Chapter 180 - The daggers are ready!

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

"AHH!!" The woman's last scream echoed as Ouroboros watched her, before opening its fangs and lunging at her, the ground shattering as she was crushed to death right there.

The man met the same fate as the centaur, Voltaran, struck his chest with his yellow lightning spear, killing him instantly.

"My arm!!!" The eldest was the only one left alive, while his arm, the one holding his wand, was destroyed by a firebolt from Kargalgan, who used one of his powers.

The wand and arm were reduced to ashes as he fell to the ground, a good part of his body burned, as the heat had scorched his clothes and face, setting him on fire.

"Put out the fire." Severus said as he approached, with Kargalgan using his magic to extinguish the flames on the screaming wizard.

Ouroboros and Voltaran remained silent after killing their enemies, while the three shadows near them—the wizards Severus had summoned from the dead Norton family—were regenerating.

They had put up a somewhat interesting fight; even without speaking, they moved their wands in precise spells and executed them effectively, providing a decent initial battle against the Death Eaters. But since the shadows had their own levels and started below the power they had before being summoned, they eventually lost in a duel against the Death Eaters.

However, those same Death Eaters stood no chance when the three boss shadows took action. Even with Killing Curses and teleportation, the shadows were far superior. The basilisk had its natural resistance, while Voltaran had the speed to dodge, and Kargalgan used his own magic to distort space and evade the Killing Curse.

"You're strong... compared to those wizards I've faced, but in the end, you're nothing but weaklings compared to my shadows." Snape spoke as he stood before the man writhing on the ground in pain.

"Who are you?! What are these things!?" The man asked, now truly terrified.

"It's simple... I am the Shadow Monarch, and this is the Army of Darkness, a power beyond your comprehension and existence. But don't worry, you'll be part of it soon... as a soldier." Severus said, not caring to hide his sinister tone, nor feeling remorse for doing this to people like him.

"No! Wait!" The man wasn't stupid; he knew he was about to become a slave, just like those shadows created from the Norton family. That wasn't how he wanted his life to end.

"I am the patriarch of the Nott family! I have power and influence! Spare me!" He screamed as Snape raised an eyebrow.

"Hahahaha!" Snape laughed upon hearing that, his voice slipping through his disguise.

The man, still in immense pain and fear, barely registered what was happening until Snape began pulling back his hood, revealing nothing more than a young man.

"You know who I am... Severus Snape. The same boy you all tried to kill or abduct... I was going to kill you either way, but knowing that you're from that family, I wanted you to be aware of it." Snape said as the man's face turned pale.

He didn't even have a chance to react before Snape drew his sword and sliced off his head. The man died right there.

"Arise."

Three new shadows began to emerge from the three bodies.

"You can turn people into these things too..." Rosaria commented as she approached Snape.

"Are you afraid of me now?" Snape asked, looking at her.

"No... I'm just surprised." She admitted, unsure of what else to say.

"Either way, let's head back to Hogwarts. There's nothing left to do here, and the place is swarming with Aurors outside the barrier, trying to break in. This fight drew a lot of attention." Snape said as Fawkes appeared before them, vanishing the moment Kargalgan deactivated the barrier.

"The battle had immediately alerted the Ministry as smoke was seen rising into the sky while they advanced toward the grand house in that village, a home belonging to a very rich and mysterious family that everyone feared.

The Aurors arrived and were surprised to find a barrier forming around the property.

"What is this?!" Alastor Moody, who had come with his squad, looked at it in shock with his magical eye.

"What kind of barrier is this, sir Moody?" one Auror asked.

"I don't know… I've never seen this kind of magic before." He muttered, astonished. It was something completely unfamiliar to him, and the energy and magical intensity it radiated were unlike anything he had ever encountered.

More and more Aurors were called in as they surrounded the area, attempting to break the barrier, but to no avail. Then, spells began to fly inside the barrier—green flashes indicating Killing Curses being cast, followed by yellow and red hues taking over, signaling a powerful fire spell.

"Fiendfyre…" Moody murmured, wondering what was happening in there.

The battle continued, the colors of the spells still flashing from within. A massive firebolt suddenly shot through the barrier, soaring into the sky, leaving the Aurors stunned. Then, everything fell silent. The barrier slowly began to open, and they rushed inside.

As they entered through the broken gate, they found the mansion engulfed in flames, the entire area in ruins. Three burnt bodies lay on the grass, while three others were sprawled on the opposite side—one with its heart pierced and scorched, another crushed into the shattered ground, and the last one missing an arm and its head, severed by a blade.

"What kind of battle happened here…" one Auror murmured, completely baffled.

"We don't know… This is strange…" Moody approached some odd footprints on the ground, belonging to something that wasn't a giant, but just as massive.

'What are these things…' he murmured, deeply unsettled.

In the end, the bodies were identified—it was the Norton family, along with three members of other powerful families. But the most shocking discovery was the patriarch of the Nott family, who had also perished. Every single one of them bore the Dark Mark, revealing that they had worked for the Dark Lord.

"Write up a report and put out the fire before it spreads. We need to figure out what happened here… because whoever killed the last three wizards clearly escaped, and we can't track them…" He spoke, frustrated by the unsolvable case.

"Sir Moody! There are two Muggles here, apparently tortured… but alive, just unconscious." Someone reported.

"What is happening in magical Britain?!" was all he could mutter before getting back to work.

Snape returned to the Room of Requirement with Rosaria, both shedding their disguises.

"So… that was exciting. Shame it's over… So, was that a date?" she asked, glancing at Snape.

"Definitely not." Snape replied, giving her a strange look.

"But it was incredible. Can we have another?" she asked.

"I don't know… I was going to check out another house, but after the fight with the Death Eaters, I'll leave that for later. I'll spend the rest of the day analyzing the new shadows." Snape said. He already had over 200 soldiers, but he needed to inspect the six new wizards. After all, they were a rare type of shadow for him, and now, with the three Norton wizards and Kargalgan, he had ten mage-class shadows. He wanted to train them in potion-making, which would save him a lot of time.

"Can I stay? I'd like to explore the place and see Atlas with his companion." She asked.

"Fine, just don't interfere with my shadows in the laboratory." Snape warned as he made his way there.

He summoned the shadows and immediately began teaching them how to brew potions and take their positions. He was already planning to use his new soldiers to produce items for his shop.

The wizards had some knowledge in the field, as they were trained magic users. However, he quickly noticed that the old patriarch of the Nott family and the brother of the Norton family patriarch had great talent. They had a deep understanding of potions, so they quickly began brewing complex ones, while the other wizards handled more basic formulas like the mage soldiers."

Kargalgan, as a powerful mage, was still able to strengthen the shadows.

Snape spent an hour overseeing each one's work, making adjustments here and there, analyzing the quality of the new potions being created. After organizing everything, he decided to leave the place.

The phoenix appeared in the Chamber of Secrets as Snape entered Salazar's laboratory, greeting the portrait. He spent the rest of the day studying ancient books and conversing with Salazar's image. After all, there were still things he wanted to create, and he was continuing to develop his knowledge and craft artifacts.

"So, you're already looking to create the potion that reverses the effects of love potions... interesting." Salazar's portrait murmured.

"Yes... I've already ordered most of the ingredients, but I'll need a few more… Very rare ones." Snape said.

"I see… I can't help you with that, so I simply wish you good luck." The portrait said as Snape shrugged.

The next day, the week began with a shocking headline in the Daily Prophet: the destruction of the Norton family and the deaths of three other victims, including the patriarch of the Nott family.

The entire wizarding world was in shock. Major families, especially those allied with pureblood ideologies, were being eliminated like animals. The Norton family had been attacked again, leading to its complete destruction.

Naturally, this caught the attention of the Dark Lord, who, along with his Death Eaters, began taking action that very day. They wanted to uncover who was responsible for the murders. Fear gripped everyone outside Hogwarts, while students had nothing else to discuss among themselves, glancing at Slytherin with various expressions.

Even the Slytherin students themselves seemed shocked and apprehensive, unsure of what exactly was happening.

Once again, insecurity haunted the wizarding world, but this time, it wasn't just those who feared the Dark Lord. Even his own followers had begun to feel fear, which was a concerning situation for him.

The days passed quickly.

On Thursday, Snape received a letter from the goblins of Gringotts, informing him that his order was ready and that he should come to the bank.

Without wasting time, he made his way through Diagon Alley, disguised, and was quickly attended to upon entering the bank. Led to a special room where the most experienced goblin smiths worked, he was handed a box.

Opening it, he found two daggers made of goblin metal.

Snape nodded, satisfied with the result.

"It's always a pleasure, Mr. Snape. Whenever you need us, you can count on our services." Said the goblin manager.

"Alright, thank you for everything." Snape replied, taking his leave before vanishing.

On Saturday, he handled the matters concerning his shop, delivering an impressive quantity of potions. He had never produced so much before, thanks to his new shadows working for him—ten of them dedicated to the task.

That same day, Snape began to act. His first target would be the Nott family, but before that, he would review his training with Bellatrix.

The next day, he would be busy hunting for new portal paintings, and the Nott family would be his target while he took advantage of the absence of their former patriarch to infiltrate the property.
