Going To Town (Part 2)

The tie of her clothes was not fastened, and the front hung open at her waist.

Her tan-colored skin and slim waist were clearly visible, making an even alluring impression as she moved.

Huo Tianzhou averted his gaze, for some reason he felt his body was hot.

The cold well water had refreshed Liang Hongyu during her bath.

As she walked out of the bathhouse, she wiped her face and casually tied the string of her garment.

She looking up and saw Huo Tianzhou tidying up the bamboo strips, which had left bits of bamboo all over him.

Today was market day, and Liang Hongyu had returned early to make a trip to town, hoping to sell some stuff that she get from the wild and bring back some household supplies.

Her gaze shifted from Huo Tianzhou's busy figure to the living animals in her basket.

She went back to her room, put on her clothes, and fastened her belt.

After tidying up the excess bamboo strips in the woodshed, Huo Tianzhou returned to the backyard.

When he saw Liang Hongyu carrying her basket was about to leave.

He walked over and took out his money pouch.

Liang Hongyu looked down at the money pouch but did not reach out to take it.

The courtyard was still not tidied up.

So, Huo Tianzhou just like he had done with the eggs in the morning, stuffed the money pouch into her hand directly.

As he withdrew his hand, Liang Hongyu felt the calluses on his palm and noticed a few new small cuts on his fingertips.

"Did you sell all the bamboo crafts?" Liang Hongyu asked him.

Huo Tianzhou hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Liang Hongyu weighed the money pouch in her hand.

The weight was light, indicating not only that he had sold them but it's also likely at a very low price.

The household debt required a partial repayment each month, with payments due at the end of the month.

Since it was only mid-month, there was no need for her to have the money now.

"Why are you giving this to me? Keep it yourself."

Huo Tianzhou stopped and looked back at her, puzzled.

Seeing that he didn't understand her intention, Huo Tianzhou considered going to the kitchen to get charcoal but remembered the last time he used charcoal to write, it was not well received.

Instead, he pulled her hand over and wrote in her palm.

As she realized what the words were, Liang Hongyu was momentarily speechless.

She had forgotten about this detail.

It took nearly an hour to reach the town from the village by ox cart.

The villagers who wanted to save a few copper coins would leave early in the morning to walk there.

At this hour, if she didn't take the ox cart, she might not make it by the afternoon.

In the end, Liang Hongyu took the money.

After some thought, she asked Huo Tianzhou if he wanted to go along.
