Chapter 114 – The Mutant (7)

As I swung away from Magneto's metal attacks, Professor X's urgent voice echoed in my mind.

"Spider-Man, I know this is too much to ask, but can you try to remove his helmet?" Professor X's telepathic message cut through the chaos of battle. "Without that helmet, I can use my telepathy against him."

"No need to explain, Professor," I replied mentally, determination fueling my actions as I continued to evade Magneto's attacks.

As I approached Magneto, his anger boiled over, his voice filled with fury. "You rat!"

"Okay, let's do this," I responded aloud, my resolve unwavering as I swung my web, narrowly dodging another barrage of adamantium. With my Spider-Sense guiding me, I sensed his next move before it even happened, giving me the advantage I needed to execute our plan.

[Meanwhile Wolverine side]

Beast told Wolverine about a plan to stop Juggernaut, but Wolverine wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Still, they didn't have any other options, so they decided to go ahead with it.

"I have this injection," Beast began, his voice tinged with urgency, "It'll send him into a berserk rage. But in just a minute, he'll pass out cold."

Wolverine raised an eyebrow skeptically. "What? That really sounds risky," he replied, his voice tinged with concern. "This big fella is strong, but he'll be twice as strong if we inject him."

Beast nodded, acknowledging the risk. "I know, but it's our best shot. You just need to hold him off for that one minute."

"Wait, hold on!" Wolverine exclaimed as Beast vanished into hiding, ready to seize the moment to inject Juggernaut. Left with no choice but to confront Juggernaut head-on, Wolverine braced himself for the inevitable clash.

"I'm gonna rip you all apart!!" Juggernaut roared angrily, his voice echoing with rage as he charged straight at Wolverine with tremendous power, unstoppable in his fury.

As Juggernaut charged towards Wolverine with terrifying speed, Wolverine muttered a curse under his breath, readying himself for the impending battle. "Fuck this shit," he growled, his sharp claws shining as he braced himself to confront the unstoppable power of Juggernaut.

[Meanwhile Rogue and Mystique Side]

In the middle of all the fighting, Rogue was trying to figure things out when Mystique suddenly turned into a leopard and hit her hard in the stomach. Rogue was taken by surprise and couldn't defend herself in time.

Gasping for breath, Rogue barely had time to process the attack before Mystique transformed once more, this time into an eagle, delivering another swift blow before Rogue could react.

"As long as I can hit you before you can use your power, I win," Mystique taunted, her voice dripping with confidence as she exploited Rogue's momentary vulnerability.

.......

[Meanwhile Peter Parker side]

Peter felt a surge of determination as he witnessed Rogue's struggle against Mystique. Despite Harry's warning to stay put, Peter couldn't ignore the call to action.

"I gotta help her," Peter declared, his voice filled with resolve.

But Harry grabbed his arm, his grip firm. "Hey, that mutant said that we have to stay here with these people," he reminded Peter, gesturing to the panicked students, teachers, and visitors around them. "Besides, we can't win against someone like that. I mean, she can transform into anything."

Peter met Harry's gaze, his eyes reflecting a sense of duty. "I know, but I have to do something," he insisted. Then, locking eyes with Harry, he invoked the timeless wisdom of Spider-Man. "Harry, You know, Spider-Man used to say, 'With great power, comes great responsibility,'" This iconic phrase resonated with Peter, reinforcing his sense of duty.

"And I can't ignore that phrase," he emphasized, his tone firm. "I have to help her because my conscience won't allow me to stand by."

With determination fueling his actions, Peter broke free from Harry's grasp and sprinted toward the unfolding confrontation between Rogue and Mystique. As he reached for a nearby stone, he aimed it at Mystique with precision.

"You idiot!" Harry exclaimed, his voice filled with concern and frustration.

Mary Jane, watching anxiously, called out to Peter, her voice laced with worry. "Peter, be safe!" she urged, hoping for his well-being amidst the chaos.

........

Meanwhile

As Mystique continued to taunt Rogue, who was kneeling on the ground wounded, a sudden impact interrupted her speech.

"Aurg!!" Mystique exclaimed in pain as she was struck by a rock. She quickly turned to see a young man with glasses nearby, realizing he was the one who had thrown it. "You little!!" she spat out angrily, ready to retaliate.

But before she could make another move, someone grabbed her hand from behind. Mystique was taken aback, turning to see Rogue standing there, panting but determined.

"I finally caught you," Rogue said between breaths, her voice filled with exhaustion but also a sense of triumph. Despite her injuries, she had managed to seize the opportunity to apprehend Mystique, refusing to let her escape again.

Rogue, feeling stronger and more determined than ever, used her mutant power. As she held onto Mystique's hand tightly, her skin started to glow softly. She was absorbing Mystique's memories and abilities.

"Aurgh!!!" Mystique exclaimed as she felt herself growing weaker, struggling in vain to break free from Rogue's grasp. But her efforts were futile, as Rogue's mutant power continued to absorb her strength.

"Don't worry, I didn't steal your power. This will only last for 2 hours, that's all I needed to subdue you," Rogue assured Mystique, her voice filled with determination.

"You!!!" Mystique seethed, her voice full of anger as she tried to break free from Rogue's hold. Even though she was weaker now, her determination to fight back was clear. She glared fiercely at Rogue, showing that she wasn't giving up, no matter what. Mystique's eyes burned with defiance, as if she was saying, "I won't give in, even if I'm down."

"Alright, see ya later, Master," Rogue said firmly, not backing down as she punched Mystique hard in the face, knocking her to the ground.

After delivering the decisive blow to Mystique, Rogue turned her attention to Peter Parker, who had assisted her in the confrontation.

"What's your name?" she inquired, her tone curious yet filled with a hint of amusement.

Peter stuttered nervously, his voice trembling slightly. "My name i-is P-Peter Parker, Ma'am," he replied, his eyes wide with a mix of awe and apprehension.

Rogue chuckled softly at his nervousness, a playful glint in her eyes. "Call me Rogue," she said with a smirk, her tongue darting out to lick her lips in a seductive manner.

...........

[Storm side]

Meanwhile, Storm and Arclight engaged in a fierce battle, their powers clashing amidst the chaos of the mutant war.

As Storm summoned a powerful tornado, she made sure to be careful. She didn't want to hurt any innocent people with it.

Arclight, however, swiftly evaded the tornado and retaliated with another devastating shockwave, catching Storm off guard.

"Aurgh!!" Storm exclaimed in pain as she felt the impact of Arclight's attack.

With a smirk, Arclight taunted Storm, confident in her superiority. "Give up, Storm. You can't beat me," she declared arrogantly.

But Storm wasn't a type to give up. She looked determined and confident as she replied, "No, I already beat you."

Storm, controlling the weather, to move the nearby cars, forming a circle around Archlight. Then, with a bolt of lightning, she made the cars explode, trapping Arclight in the wreckage.

"Nononon!!!!" Arclight cried out desperately. Then, she was hit by the explosion, knocking her out cold.

It became evident that Storm had been leading Arclight into a strategic trap, using her environment to gain the upper hand in their intense showdown.

.......

[Cyclops side]

Meanwhile, Cyclops and Jean found themselves overwhelmed by the sheer number of mutant adversaries they faced.

"Tsk, They are to many!!" Cyclops muttered in frustration as he unleashed his powerful laser beams from his eyes, aiming to thin out their opposition.

"I agree, Scott," Jean responded, her telekinetic abilities allowing her to push back another mutant who attempted to close in on them.

Just as they seemed to have the situation somewhat under control, a new threat emerged. A mutant with the power of generating spikes suddenly launched an attack towards Jean, catching her off guard.

"Be careful, Jean!" Cyclops called out in alarm, his concern evident in his voice as he witnessed the danger.

But before the spike could reach Jean, a figure appeared in a flash of light, moving with incredible speed. It was Quicksilver, arriving just in time to intercept the attack aimed at Jean.

"Sup, Lady," Quicksilver greeted Jean with a casual tone, his flirtatious manner obvious as he spoke to her. Despite the chaos of battle around them, he seemed completely unfazed.
