Chapter 147 - Forbidden Feelings.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Romania.

...

...

Weeks had passed since Snape had been inside that painting while the vampires could do nothing but wait, with sentinels watching the painting for any changes. He remained in a continuous state ever since he began receiving the abilities of the Dark Monarch.

"He's losing strength... but at the same time, we can't go in there... Have the wizards managed to discover anything?" In the dining hall, several vampires were drinking blood served to them in goblets. They no longer hunted humans during this time, instead purchasing their blood, disguised as a government blood donation system in Romania.

It was a much simpler system and made their lives easier. Not only did it provide blood, but it also avoided terrorizing common humans or prompting groups to hunt them down.

"No, Father... None of them have figured out what is happening with the painting... no one can enter it either... we don't even know how that human you saw managed to get in there," Milicia, his eldest daughter, said while Dracula appeared deep in thought.

"It's been 16 days..." Dracula murmured, still pondering how that human was unlike anything he had ever seen. Though not altered in any discernible way, it was hard to believe that the human possessed such physical strength. At the same time, he radiated a powerful aura of death—more potent than anything Dracula had encountered in any other creature. Moreover, the human wielded unique magic, raising the question of whether the wizarding world was evolving once again.

"Lord Dracula... we'll stay as long as it takes. We won't let that human escape," one of the vampires at the table commented as Dracula nodded.

"Very well, we have no choice in this matter. Milicia, I want you to check on your sister... you know..." he said as the white-haired vampire nodded.

Rosaria was always distant from them, keeping away due to her aversion to the scent of the vampires present. While she found the smell of her family bearable, the stench from others was almost intolerable.

In her room, Rosaria was eating regular human food, lost in her own thoughts about everything that was happening.

Outside Romania, Snape was still considered a student on holiday within the country. However, those who corresponded with him noticed he no longer replied to their letters. There were no more responses, though few had written, such as Pandora, the Greengrass family, and some other individuals with business dealings.

The headmaster of Hogwarts had also tried contacting him during this time but had received no replies since sending his invitation to Hogwarts.

"Are you certain you're going, Albus?" a painting asked as Dumbledore prepared for his trip, organizing the final details to leave the school for a while. Only a few professors were present, preparing for the start of the term in less than a month.

"I have no choice. I'll have to meet Snape in person since he isn't answering my letters and declined my initial invitation to come here. I had prepared for this, knowing I would deal with him now, without the students around," he muttered.

"I think you're being overly paranoid about this student, Dumbledore. You already wagered on the girl and gained nothing. By Merlin... you used that potion on her... because of that, you know you're doing things that would bring shame to all of us," a woman who had once been a headmistress said from her painting.

"You don't understand. I need to protect the wizarding world! Snape is as dangerous as the other one, perhaps even worse... I dismissed the second despite his dangerous thoughts and the direction the wizarding world has taken... We must keep an eye on him and understand what he has become, for that is no longer the boy I once knew," Dumbledore said with a stern tone.

"I just hope you're doing the right thing, Dumbledore. Because, as far as I know, the boy isn't acting like the current Dark Lord," another painting remarked.

"He may not be hunting Muggles, but he is hunting wizards. All those deaths that happened are connected to Snape. Yet, somehow, he managed to make it seem as if he had nothing to do with what happened," Dumbledore commented, holding a newspaper from weeks ago.

It was an edition reporting that Snape had visited the Ministry of Magic and given his testimony, even under the effects of Veritaserum, clarifying everything unrelated to the deaths of dark wizards and the patriarch of a major family. He appeared in one of the last pages of the paper, in a small segment.

"As I said, I hope you are right," repeated the portrait.

Dumbledore simply sighed and looked at Fawkes, the phoenix. "Come with me, my friend. I'll need you," he murmured. He didn't know what he would find where Snape was living, and if a conflict arose, he might require her help, as he was unaware of the young man's current powers.

Dumbledore began leaving the room. He walked over to one of the fireplaces, threw in Floo Powder, and disappeared, reappearing a few kilometers away from where Snape lived. He already knew the location in advance. Pulling a magical cart from his bag, he sat on it, and it began to move invisibly. The cart ascended into the air and headed toward a hill, arriving in less than ten minutes.

It was a peaceful area with the sound of waves crashing against the beach and cliffs below, accompanied by strong winds and a dense forest near a simple two-story house.

Dumbledore dismounted from the cart and approached the entrance of Snape's house. However, the house was entirely closed, and there didn't seem to be anyone there. He knocked on the door, but there was no answer.

"Snape!" he called out, but again, nothing happened, which seemed to frustrate him.

Dumbledore then looked around and noticed a nearby cliff with several marks of destruction on the ground. Despite Snape frequently using magic to repair it, there were still signs of something unusual. He went to the area and observed the site, intrigued.

"So he's been training... What kind of magic is this?" he murmured, fascinated.

Dumbledore was impressed to see that Snape had been developing his own spells. Using a revealing spell, he detected an intense electrical energy. He knew Snape had spells related to thunder and lightning from what he had heard, but he didn't know the specifics. Even so, what he saw there left him in awe.

"It's clear that I'll have to confront him only at the school. I'll have to handle him there," Dumbledore said decisively, realizing that Snape wasn't there. It seemed he had left the house days ago.

After this, Dumbledore was forced to return to his cart and head back to the school, preparing for the next Order of the Phoenix meeting. He also needed to ready himself to deal with Snape. He might even need help from his colleagues but would have to act without involving Lily. After all, she would try to protect Snape, and the headmaster of Hogwarts understood why.

Meanwhile, at her home, Lily sighed deeply as she lay alone in her bed, staring at the ceiling. She was facing certain inner conflicts lately, trying to better understand her strange condition.

Every day, she thought about Snape. She had sent several letters throughout the entire holiday addressed to him, hoping he would pick them up from the magical post, but she had received no response. It was agonizing for her because she had no news about him, not even knowing if he collected her letters. Lily was ready to go to him if necessary, but the lack of replies frustrated her. The last image she had of him was of Snape climbing onto the roof of her house and casting a Specter Patronus spell.

"This isn't normal..." Lily murmured to herself, trying to make sense of everything.

She began to conclude that she might be under the effects of a love potion, given how these feelings had developed. However, she didn't know how to deal with it or who could have done such a thing. She didn't trust anyone anymore because for something like this to have occurred, whoever was responsible had to be someone close. She briefly considered Snape as a suspect but dismissed the idea. He had always treated her distantly and never showed any direct romantic interest, let alone enough to do something so cruel.

Moreover, the love potion seemed to be influencing her in ways she couldn't ignore. Lily deluded herself, telling herself that Snape wasn't bad, that he would never do anything to hurt her. Deep down, she knew that wasn't true, but the idea of Snape being "perfect" kept invading her mind—her ideal match, the love of her life. She hadn't told anyone about this because she didn't know how to explain it or who could help. The fear of discovering the origin of these feelings consumed her.

"I need to talk to Snape... I need to understand what's happening. Maybe I can help him too..." she said quietly, deciding to act. Despite this, a part of her just wanted to see him, which made her even more confused. It was strange, conflicting, and agonizing.

"What should I do?" Lily murmured, staring at the ceiling of her bed again, lost in thought. The end of the holidays was approaching, and classes were set to resume on February 1st. She dreaded thinking about how difficult it would be to talk to Snape at this moment, which left her frustrated. But there was nothing else she could do now.

Meanwhile, there was a strange tension between Lily and her old friends. James Potter, especially, looked at her with anger almost all the time, making Lily hesitate in any interaction with him. The other Marauders seemed friendlier, but even so, Lupin gave her suspicious glances, which hurt her deeply.

"Snape..." she murmured, thinking of him again. She recalled seeing him training outside school a few times. The image of him exercising—sometimes shirtless—made her cheeks flush. Lily shook her head.

"No... not this again," she said, trying to push the thoughts away.

Even so, something inside her seemed to escape her control. Lily found herself thinking about inappropriate things, images, and scenarios she would never have imagined before. Her hands began to touch her own body. She felt her fingers squeezing her breasts as a small moan escaped her lips. Her eyes closed, and her mind was overtaken by erotic thoughts involving Snape without further resistance.

One of her hands slowly slid away from her breast, moving down to her pants, slipping into her underwear as she massaged her intimate parts while thinking about him. A louder moan echoed in her room, though no one could hear her. She was alone, lost in her own fantasy about someone she believed she loved. The conflicting and intense emotions consumed her; it felt wrong, which only seemed to excite her more.
