Chapter 66

I take my hoodie off and place it to the side. "Hey," I whisper in a soothing voice. I'm behind her, so she lifts her head and tries to turn it to try and see me. I move around her so I'm now in front of her. She whimpers when I try to remove some of the leaves and dirt that are stuck to her. "I know," I whisper. "I know it hurts." Her gashes are bleeding and I'm afraid she'll bleed out before the healing process starts. I rip pieces from the bottom of my shirt and tie them around each wound that's bleeding too much. I leave the other ones that aren't bleeding so much alone, but she'll get an infection if I leave them unattended for too long.
