[SAKURA]
Unbothered, was what Kiyomi had been determined to be this evening. She had heard the rumors about the queen who did the impossible and who made everyone bend to her will, so this wasn't supposed to be surprising for her.
But then, a part of Kiyomi broke with the way the queen stared at Bazyli. Maybe the broken rogue Lycan was overthinking this, but then here she was, with the mad woman who had forced a contract on her, and the man who wanted her head.
"What?" Kiyomi whispered as she watched the woman and the Russian staring at each other. There was something in those eyes, something that Kiyomi Kimura wasn't sure of, even though she wanted to be sure.
Granted, she had no reason to be jealous of whatever Sakura did, but this time, she was and hopelessly so. The pang in her chest made her feel like the world was just a huge chess board and she was another useless piece. But was she?
"I won't give you a lethal injection, Kiyomi. I'll only give you something that will break your soul," Sakura said to Kiyomi who was watching in surprise.
This wasn't what she had expected, but then what could the crazy woman do that could break her already broken soul? It wasn't like Sakura was ready to undo the damned marriage she had forced Kiyomi into, right?
Kiyomi had long given up on everything, so it didn't matter to her what the queen did. She was still going to get her body dumped among the wastes, right? So, it wasn't like there was something for her to fight for anyway.
She was only glad that at the moment, the crazy queen hadn't thought of trying to do something to Elif, because that would truly break Kiyomi's soul. Perhaps the queen had miscalculated this time, and Kiyomi smirked at her proudly.
"Yeah, right, get on with it then," Kiyomi said as she stared at the duo boredly. Maybe she didn't want to give in to what was in her mind, the thought of the queen and the damned mob leader, because that would ruin her.
Granted, she wasn't about to lay a claim on the mad queen, but the fact that this damned woman was what the fates had decided on for her, made Kiyomi's blood boil. This wasn't fair in so many ways, and she knew that. Perhaps she had to live through it?
"You never mentioned she was feisty, Sakura," Bazyli said as he walked past Sakura and sat on the seat opposite her, something that got Kiyomi releasing a relieved sigh that even she had realized she had been holding in.
At that, Bazyli smirked at her, like he knew something she didn't.
"Careful, baby. She might kill the both of us for even holding our gazes," Sakura said and Bazyli let out a light yet nervous laugh. It was almost like he could tell from the face Kiyomi was giving the both of them.
Bazyli had gotten a text from his guards about what Kiyomi had done and frankly, when Kiyomi walked in through the door, covered in dirt and looking like she had endured all the phases of hell, Bazyli had been confused.
She looked nothing like what his people had told him of her, but then seeing her beside the Lycan queen had to mean something, because, at the end of the day, this was a species that even he didn't want to mess with.
"Lemme guess, this isn't you responding to my call to help us apprehend her, is it?" Bazyli asked as he looked at Kiyomi, who was wearing a blank face, while Sakura chuckled deeply.
"I knew you were smart, baby. You know what to do then, huh?" Sakura said to the Russian mob leader who stared at her in disbelief. Surely the mad woman wasn't saying what he thought she was at the moment, right?
Kiyomi was watching curiously, like she wanted to know what the mad queen had planned for her. She knew it wouldn't be anything good by then it wasn't like there was anything else that she could do at the moment, right?
So much had happened and yet so little had come to light. There was a lot that was going on in Kiyomi's head that the queen's little stunts didn't mean shit to her. But then was that the case even as they both progressed?
"How long is this going to take with your baby?" Kiyomi asked, clearly not liking it.
"Patience, petal. You're an object of trade, sweetheart. I never heard tomatoes make demands in the markets," Sakura said and Kiyomi growled at her as if she wasn't already aware that Sakura was never going to be nicer to her.
The woman had sworn to break her soul, perhaps this was it?
"You know I can't do that, Sakura. They will have my head if I let her go, especially after everything she did to my father. I can't let you leave too," Bazyli said, his tone apologetic right as the doors to his office opened and in came twelve armed men.
"It's nothing personal, you should know that too. A life for a life," Bazyli added, his tone hardening as he looked at Kiyomi and Sakura.
"So, the romance didn't work, now we're back to weapons, eh?" Kiyomi sighed as she stared at the human.
"Listen here, you entitled little Russian shit. I didn't kill your father. Someone else did and they made damn sure I was implicated. I know that doesn't mean shit to you and your fucking Saki, but it is the truth," Kiyomi tried and Sakura chuckled amusedly.
The little pet she had gotten was not just feisty but crazy too. No one in their right mind would ever talk to the Russian mob leader like that and yet where Kiyomi was like this didn't mean anything to her.
"Take her," Bazyli ordered and Kiyomi prepared herself for a fight. She was certain Sakura wouldn't defend her so she had to give herself the benefit of the doubt even though she was tired and could feel her head spinning.
"Try me, you worthless humans," Kiyomi said right at the moment Sakura spoke.
"I wouldn't do that, if I were you, baby."
"Why the fuck you gotta call him baby? Is that his name or what?" Kiyomi growled subconsciously before her mind could even register what she had said, and when she caught up, the Lycan queen was staring at her curiously.
"I don't have time for this, clean this up," Bazyli ordered as he walked out of the room while more Russians stomped in to fight the queen and her psycho. No matter what happened, they would get the woman who killed their master.
"Yaa!!" the Russians shouted as they headed for Kiyomi, but before they could reach her, Sakura spoke.
"His name is Bazbylika Ivankov."
"What?"
"That's why I call him baby," Sakura explained and Kiyomi stared at the woman like she had a few screws too loose in her head. They were about to have their asses handed to them and the woman still had the nerve to give her an explanation?
"I don't care," Kiyomi said even though she was visibly relaxed at Sakura's explanation. Her Lycan that was raging and ready to cause more chaos had toned down and it was beyond what Kiyomi could explain.
Perhaps it was because the mate she had been given was acknowledging her. But that's what Sakura was doing or was the woman playing games with her like she had earlier on? There was no telling, but Kiyomi was relieved.
"Yeah, I figured," Sakura said before she began breaking the bones of everyone who had been left to attack them.
She was faster than anyone Kiyomi had seen. Her movements were like a blur and if it hadn't been for the endless crunchy sounds in the room, Kiyomi could have been certain she was hallucinating.
There was just no way this psycho had defended her.
"Don't leave the city," Sakura said once she was done and Kiyomi was staring at a bundle of broken bodies. None of them were dead, but they would stay a little too long in the hospital for their recovery.
"Huh?" a confused Kiyomi asked.
"Otaru already found whoever administered the injection, if you still wish to know. But don't you leave the city," Sakura began as Kiyomi was still trying to come to terms with the new reality.
"... Otherwise, I won't be able to keep an eye on you, and might just kill you myself, if the Russians don't beat me to it," Sakura added and Kiyomi stared at her incredulously. This woman was confusing as fuck.
"What the fuck is that even supposed to mean?"
"You have your freedom, petal, use it wisely before I come for it. And make sure you survive," Sakura said as she created a portal and disappeared through it, leaving Kiyomi standing there confused as hell.
There was no telling what Sakura Watanabe ever wanted and now, she was alone in a Russian building filled with crazed guards who would probably want to kill her for the shit that Sakura had done to their friends.
"Great… Just great, Kiyomi," the woman sighed frustratedly when she heard the sound of more footsteps toward her, after failing to create a portal out of this hell hole. There was only one person powerful enough to block other Lycans from creating portals.
The mad queen.
Oh, but one of these days she was going to kill Sakura herself.
