ANGELLE
"Did you finish the quotes?" Prof asked.
"Yeah, I'm just waiting for the papers." I replied, which made him nod.
AFTER we arrived from school, I went home briefly to change clothes before going to Prof's place to finish the paper for Students. We have to submit it tomorrow, and we can't afford not to because we would fail Sir Ferias' subject.
I was handling the printing of the papers, while Prof was creating the questions and typing. Jimwell was also here, helping us finish the papers. His reason was that he had nothing to do, so it was better to help us, at least he could contribute something.
"Guys, let's eat first." Andre suggested, who was cooking their meal for today.
It might be seafood again, and Link might have an allergic reaction.
"Alright, we'll follow." Prof said.
Prof stopped typing and glanced at me before standing up. "Let's eat, Angelle." I nodded and stood up as well.
The three of us went to the dining area where we found Andre and Link already seated. I was about to pull a chair next to Prof when Link stood up and pulled me to sit next to him. Our companions smirked mischievously because of what this jerk did, he always embarrasses me in front of his friends! Should I punch him?
"When it comes to babies, they can't sit next to others," Prof teased, I glared at Prof.
"She's not my baby!" I retorted, which made them laugh.
"We know, but from the looks of it, you two are heading there." I pursed my lips and remained silent.
We prayed before eating and when we finished, Link served me rice and food on my plate. He's acting like a gentleman! I can't deny to myself that I like it and it makes me feel giddy, but it's annoying because I feel like it's just for show.
"Eat," he ordered.
I didn't respond and just started eating. They were chatting about the exam earlier while eating. I felt sorry for them because they didn't review, they're sure to fail if that's the case.
"How was the exam for you, Angelle?" Jimwell asked, causing them to look at me.
"Um, it was okay. I reviewed, so I didn't have a hard time." I replied and took a bite of my food.
"You're lucky you were able to review, unlike us." Prof complained.
I chuckled. "Where did you go yesterday, Prof?" He smiled as if recalling a pleasant memory.
"I had a meeting,"
"With whom?" the four of us asked simultaneously, causing us to look at each other and laugh.
"You guys aren't excited, are you? Anyway, I met with my soon-to-be-girlfriend." He replied with a smile.
"Is she the one you said was beautiful, Prof?" Prof nodded in response.
"You guys are lucky, your love lives are so beautiful," We turned to Andre when he suddenly spoke in a sad voice.
"Why do you say that, Dre?" Jimwell asked Andre, furrowing his brows.
Andre sighed. "It's Jove, she's always picking fights with me. It's as if I did something wrong," he replied.
"Maybe you're showing something that's why she's fighting with you." Prof suggested.
"No, but I noticed these past few days. Whenever we're in the room, she doesn't talk to me much, and if she does, it's only about the lesson, but our sweet moments are gone."
"Oh! Dude, that just means Jovelyn is getting tired of Andre," Prof said, laughing.
Andre didn't respond and looked at me, which slightly surprised me. I raised an eyebrow at him, but he didn't flinch.
"Maybe you know why your cousin is acting like that?" he asked me.
"If you're going to ask, you should ask Lica, they're always together." Andre pursed his lips.
"Maybe I should just break up with Jove— ouch!" Andre couldn't finish his sentence because Prof hit him on the head.
"Are you an idiot? You're going to break up because of what you're thinking, maybe your girlfriend just has a problem. Talk to her if you really love her, so you can know her problem and help her." Prof sounded like a mother rapping.
Andre scratched his head. "This Prof can't take a joke, he didn't even let me finish." He pouted, which made me laugh softly.
We continued eating while chatting. Talking about hype beast stuff and their flings. They even discussed their upcoming get-together this weekend. It reminded me of the first time I joined them in a get-together and the first time I was embarrassed because of that jerk Link.
"Are you joining our get-together this weekend, Angelle?" Jimwell asked.
"I-I'm not sure yet," he pursed his lips.
"The last time you joined us was when you and Link had a scandal." I furrow.
Can that be considered a scandal?
"That wasn't a scandal, that's too much." He laughed softly at my comment.
"Sorry, we just called it a scandal back then." I pursed my lips, they're too much.
"You guys are so mean!"
"Hey, not really. Timothy was the one who started that,"
That Timothy is also a traitor, he didn't want Link for me, and yet he was the one who started to call it a scandal when I sat on Link's lap.
After we finished eating, Prof and I returned to the living room to finish a questionnaire when Link approached us and abruptly pulled me up, which surprised me and puzzled Prof.
"W-why?" I asked, startled.
"Come with me," he said, continuing to pull me.
"Where?"
"Room."
"Witwew! Are you going to make a baby— ouch, Prof!" Andre couldn't finish his sentence because Prof hit him on the head.
R-room?
I forcefully pulled my hand back and stopped walking, causing Link to stop as well and look at me.
"What are you?!" I snapped at him.
"A human," he replied.
"What the hell! Don't be sarcastic with me, Mr. Serrano!" I said, annoyed.
He laughed softly and approached me. "I just want to show you something, whatever it is that's going through your mind." He chuckled.
I sighed. "If you have something to show, then bring it here. You don't have to take me to your room!" I retorted.
"I can't bring what I want to show you downstairs," he replied sarcastically.
"Go ahead, Angelle. Link isn't a rapist." Jimwell said, I glanced at them.
Jimwell is the only decent one among these jerks. I'm really annoyed with Link.
"I don't trust your friend." I said, about to return to my seat when he spoke.
"So, you don't trust me with your heart either?"
"Ayiiieeut! Damn it! Where's my girlfriend? Jovelyn!"
I didn't know whether to laugh at Andre's craziness or cry. Prof was already giving him a stern look. Damn this Link, he's too cheesy!
I faced him with raised eyebrows. "It seems like that, I don't know you that well yet, so I don't trust you." I said bravely.
Instead of getting angry, he smiled and suddenly lifted me up, which surprised me. I struggled for him to put me down, but he was stronger than me, so he carried me upstairs. Shit! I don't want to get pregnant yet, shit!
When we arrived at his open room, he put me down on his bed and smiled, which annoyed me. I stood up with my arms crossed.
"You know, Link? You're really crazy!" I said, annoyed, and stood up from where I was sitting.
The man just laughed and took something from the drawer near his bed. Once he got it, he came back to me and forcibly sat me down on his bed.
"What are you going to show me?" I asked, annoyed.
He waved a photo album in front of me. Is he going to show me his parents and his sibling?
When he opened the photo album, a cute baby greeted us. The baby was chubby and so cute, especially with its chubby cheeks that were so tempting to bite, hehe.
"Do you know this baby?" he asked, I glanced at him and raised an eyebrow.
"Do you think I know this? I've never even seen this baby before," he laughed.
"That's me." My eyebrow arched at his statement.
"Excuse me? Just because I found the baby cute, you think I would assume that's you." I rolled my eyes.
He scratched his head and then took the picture of the baby and showed me what was written on the back of it.
Johnxzel Linkin Serrano Jr.
Is Link a junior?
"So that's you? But why does your face look different there?"
"Of course, I've grown up, people's appearances change as they grow." I pursed my lips and nodded.
"You're right."
"I'm not wrong," he said, laughing, I glared at him.
"Common sense."
POK!
He flicked my forehead, which annoyed me even more. But he continued flipping through the photo album.
"Wow! Is that you?" I asked him, pointing to a picture where a young boy was doing a peace sign.
He nodded. "I'm handsome, right?" I grimaced.
"Not really," I said.
"Tch! You're denying it, but it's obvious." I pursed my lips.
"Whatever!"
We just looked at his pictures until we ran out. He put the album aside and lay down on the bed. I looked at him and smiled out of the blue, imagining if we were married, would we be like this? Oh, shit. Erase, erase! My thoughts are giving me goosebumps.
"Why are you smiling?" My thoughts suddenly vanished when he spoke. I think too far ahead.
"Just because," I said, avoiding his gaze.
"You know what?"
"I don't know yet." I said, I was surprised when he suddenly pulled me to lie down next to him.
I remembered when we were at the resort with Uncle Ion. I felt the strange tickle in my stomach that I always feel when Link is next to me.
He faced me and smiled. Why does he look so handsome when he smiles? And I don't like his smile, right?
"What's wrong? Why can't you pay attention to me? Am I ugly in your eyes? What's wrong?" I was surprised when he suddenly started singing while smiling.
I was taken aback because it was the first time I heard him sing, and his voice was beautiful. His voice was so deep, but it match his gentle face and the eyes that were looking at me.
"Please give me a chance, I'm not like what you think." He continued, removing some strands of hair that covered my face.
I don't know, but it's different when I'm with Link. You know those feelings that fictional female characters have when they're with the guy they know will make them happy forever?
I'm angry at Link because of what he does, but why is it like this? Why out of all the guys, do I have to fall for him? My own heart is a traitor, choosing the person I despise.
"Angelle," he said my name after singing the chorus.
"Hmm?"
"Before, I had a lot of assumptions about you. I thought you were Gipsy," I raised an eyebrow at what he said, he's bringing it up again. "But you know, I realized that you're completely different from Gipsy, especially in terms of appearance and personality." He continued, should I be happy about this?
"I also thought before that you were kind..." I am kind, actually. "I was so wrong about that, you're not kind like other girls..." Should I punch him?
"You know, if you didn't have any good—" I didn't finish what I was saying because he covered my lips with his index finger, causing me to fall silent.
"Because you're the only woman I've ever met who can make even a gay fall in love."
I smirked and swallowed, damn! What is Link saying? Is he about to die that's why he's saying all these nice things about me?
I met his gaze and locked eyes with him before speaking. "Why don't you just be straightforward with me? I'm getting confused with what you're saying." I admitted.
He smiled and pulled me closer to him. I was about to leave when he suddenly hugged me and brought his face close to mine. I closed my eyes when I felt his lips touch my forehead.
"I like you, Angelle."
•~•~•~•~•~•
We finished our exam quickly. Afterward, Prof and I collected the papers from the students. The senior high students were sent home, actually the test was easy if you reviewed. But it was difficult for those who didn't review. Many senior high students still hadn't finished their exams. I mean, they were submitting their papers unfinished or with blank pages.
"Did you text Link?" Prof asked as we waited outside the gate for our companions.
I raised an eyebrow at nothingness. "Are you insulting me, Prof?" I asked, annoyed. He looked at me and soon realized why I reacted that way.
"Hehe, sorry. Angelle, you don't have a cell phone, right?" He chuckled.
"Why don't you call that idiot then?" I said, looking around.
"Sure," he replied and took out his cell phone.
I smirked when I saw the popcorn vendor, suddenly feeling hungry.
"Do you want some?" I looked at the person who spoke and saw Link just arriving and standing beside me.
I was about to smile, but I quickly hid it and raised an eyebrow at him. "N-no," he grinned and then pulled me towards the popcorn vendor.
"I told you don'tdeny when it's obvious," he said.
"Excuse me? I'm not denying anything!" I retorted.
"Tch!" he scoffed.
When we got closer, he immediately bought popcorn for me, choosing the largest size, which was 25 pesos. After we made the purchase, he pulled me back to our spot with Prof, where Timothy, Jimwell, Russel, and Wendell were already there. Haven't the others arrived yet?
"Look at these two, not even treating us," Russel said when he noticed that Link and I were eating popcorn.
"It's because spending is in fashion," Link replied.
"Sheesh! The stingiest one spoke!"
"Idiot, he's not stingy anymore! Look, he even treated Angelle." Prof interjected, with his cell phone in his ear.
"Come on, we don't dream of being treated by Link anymore." Wendell acted as if he was sad.
Link raised an eyebrow, which made me laugh a little. He couldn't resist and took out his wallet, then handed money to his friend.
"Bro, is this for real?" Wendell asked, sounding surprised.
I just shrugged and sat on a big rock on the side. I looked at Timothy as he sat next to me.
"Have you agreed?" he asked as he sat down.
"Agreed to what?"
"Link's courtship," I frowned.
The last time we talked, I told myself that I would say yes to Isiah. To let go of my feelings for Link, which I didn't manage to do. Since Link confessed to me, I managed to ignore Isiah, something I couldn't do before. He would call Lica, and I would just say that I was busy. I didn't know how to tell Isiah that I no longer had feelings for him.
"I haven't agreed yet," I replied.
"What about Isiah?"
"When I know my true feelings, I'll talk to the person who might get hurt."
You're lying, Angelle. You know within yourself who will get hurt, you just don't want to admit it.
He smiled. "That's good, I hope that whoever you choose, you're ready for the challenges that will come in your relationship," he said.
"Challenges are inevitable in a relationship, you know that." I smiled.
"You're right."
After a while, Ate Jove came out with Paps, Kervin, and Andre. Lica didn't join them because she was still doing her service until now.
"Are we going home?" Andre asked, with his arm around Ate Jove.
Are they okay now? Earlier, they were arguing while we were walking to school.
"Not yet, let's have lomi first." The hype beasts among us grinned mischievously.
"Lomi?" I asked, confused.
I've heard them mention "lomi" before, but I haven't seen or tasted it yet.
"You don't know lomi?" Jimwell asked, and I shook my head in response.
"They didn't have a lomi place in their previous residence," Ate Jove said.
"I see."
After a short while, we arrived at the lomi place they were talking about. It was like a small eatery that only served lomi. We occupied two tables and ordered the "Lomi special," as they called it. I didn't spend any money because Link treated me again. I didn't want to be treated, but I haven't won against him when it comes to this.
We waited for a while, and soon enough, the Lomi special was served to us. It looked like ramen, but it was thick and had a lot of ingredients.
"Thank you for the food!" Russel happily said, imitating Boruto's grin.
They started eating while I stared at the calamansi and fish sauce. Argh.
"Here, have some," Link said when he noticed that I hadn't touched my lomi yet.
"Duh, you already took a sip." I rolled my eyes.
"Don't you want it? You'll taste my saliva too." I grimaced.
"No thanks, I'd prefer a dog's saliva over yours!" I retorted.
"But mine tastes better," he said.
"Ew, what if you didn't brush your teeth?"
He brought his face closer to mine, causing me to flinch. What is this idiot doing now?
"Stay away or I'll punch you!" I threatened, but he wasn't scared.
"I just want to show you that my saliva is tastier than your crush's dog." He said, then smiled widely, showing all his white teeth, and I could smell his fresh breath.
Okay, fine. I take back what I said about a dog's saliva being tastier. Maybe hi
s is actually tastier. I found myself smiling and then moved away from Link's face.
"What?" he asked.
"Okay, you win." I replied.
He did a victory pose and smiled.
"Damn! One point for handsome Link," Kervin said.
"Link," Ate Jove spoke up, silencing everyone.
"What?"
"Let's get to the bottom of this, are you courting my cousin?"
