Chapter 56: Startled out of a deadly illness, urgently needing to replenish calories

The blade swished through, and the Bird Monster fell to the ground, into pieces.

Foam writhed and sealed itself, remaking his form; this time, he was even shorter.

The Bird Monster looked dumbfoundedly at Wayne, whose appearance had greatly changed, his mind a mushy mess. Wanting to say something but not knowing how to express it, he asked in confusion, "Blasphemer, do you also know Life Magic?"

After merging with The Book of Greed, Wayne's height had reached three meters, and his disease-gray skin was wrinkled and veiny. Although the overall shape was human, his face had no features, and a vertical slit in his chest housed a massive single eye.

Several pitch-black lines stretched from the eye's corner to the abdomen, adding a spine-chilling horror to the ghastly gray body – it was clear that the Great Eyeball was the main focus.

The massive eyeball oscillated, focusing on the Bird Monster. A concentrated wave of mental force turned into a beam and violently struck its target.
