Chapter 35 The Realization of Being Abandoned by the World

Annan glimpsed into the depths of Demon Dragon Nicholas's heart and saw memories that weren't exactly the same as what had truly unfolded.

Nicholas had believed, until his death, that he was the one who had killed his foster father Isaac—and had proceeded forward without ever looking back, burdened with the resolve that there was "no turning back."

Compared to his biological father, who after bringing him into this world did nothing more for him beyond finding him a foster father, Isaac was undoubtedly closer to his real father and at the same time his mother.

But it was only after the "dead" Isaac explained the matter himself did Annan understand there was another side to this history.

Nicholas had indeed plotted to kill Isaac.

But Isaac did not die from it.

Even being betrayed by his own foster son, he did not react with anger, despair, or filled with resentment. Instead, he remained rational, seeking to understand the reasons behind the betrayal.
