Chapter 84- New York War (7)

Urg!!!" said Atlas as he suddenly grabbed his heart.

"Stop it, Atlas. You're using too much magic, and it's hurting you," I told him, hoping he'd listen to reason.

I understood Atlas well. He was really mad about something that happened ages ago, and he just couldn't let it go. It was like he was obsessed with getting payback, no matter what. But even with all that anger, I couldn't shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, he still had a little bit of kindness buried deep inside him.

Also, I couldn't ignore how much I had changed over the last four years. I'd been training hard, getting better at what I do and getting stronger. I used to rely a lot berserker, but now I've learned to control my power better. Instead of going all out using berserker, Now I've learned to use my strength more carefully and accurately.

Suddenly Atlas laughed, sounding dark and evil. "We'll see," he said before making another black hole appear. Then, he went into it, leaving behind a scary message. "Come after me, Spider-Man, or many people will die.

I hesitated, torn between the urgency of the situation and the uncertainty of what awaited me on the other side. What about Chris, Mary, Emily, and the others? Were they safe? I didn't have time to dwell on these questions. With a heavy heart and a sense that something bad might happen, I jumped into the portal, preparing myself for whatever was on the other side.

As I stepped out of the swirling portal, I ended up on a fast-moving train ahead. The sound of the train's wheels rumbling on the tracks filled the air. Looking around, I saw we were in another side of New York City. Then, Atlas's voice cut through the noise, sounding really evil as he presented me with a twisted choice.

"Spider-Man, can you stop that train from smashing into the ground?" he sneered, pointing towards the dark portal and said, "If that train goes through this portal, it will end up hanging in the air above the city of New York, and then it will crash. You've got to save the train, or everyone onboard will die."

Before I could even understand what he was saying, Atlas disappeared, leaving behind a trail of creepy magic that felt really evil. The train suddenly surged forward, speeding up fast. Its brakes didn't work anymore because of Atlas's evil magic.

Panic spread among the passengers like wildfire as they realized the danger they were in. Their fear weighed heavily on me, pushing me to act quickly and make a decisive move.

Then, Atlas's voice echoed through the chaos, his laughter filled with wickedness as he mocked the frightened passengers. "If Spider-Man can't stop this train from reaching that portal, all of you will die," he announced, enjoying the fear he'd caused.

Feeling an urgent need to act fast, I swung into action. My webs shot out, grabbing onto the sides of the train. It was tough, like trying to stop a giant moving rock. I pushed hard, trying to slow the train down. I knew that if I didn't, everyone on board would be in serious trouble.

As I strained against the force, trying to slow down the train, I couldn't help but feel a bit like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man in that intense moment. The train was rushing ahead, and I was the only one stopping it from going towards that portal.

As the train kept rushing towards the portal, everyone on board got super scared. They were screaming really loud, and the sound of the train's brakes squeaking was awful. It was chaos all around.

I pushed myself as hard as I could, using every bit of strength I had. "Aurgh!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled really loudly, my scream cutting through all the noise like lightning.

Using all my willpower, I pushed myself even harder, nearly reaching the point of being completely worn out. Sweat dripped down my face as I gave everything I had to stop the train from moving forward.

...........

[Inside the train]

Inside the train, amidst all the chaos and fear, a little girl held onto her mom tightly, her eyes wide with fear. "Mommy, Spider-Man will stop the train, right?" she asked, her voice shaky with uncertainty.

"He will, honey, he will," her mother replied, her own voice choked with tears as she sought to reassure her daughter. But deep down, she was worried too, she too harbored doubts and fears, unsure of what fate awaited them on the other side of the portal.

As the train moved forward suddenly, everyone on board got ready for something really bad to happen. They felt their hearts beating fast, like they might burst out of their chests at any moment. Some of them prayed really hard, hoping that spiderman will succeed. Others just accepted that something terrible was going to happen, and they looked really sad and hopeless.

In the midst of the loud train noise and people screaming in fear, Spider-Man shouted loudly, "Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!" His strong voice cut through the instense situation.

.........

[Meanwhile Mc pov]

"Argh!!!" I screamed, feeling the strain as my webs snapped one by one, and my feet struggled to bear the weight, my muscles trembling with effort as I fought to stop the train.

With a final burst of strength, I barely managed to stop the train from crashing into the portal. My heart pounded in my chest as I stood there, panting and exhausted, but relieved that I had averted disaster.

But Regret gnawed at me as I questioned why I hadn't tapped into my berserker power. If only I had used it, I could have stopped this train effortlessly.

Suddenly Atlas stood before me behind him is the portal, He said something that make my heart skipped beat, like this was going to be the worst day of my life. "Spider-Man, this is the day you will suffer the most," he declared.

"What do you mean?!" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mixture of fear and anger as I struggled to comprehend what Atlas saying.

Atlas's reply didn't make things clearer; instead, it just made me even more scared. He grinned evilly, his enjoying what he saw. "You're going to go through a lot of pain, Spider-Man. The people you care about, your closest friends and family, you'll lose them all," he said nastily, his words full of hatred.

Before I could even process my emotions, Atlas's laughter turned into agonized screams as he doubled over in pain, clutching his chest with a trembling hand. He must have overexerted himself by using too much magic.

Driven by a desperate need for answers, I lunged forward, grabbing Atlas by his robe. with a strong grip. "What have you done?!" I roared, my voice echoing with raw intensity as I stared into his cold, unyielding gaze.

"You're too late to stop it," he taunted, his words sharp and cruel, each one filled with malice.

Without further ado, I tapped into my chi sense, desperate to understand what was happening to my friends. As the waves of energy washed over me, I felt a chill run down my spine. Mark, Chris, Emily—they were all in danger, and Emily energies tainted by some dark chi that threatened to consume her.

Then it hit me hard, like a giant hammer slamming into my chest—Mary. I couldn't feel her chi at all, and it scared me in a way I'd never felt before. It was like a deep, chilling fear creeping into my bones.

No, no, no, I couldn't lose her too. The thought sent shivers down my spine, and I felt a surge of panic rising within me.

As I turned my gaze back to Atlas, my fists clenched at my sides, my heart pounding with a mixture of anger and despair. "Yo--u-u," I said, barely able to speak.

Then Filled with anger and frustration, I punched Atlas over and over. I was really mad at him. Each punch I threw was like a wave of fury crashing into him. It felt like I was pushing all my anger onto him, making him feel what I feel. Every time my fist hit him, it felt like I was getting stronger and stronger.

But no matter how hard I punched him, Atlas just laughed. It was like he didn't care at all about the pain I was trying to inflict on him. His laughter seemed to mock me, reminding me that he was enjoying every moment of my struggles.

"Tell me!" I demanded, my voice hoarse with emotion as I continued to rain down blows upon Atlas's now bloodied face. "What have you done to them?!"

Atlas was no longer laughing. He was gasping in pain, trying to speak but failing miserably. "You... can't stop it," he manage to said something, each word strained and filled with agony. Every time he tried to talk, it sounded like bones grinding together, a sickening noise that made my blood boil even more.

With a shout, I said, "Is that so, Then Die!!!!!" But just as I was about to deliver the finishing blow, there was a sudden loud bang, like a huge firecracker going off. Atlas fell to the ground, blood spreading beneath him, bringing a sudden and unexpected end to his life.

[Meanwhile Loe side]

After loe knocked Viper unconscious. Loe wasted no time, he quickly restrained Viper, wrapping him up securely to prevent any chance of escape. With Viper subdued and unable to cause any more harm, Loe's attention shifted to the task of ensuring the safety of the city amidst the chaos unfolding around him.

........

As Loe hurried through the busy and messed-up streets of New York City, he saw something really weird—a big black hole in the sky. It looked like something bad was about to happen.

"What? A portal?" Loe said in disbelief, his brain spinning with what it could mean. He didn't waste any time. He immediately used his Cape of Mercury [gift from Thomas Halloway], a magical item that let him fly, and flew straight up toward the portal. He was ready to face whatever evil thing was on the other side.

As Loe got closer to the portal, he felt a sinking feeling in his chest. There, he saw something intense going down—a showdown between Michael, his friend, and a Villain. The atmosphere was super tense.

"You can't stop it," the villain sneered, his voice filled with hate and mocking.

In response, Michael's expression twisted with rage, his resolve hardening as he prepared to kill him "Is that so? Then die!" he shouted, his voice full of rage.

Loe's mind raced with apprehension as he watched the scene unfold. He knew all too well the consequences of succumbing to the darkness within, and he could not bear to witness Michael's descent into that path. With a heavy heart and a sense of determination, he made a fateful decision.

"No, no, no," Loe whispered to himself, his thoughts consumed by the weight of the moment. "If Michael kills him, he'll be on a path of no return. I have no choice but to intervene. It's better if it's me."

With a shaky hand but unwavering resolve, Loe pulled out his gun and pointed it at the villain. In that moment, he realized how serious his choice was. knowing that he must sacrifice his conscience to prevent Michael from going that path.

Without hesitation, Loe pulled the trigger, the gunshot ringing out through the chaotic scene, drowning out all other sounds. The villain's mocking laughter was silenced in an instant as the bullet found its mark, ending his threat once and for all.

....

[Mc Pov]

And then, someone stepped out from behind me. His appearance gave me hope. "Spider-Man," he said, speaking calmly but with determination, looking straight at me without hesitation.

As I heard that voice, I instantly recognized it as Loe's. I struggled to speak, my breath heavy and my words strained. "Loe," I managed to say, "I-I sense their chi weakening." It was difficult to articulate, the worry evident in my voice.

Loe looked at me, his expression puzzled. "I don't understand what's going on," he admitted. But then, his tone became firm and reassuring. "But I know you're not a killer. That's why I took care of that guy." He paused briefly before urging me, "Go save everyone. Let me handle this. You need to go now!"

His words spurred me into action, despite my lingering concern. I nodded in agreement, trusting Loe to handle the situation. With a sense of urgency, I raced toward the closing portal. It was like a swirling whirlpool, ready to snap shut any second. I pushed myself as hard as I could, barely squeezing through before it sealed completely.

As I came out on the other side, I found myself high above the sky, bathed in the warmth of the sun. Without a moment to waste, I shot out my web, latching onto a nearby building's wall. With a fast flick, I push myself forward, swinging swiftly through the streets below.

As I swung through the city, I felt the wind on my face and heard the busy sounds below. But in all the noise, I felt a strong need to hurry. I knew I had to move fast because time was running out. Every time I swung, I felt desperate.

As I used my chi sense, I felt Mark's chi and another dark chi familiar that is the vampire chi that i fought back then. Both of their energies were fading, and then the vampire chi disappeared completely. Suddenly, Mark's chi vanished too. "Nononono, Mark!!!!!!" I cried out in desperation. As I swung through the city, urgency pushing me forward, I hurried towards where I sensed their chi.
