Chapter 68

"Tell me," I say, a little too harsh for comfort. I regret being so harsh, so I shoot her a quick apology before saying, "Whatever you're possibly keeping from me is probably not even that bad."

"I wouldn't say it's bad, but It's definitely not good," She shrugs. "You'd definitely be surprised."

"Please," I snort. "It's probably nothing compared to all the crazy shit I've found out in the last month alone. Let it out." I inch myself closer to her as I'm slipping off the bed.

After a couple seconds, she's still hesitant, but she eventually starts to speak. "I was following you because... because..." Her eyes dart around the room.

"Because what?" I ask.

The girl lets out a huff, giving in. Instead of directly answering my question, she answers with another question. "You asked me my name earlier, right?"

My eyebrows crease. "I did, but I don't think that has anything to do with—"
