dull simp.

Seeing Hector, she understood what love at first sight was, so she decided to focus on Hector.

Emma was the biggest obstacle for her to get close to Hector!

"She doesn't love me either, otherwise she wouldn’t be so active after rejection,’’ Hector replied.

Thea was completely at ease.

It seemed that the two were as rumored. They didn't love each other, in fact they hated each other. Rejection was only a matter of time. She didn't need to worry too much at all.

"Miss Green is of poor taste. You are so handsome and outstanding, but she doesn't love you. It's such a windfall for me to get a treasure,’’ Thea said seductively.

Thea moved closer to Hector.

Hearing what the woman said, Hector was inexplicably displeased and tugged on his tie irritably.

"It's getting late. I'm leaving,’’ he suddenly said.

Thea became anxious.

"Isn't this your home? Where are you going?" she asked.

Hector said calmly, "I have another place to live in Nuyork."

"What?" Thea exclaimed.

Thea was dumbfounded.

She expected that she would live with Hector and he could love her one day.

Was he leaving?

No wonder Hector hadn't marked Emma for four years. Emma was too miserable to be a widow for four years!

...

Emma was moving today.

Oscar insisted that her one-bedroom apartment was too shabby, so he arranged another place for her.

"Don't worry, Emma. I know you are low-key, so I chose a very low-key place for you."

That was what Oscar told her on the phone.

When she followed the address and came to the 300 square meters flat facing the river with two households on one floor, she was speechless.

It was a luxury house worth hundreds of millions. Was this low-key?

Emma was about to call Oscar to ask him to change places when a call came in.

"Lu... Miss Green, hello? This is the Pack Doctor of the Blood Stone Pack. There is something abnormal on your inspection report. Please come here right away,’’ the caller said.

Emma went there with anxiety.

When she saw the inspection report handed over by the pack doctor, she was dumbfounded.

"Miss Green, from the blood test report, your HCG value and progesterone value are both high, so we can preliminarily conclude that you have been pregnant for more than a month,’’ the doctor revealed.

"What the hell! I have been pregnant? More than a month?!" Emma asked.

"Yes. You are going to be a mother,’’ the doctor replied.

After the pack doctor left, Emma was still in a mess.

It was absurd!

She just made a rushed decision once. How could she have gotten pregnant? Was it because she was too fertile, or was that guy's sperm of such good quality? Why did God trick her like this?

There was no doubt that the child belonged to Hector.

More than a month ago, when The Blood Stone Pack finished handling Charles' funeral, the whole Saunders family was shrouded in sadness.

For the first time, Emma saw Hector take off his aloof and arrogant disguise, and was as fragile as a child, crying with his face covered, drinking bottle after bottle.

She felt sorry for him and cried and drank with him.

Then, they went to bed...

After four years of marriage, they had the closest and deepest relationship that night.

Emma thought that after that night, the relationship between her and Hector would improve.

Unexpectedly, there was no improvement. It ended directly, as fast as it had started!

It's all over, the child who appeared suddenly disrupted her original plan in an instant.

"Sure enough, if you sympathize with a man, you will be unlucky forever!" she scolded herself.

Emma was regretful.

She hesitated, thinking whether to tell Hector the news of her pregnancy.

After all, he was the child's father. Maybe the two of them would decide on whether to keep the child together or not.

"Miss Green, what a coincidence. Why are you also in the hospital?"

Behind her sounded Thea's voice.

Emma turned around and saw Thea supporting her waist, smiling happily.

Standing next to Thea was her prospective ex-mate, Hector.

The man was as tall and handsome as ever, with a cool look. His natural dignity made him stand out in the crowd.

Emma paused. Her heart seemed to have been pierced by needles. Her heart slightly ached.

These two people seemed like a perfect match when they stood together, filled with a loving and warm atmosphere.

Moreover, Emma looked at Thea's belly, and as of today, it seemed to have gotten bigger.

Emma felt that she was redundant, and so was the child in her belly.

"I had a check again. I am leaving now,’’ Emma replied.

She smiled, pretending to be rakish and waved at them.

She didn't have the courage to tell Hector about her pregnancy.

If she told him, it would just be a self-inflicted humiliation. It was better to never let him know so that she could retain dignity.

The next second, her slender wrist was held by Hector's big palm.

"You look bad. What happened?" he asked with some concern.

Emma met the man's eyes.

In the past, she would be immersed in his deep eyes which looked as beautiful as stars.

But now, she just found it ridiculous.

"Whether I am fine or not doesn't seem to have anything to do with you, my ex-mate-to-be,’’ Emma replied.

Hector frowned at her words, and he became angry for no reason.

However, the second young master of The Blood Stone Pack, who had always been cool, was acting strangely today. He pestered Emma shamelessly.

"You said that I am your ex-mate-to-be but not yet the ex-mate,’’ he replied angrily.

Hector looked at the inspection report in Emma's hand with his sharp eyes and said in his usual strong tone, "What are you checking again? Show me."
