48 - Vacation 3

Week has gone by since our vacation has started. There's no bigger event happened in this time period. As me and Chikako discussed with Chinatsu san, we have started daily practice in training ground 10. In Just week time, Chikako already started to get bored. Even i am, constant training can cause issue so we have decided take one day break in week. Of course its Sunday. And one extra day of in month. We can decide that day our self. 

As Chikako's mother already knows about schedule of Chikako's training, I don't need to go to his home and fetch him. Aunty make sure he arrives here on time. Nara's basic tendency for laziness never gets old. He sometimes sleep during training of Kenbunshoku no Haki. But its enjoyable for me, I can break his sleep via throwing ball straight at his face. Hehehehe

About training, of Chikako's shadow possession jutsu, he doesn't made any progress in that part. But still as i suggested before, he is increasing his range for shadow possession jutsu. For that he started practicing lead sticking exercise constantly, as suggested by Chinatsu san. I also got to know about moniker for Chinatsu san "Shadow Demon". He is expert in manipulating shadow, actually number one in whole Nara clan. Pity, Nara clan, appreciates intelligence above their clan jutsu. In my old world, i would also prefer intelligence but in this world strength gives you respect.

And Kenbunshoku no Haki, now Chikako can dodge 1 ball out 100 balls. So he progressing in that part. Before he's dodge percent was only around half. But still, his perseverance is quite high for normal Nara. Other would have alredy started giving up on technique, but its different for Chikako, when he targets something he wholeheartedly pursues that. And i acknowledged that quality about him. 

As we were training in evening, after Chikako completed his shadow possession jutsu training,

"How much you were able to increase range of your shadow?"

Chikako: "I was able to increase my range of shadow around 2 meters. Leaf sticking exercise if helping me about it."

"And how about strength? Can you hold me for sometime?"

Chikako: "I don't know."

"Let's try. I will try to release from your jutsu without Chakra of course. Try to hold me in one place. You have watch right. Measure time. We will weekly measure and write it on that tree."

Chikako: "Instead of stump why not scroll."

"Your wish. We can also measure speed, your range. We can constantly measure them write it as list. You should also try to measure distance between 2 points without any scales. So you can now if you should use jutsu or not with that distance, so you wont constantly waste chakra via using jutsu without any effectiveness."

Chikako looked at me.

Chikako: "That can be considered better approach. In fight it will effective."

"Might be or might be not."

Chikako got angry with my answer.

Chikako: "Than why the fuck you suggested."

"Fights have many variables. What i have suggested is only one variable? Terrain is one variable, your teammates are another, your emotions, etc. This also affects your performance in battle. You can't do every jutsu with predefined variables and during the fight this variables changes."

Chikako nodded listening this.

"Wow, Nara is listening to me about knowledge. World must be coming to end."

Bonk. Fist hit me. I knew I had this coming. 

"You know, I will have permanent bump on my head if you keep hitting me like this."

Chikako: "That would be nice. Your face will look nice like that." Bonk. This time I hit him.

Chikako: "Okay lets stop this. How should i determine and use this variables in fight?"

"Experience. There's no other way. You need to proficient in Shogi. So you can move variables in fight. And yes, your teammates are also variables. Or should i say pawn?"

Chikako: "Isn't that too harsh?"

"No, leader can't save every one. He should know who is king and who is pawn."

Chikako: "So you think yourself as King."

"No I am pawn. Just normal swordsman. In future, max i can be is knight."

Chikako: "So who is king?"

I smiled at him. I know this cliche but he need to find it himself. I know who is king. I can tell him. But treasure found by oneself has more value, than directly given inheritance.

"Find out yourself. Who is king in this 'world shogi game'?"

He looked me at curiously.

"Lets end this conversation for now. We are still young, so lets exercise. YOUTH." I shouted.

He looks confused and irritated by my shout.

"Common shout with me on three. One Two Three."

I think I heard echo.

Chikako: "Did you heard echo? Let's shout one more time." 

He also heard it.

"No no, let's start our training."

I don't want to meet crazy men now. Let's make that future experience. If Chikako finds out, who shouts Youth all the time, today will be my death day.
