Liang Hongyu, a resilient survivor from a post-apocalyptic world, finds herself reborn in the body of a woman in the Great Yuan Dynasty—a fictional era not recorded in Chinese history. As she awakens, Liang Hongyu, now living in a modest yellow mud-tiled house, begins to process the memories of her body's former owner and the era she now inhabits. She learns about her new life and the people in it, particularly her "husband," Huo Tianzhou, a mute young man of 18 years who had been taking care of her during her illness.

Liang Hongyu's new existence is fraught with challenges. The original owner of her body, also named Liang Hongyu, had married into Huo Tianzhou's family out of gratitude and necessity. After the deaths of both her mother-in-law and her father-in-law, the household fell into debt, and their land and house were constantly coveted by greedy relatives.

Determined to survive and fulfill her promise to her mother-in-law, Liang Hongyu decides to repay the debts and find a new way to support the household. She quickly realizes that their immediate need is food, and despite Huo Tianzhou's silent objections, she plans to return to the mountains to gather resources.

Married And Getting Rich In Ancient Times

Standing at the stove, her movements looked natural and relaxed.

Watching her back, Huo Tianzhou felt a strange sense of unease.

Noticing the fire weakening, he turned his attention back to the medicine pot and opened it with a damp cloth to check.

Liang Hongyu quickly cooked the egg soup and added some chopped scallions at the end.

Meanwhile, Huo Tianzhou poured out the brewed medicine.

Liang Hongyu poured the egg soup into two bowls.

Just as she was about to drink it, Huo Tianzhou pushed his bowl over to stop her, causing some of the medicine to spill over the rim.

Before Liang Hongyu could react, Huo Tianzhou covered the pot, turned around, and took an hourglass from the corner.

He placed it on the stove and gestured towards the medicine in her hand.

Watching Huo Tianzhou leave, Liang Hongyu turned her head back to the bowl of dark medicine in her hand with a troubled expression.

Huo Tianzhou lost his father at the age of five and lived alone with his mother ever since.

When he was seven, he had a severe illness that damaged his vocal cords, and despite numerous consultations, his mother found no cure for him.

His mother worked tirelessly to support the family, but in Huo Tianzhou's fourteenth year, she succumbed to illness due to overwork.

Speaking of his mother, Liang Hongyu had a lot of respect for her.

Father Huo had a tough life as well.
