The annual Martial tournament this year has attracted a lot of attention. Every year in the month of August, the annual martial tournament is held in Dressrosa. The specialty about this tournament is that anyone be it pirate or marine can participate in the tournament. There were no rules in fighting. And every year there is a grand prize reserved for the winner.
For last 2 years, Rebecca the gladiator has been the undefeated champion of this tournament.
But this year many people speculated that it will change. Because the grand prize this year was permi permi no mi, a paramicia type devil fruit that allows it's user to make any surface they touch to become permeable that allows them to pass through it.
That's why many marine rear admirals along with many pirates were participating in this year's event.
But because of the world government, the ground of the kingdom of Dressrosa has been declared as neutral ground for three days till the tournament's ending.
Many high ranking members of Don xiote family has been busy with security. While many others along with Doflamingo were getting ready to start the underground betting on the championship tournament.

I walked towards the colosseum with my claymore. Due to the attraction of devil fruit, many strong participants will be present in today's tournament. I was determined to win. Because my freedom and revenge depended on it.
I was already a registered gladiator. So I didn't have to go through the main gate. Instead I went through the private gate reserved for the gladiators.
It was sickening how Doflamingo was controlling these people. All of them were in the illusion of being Happy. From the Jaya island arc, I knew about his string powers. So it wasn't hard to figure out who is behind the carnage of that night.
Suppressing my inner emotions, I went towards my personal chamber in the second floor.
The personal chambers were glorious cages for the fighters from where they could witness the fight happening in the arena.
After entering my personal chamber, I noticed something odd. Confirming with my observation haki, that no one is evsdropping on us, I turned to the corner.
"Leo ! I told you to avoid the colosseum." I was not angry at him coming here. But he should at least have a better excuse for risking this meeting.
"I know, Rebecca-land. But this is a matter of urgency." Leo, the leader of the fighting troop of tonttata tribe came out of his hiding place.
"What is it ?" I asked him.
"We finally managed to figure out what is Sugar's powers and how it worked." After hearing Leo I was shocked. Our prime suspect behind the disappearance of the people was Sugar. But no matter how much time she is spied upon by dwarves, it was no use.
"Tell me about it." I send seriously.
"Sugar is the one making all of these toys. But in reality those are not toys but they are people. Living breathing people.-" Leo took a deep breath before continuing"-she need to touch someone to turn them into toys and the worst thing is that whom ever is turned into a toy, everyone will forget about his existence. All of those toy slaves along with all the toys that are roaming around this city doing various tasks were once people. You understand what's that mean don't you ? And the final treatment of those toys when they are not longer usable..." Leo got frozen mid sentence.
I started to take deep breaths to calm myself down. My father was probably turned into a toy as well. That's why I forgot everything about him. I have to adjust some of my new plans. Those plans might not be as effectable as I thought if a brat can touch anyone and turn them into toys.
"Do you know how to turn back the toys into humans ?" I asked Leo .
"No, unfortunately we were able to find this information with your idea of deploying a video recording den den mushi. But that's all we were able to found." Leo said looking down.
"There is no point thinking about it. Hault all of our plannings. We need more information on Sugar. For now I will focus on winning this tournament and getting our prize. In the mean time search for a devil fruit encyclopaedia from the incoming guests, and steal it for me.
I don't think Doflamingo will leave any information on the encyclopaedia if I ask him to give me one." I told him to. So Sugar was the strategic weapon of Doflamingo since the beginning.
Not long after Leo left, a maid came to notify me about my schedule.
This time due to the participation of more than 1200 participants, the schedule has changed.
There will be 6 elemination rounds in the matches of first day.
The top three fighters from each elimination round will go to the next round.
I was in round 3.
There was still time tell the matches start, So I went to the statue of the undefeated gladiator. That statue for some reason felt familiar. But I couldn't put my fingers on it.

Elemination rounds were to thin out numbers.
I watched the first round from my chamber.
And there were a few strong opponents and a tricky opponent in them.
As I had expected, the first round ended with two people standing in the arena.
A marine rear admiral, Bufflo and a pirate named Gixxar with a bounty of 135 million berries.
