Going To Town (Part 1)

Normally, apart from selling bamboo crafts to supplement the household income, he would be busy in the fields.

The only farm work that needed attention recently was sowing rice seeds.

During dinner last night, he mentioned the timing, so Huo Tianzhou shouldn't be idle or wandering off on his own.

Liang Hongyu thought for a moment and found it very possible that he was busy with work.

Carrying items on her back and in her hands, she unlocked the door and entered the house, heading to the backyard.

There, she saw a small pile of bamboo strips in the spot where she had sharpened bamboo spikes that morning.

The bamboo strips were very fresh and it's likely cut from the mountain after she had left.

The tools for carving them were placed on the stone slab, and fine bamboo shavings were scattered nearby, blown by the wind.

It seemed Huo Tianzhou had left temporarily and hadn't been gone for long.

Ruling out the possibility that he had gone to the fields, Liang Hongyu decided there was no need to check if the rice seeds were there.

She set down her baskets and went into the kitchen, finding a basin to store the honeycomb.

She turned around to get some water.

Picking up a ladle and opening the water jar, Liang Hongyu paused when she saw her reflection on the still water's surface.

Experiencing transmigration was surprising enough, but seeing that she looked exactly the same like the original owner of this body still amazed her.

After a brief moment of surprise, Liang Hongyu used the ladle to scoop half a ladle of water, dispersing her reflection.

Her clothes were dirty from rolling on the ground, and she was sweaty and uncomfortable.

Liang Hongyu carried a large bucket of water to the bathing room.

The woodshed had a spot for storing Huo Tianzhou's finished bamboo crafts.

That morning, when Liang Hongyu went in to find some tools, the bamboo crafts were stacked as high as her waist.

Now, after changing into a clean set of clothes in her room, she glanced at the woodshed from the backyard and noticed that the spot where the bamboo crafts had been stored was completely empty.

Since discovering that the bamboo crafts were difficult to sell in town, Huo Tianzhou hadn't taken any to the market for a long time.

Liang Hongyu looked back at the somewhat messy backyard and wondered if it was likely that Huo Tianzhou had suddenly decided to take the crafts to sell door-to-door.

However, she quickly dismissed the thought and went into the bathhouse.

If Huo Tianzhou really wanted to go, she couldn't stop him.

...

After loading the items onto the cart and pulling it away, Huo Tianzhou returned home.

As he entered the courtyard, he saw Liang Hongyu, who had just finished her bath and was walking out of the bathhouse with her head down.

The water droplets dripped down her face, and she was wearing only an inner garment.
