Amelia quickly sent a location message to the robots to have her luggage delivered.
By the time she finished packing, her two roommates still hadn't opened their doors.
It seemed that her roommates weren't very easy to get along with!
But at the moment, that wasn't important. What mattered was that Amelia decided to continue praying that Ethan wouldn't show up at the freshmen's opening ceremony later!
If it weren't for the ceremony counting as credits, Amelia would have just wanted to skip it altogether!
For the next half day, Amelia quickly familiarized herself with everything about the school while also grabbing a meal at the cafeteria.
She couldn't help but notice that the cafeteria food was far inferior to what she had at home.
But she understood that people didn't care much about gourmet food when resources were limited.
At other schools, they didn't even have cafeterias; students were given nutrient solutions to consume.
It was only at Beylincoln University, as the highest-spec school in the entire Imperial Federation, that they had such a rare facility as a cafeteria.
However, Amelia was picky about food. She remembered there was a large area in the dormitory lounge that was currently vacant.
She could ask for her roommates' opinions later and turn that empty space into a makeshift kitchen.
Of course, living in the dormitory wasn't convenient for cooking. She would need to buy a house soon, which would make it easier for her to do live broadcasts in the future.
In the blink of an eye, it was almost two o'clock in the afternoon, the time for the opening ceremony.
As Amelia was about to leave her room, the door on the left opened first, and a redhead girl stepped out.
The girl had deep features and fair skin. When she saw Amelia, she hesitated for a moment.
Amelia smiled graciously, "Hello, I'm Amelia from the Medical School."
"Which district are you from?"
"The Third District."
Hearing that it was the Third District, the redhead girl's pride remained undiminished.
Without introducing herself, she tossed her long hair and walked away without waiting for Amelia's response.
Amelia wasn't bothered. Beylincoln University was the highest-ranking academy in the entire Interstellar Federation; there were undoubtedly many talented individuals here.
There were aristocrats with deep backgrounds, geniuses with exceptional intelligence, and talented individuals with significant backgrounds.
Amelia guessed that her roommate probably had a high status.
Just as Amelia was about to leave, the other door opened, and a petite girl with short brown hair stepped out.
She glanced at Amelia, "You're required to wear the school uniform for the opening ceremony."
The uniforms had already been distributed to the students, and there was a built-in washing machine.
You could just throw it in, and in three minutes, it would be washed, dried, and ironed.
"Thank you. We still have time. Would you like to go to the auditorium together?"
"Sure."
As Amelia dried her uniform, she chatted with her new roommate. She learned that her name was Emily, and they were in the same major. Emily was from the Tenth District.
When Emily mentioned she was from the Tenth District, Amelia remained calm, but Emily seemed a bit surprised.
As she arrived here and heard that she was from the Tenth District, many people showed expressions of surprise, disdain, or pity.
But her new roommate didn't even raise an eyebrow?
Emily furrowed her brows slightly, about to speak, when the dormitory door rang again. The redhead girl who had just left hurried back.
She saw Amelia and Emily both wearing their uniforms and immediately complained, "Why didn't anyone remind me to wear the uniform?"
"We just found out too. Hurry up and put your clothes in the washing machine, or you won't make it in time," Amelia replied.
The redhead girl gave her a glare but complied.
Even a young lady like her was afraid of losing credits.
Amelia called out to her retreating figure, "Do you want to wait for us to go to the auditorium together?"
The young lady replied coldly, "No need for you to wait!"
Alright then, if she said no need, Amelia wouldn't waste words. She turned to Emily and said, "Emily, let's go ahead then."
Emily nodded.
As they walked towards the auditorium, Emily suddenly spoke up, "Her name is Grace, and she's in the same major as us. She's from the First District, a native, her father is a general, and her older sister is the current king's wife, Her Royal Highness the Queen."
With such a background, Grace indeed had the capital to be arrogant.
Before she got married, Amelia would have been surprised to hear about her roommate's illustrious background.
But now, just thinking about the big shot listed in her spouse's column, even if the real King Daniel stood in front of her, she could remain as calm as water.
And Amelia's composure made Emily look at her differently. Unable to resist her curiosity, Emily asked, "Aren't you surprised, Amelia?"
"Surprised about what? Grace's background? It's alright. That's because her family is powerful. But now that we're here, we're all equal. We're all freshmen at Beylincoln University, and it's all about individual capabilities."
"But I..."
"You mean about being from the Tenth District? Then I'm not surprised, just admiring. We all know the disparity in education levels between the districts and the various conditions required to apply to Beylincoln University. Let me put it this way: It's easiest for people from the First District to get in and hardest for people from the Tenth District, so, Emily, you're really amazing!"
Amelia's eyes seemed to sparkle with starlight, leaving the girl from the poor district stunned.
Amelia knew her new friend was sensitive, so she spoke sincerely. Over time, the other girl would understand what kind of person she was.
As they chatted, they arrived at the school auditorium.
They were seated according to their student numbers.
Before long, the disdainful Grace, who had looked down on them, ended up sitting next to them.
Many people came to greet Grace, who acted like a proud peacock, raising her chin and only sparing a few words for a select few.
Amelia found it amusing, but it didn't spark any special thoughts in her mind. When she turned her head, she noticed Emily beside her, lips pressed together, hands resting on her knees, slightly bent.
She seemed a bit nervous and uncomfortable, not used to this.
"Emily, I want to build a kitchen in the empty space in the lounge. Do you have any objections?" Amelia asked.
"A kitchen? I don't mind," Emily replied, clearly distracted by Amelia's change of topic. She asked curiously, "Are you going to cook?"
"Yes, I went to the cafeteria for lunch today and found it terrible, so I plan to cook for myself."
Emily was very impressed. "You can cook? That's amazing!"
Emily wasn't exaggerating. In this day and age, people who could cook were extremely rare. For kids like them from the poor districts, some had never even tasted fried rice.
Before Amelia could respond to Emily's compliment, Grace, who had been ignored for a while, turned her head and snorted, "Really? Is your cooking delicious?"
Amelia smiled, "It should be alright."
Grace said coldly, "Alright then. If your cooking is good, you can use the space in the lounge. If it's bad, I'll have the kitchen torn down immediately!"
Even though she agreed, this young lady had to speak so arrogantly.
Amelia was about to laugh and say that Grace could taste her cooking later, but suddenly she saw a crowd of people surrounding someone, approaching them.
She froze in place!
