Chapter 207 - The Return to the Black Family.

[Chapter Size: 2300 Words.]

Third Person POV

London.

...

...

The sky was gray that day, while everything seemed quite ordinary, until sounds of thunder began to echo strangely across the sky, as a blue light traveled through the gray clouds.

Some people were a bit surprised by it, wondering where all the sudden booms were coming from, since despite the cloudy weather, everything had seemed so calm.

Then another thunderclap resounded in the sky, before suddenly, a massive electric discharge shot downward, frightening many Muggles in the area with the flash before the explosive sound of the lightning struck the ground, landing on one of the nearby mansion properties.

At the Black mansion, the lightning struck in the middle of it, creating a huge hole in the ceiling of the entrance hall, while everyone in the house was startled by the explosive sound.

They quickly ran there to see, as Kreacher appeared gulping hard, watching the lightning dance uncontrollably in the middle of the place, but around a person beneath the hole created by the lightning strike.

On the railing of the upper floor with the stairs to the hall and entrance of the mansion, Bellatrix appeared after running to see what was happening, stunned as she saw Severus standing there, in the middle of the floor destroyed by the impact, while thunder swirled all around his body.

"Professor Snape?!" Astraea also appeared on the other side, stunned.

"Astraea... it's been a while..." Severus said through the thunder, as they hadn't seen each other in a long time, with Severus having visited them sometime before leaving for Sweden.

Astraea swallowed hard as Regulus and Paris, who had returned from Hogwarts, appeared with some adults coming from other rooms in the house — their parents, obviously.

"..." Regulus looked stunned at Severus — this Severus seemed far more powerful than the one who had been at the tournament.

"I found Andromeda working at St. Mungo's hospital, she told me she left the family..." He said, while Astraea looked at him with some fear, seeing that Snape seemed much more powerful than before.

"She had to leave the family... after all, we're in a lot of trouble... we did it to protect her." Astraea said as Severus raised an eyebrow.

"I just passed by my shop — destroyed... I've been gone just a few weeks... and Voldemort is already this bold?" Severus asked openly.

Astraea seemed to think a bit before responding.

"A lot has changed..." she said.

"Like what?" Severus asked, still with lightning swirling around him.

"It would be better if we talked... can we do that in the meeting room, privately?" she asked carefully.

"Mother... you're not thinking..." one of her sons said with a serious look.

"Silence, I'll handle this." she replied to her son as Severus nodded to her, with the thunder stopping in the next moment.

"Please, follow me." she said as he nodded, stepping toward the staircase, following her.

"Tsk. You took too long." he heard the brunette grumble from the other side, as Bellatrix looked at him with her usual distaste, while he couldn't help giving a half-smile at her strange personality.

He entered the room with Astraea and sat in the usual chair — no portrait dared offend him for being a half-blood anymore, with all of them afraid of him, due to the last time he entered a frame and brought a shadow creature with him.

"Tell me everything that happened." Severus requested immediately, and she nodded, beginning to speak of how the magical world was upside down in his absence.

It was the mid-year break at Hogwarts, so Astraea began to talk about what had been happening — he didn't ask many questions to Rosaria, as he was paying more attention to Genini, the house-elf.

First, Voldemort decided to act, declaring to the world that the Dumbledore who was at Hogwarts was a fake, shocking everyone, while a series of attacks began across Great Britain.

They noticed there was no movement from the second Dark Lord, and to test this, they attacked Severus's shop intending to provoke him and see if he was truly active, but nothing happened.

The Ministry had never faced so many problems as now, while in recent weeks, the remaining Death Eaters began to strike. Voldemort was finally regaining his status as the most feared being in England, while people began to ask where that other Dark Lord was, expecting a battle between the two after the first's attack — which was bad news for everyone. After all, England would become the battlefield.

With the headache the Ministry of Magic was dealing with, some newspapers circulated with stories about Snape himself, speaking about his life and his grand future — many considering that he would become a great wizard, with some even offering praise. But there were also people who disagreed, painting him as a bad person, with even one article claiming his father suffered abuse from him.

Severus didn't care much about that, while he began to listen to how the Blacks were positioned in the middle of all this — first, they had been approached by Voldemort himself, who came to demand loyalty from the Black family.

Astraea believed Severus was not dead, but her children wanted to ally themselves with Voldemort, declaring total loyalty. She said she had to send Andromeda away to keep her from being affected by this, as she wouldn't allow herself to be dragged into it.

First, all granddaughters were being forced to marry into other families loyal to Voldemort — like Narcissa Malfoy with the only surviving member of the Malfoy family after the city attack, Lucius, taking his father's place after his death — and even Narcissa has been living with him as his fiancée since last week.

Regulus would become Voldemort's apprentice, while Bellatrix would marry into the Lestrange family. But Astraea hadn't promised anything and only said she would think about it, trying to buy time — after all, in the future she had seen, there was no Voldemort; she had seen far darker creatures, fighting while the world cracked under their battles, with armies of monsters numbering in the millions.

"I see..." Severus commented calmly after hearing everything.

"What will you do, Lord Snape?" she asked. "The Black family will stand by your side."

"Isn't it obvious... I will no longer show mercy from this point forward." Severus said with a dangerous tone as Astraea nodded.

It was at that moment that Kreacher entered the room uninvited.

"What is the meaning of this?" Astraea looked at him with a serious tone for interrupting a private conversation.

"I beg your pardon, my lady... but an emergency has occurred at the entrance." he said apologetically.

"He means that all the dark wizards around the mansion assigned to watch you have been summoned by one of your sons, and they're all waiting for me at the entrance with wands drawn. Even the goons of your household are with them... it seems you're losing control of your family at this moment." Severus commented calmly, while Astraea widened her eyes in shock.

"They couldn't have done this...?!" she exclaimed in fury.

"Either way." Severus said, making both Astraea and Kreacher look at him in surprise, as they felt a dark energy radiating from him, while his eyes gleamed as if death itself was standing there, making both swallow hard.

"Let me go!" Bellatrix shouted as a woman restrained her after taking her wand.

"Calm down, girl... we'll deal with that troublemaker quickly and everything will be fine, the Dark Lord will be pleased with this." the woman said, holding Bellatrix, who struggled to break free through magic.

"Everything will be over soon, we just have to deal with Mom and that half-blood." Paris's father said, standing with more than twelve wizards.

The door then opened, and everyone looked toward it, raising their wands. Severus calmly walked through it first, followed closely by Astraea, with everyone downstairs watching them descend the staircase.

Regulus and Paris were also there, a bit nervous, watching Severus calmly walk toward the group of dark wizards, with Bellatrix on the floor near them.

"So you're the filthy half-blood who didn't die after all... it's a shame that ends now..." the woman laughed. "Now give me—"

Severus didn't even let her finish.

"Let me guess, you want my wand. Take it." Severus said, grabbing it and tossing it down the stairs, where it rolled to her feet.

They looked at it, satisfied.

"Looks like he's smart, knows he can't do much now." the woman laughed.

"Just finish it." the Black man said, looking at his mother with an arrogant tone, while Astraea turned her eyes toward someone who had betrayed her.

"Don't look at me like that. There's no future for this family neglecting the Dark Lord while you waste time with a half-Muggle, just because he has something special." he said.

"There is no future for the Black family unless we stand with Severus Snape — and I'll make sure you understand that very well." Astraea said with a tone full of rage toward her traitorous son.

The dark wizards looked at each other, surprised by the comment, before bursting into laughter the next moment.

"Hahaha! She's talking about the half-blood? The one who got swallowed by a portrait?" the woman laughed along with the others.

"That was funny... anyway, let's finish this..." She stepped forward toward Severus, moving away from the stairs and stopping in the center of the place, in front of them.

"We'll take him alive, but we can show a bit of torture, so he knows who he's messing with — and I don't like that calm face after losing his wand, he doesn't seem to know who he's dealing with." the woman grinned sadistically as they all raised their wands toward him again.

"I'll start, then it's your turns. I don't want this to end quickly or for him to die before seeing the Dark Lord." the woman announced as all her companions nodded.

Everyone watched her point her wand at Snape with a Cruciatus, while he stood there facing them with cold eyes. Bellatrix was trying to break free at that moment. Paris looked lost, and Regulus stared at Severus without blinking.

"Cruc—!" the woman shouted as the glow appeared at her wand tip, before suddenly stopping mid-word and freezing in place, the glow fading right after.

She stood there, paralyzed, unable to move. Her eyes shifted restlessly, but she neither spoke nor moved.

The place fell into complete silence as Snape stood before them, his gaze still cold.

"He did something to her — attack!" they realized, and quickly began casting death curses — but only managed to shout half the incantation before their bodies froze.

The place was filled with wizards frozen in place, wands pointed forward, unable to move properly, while only their eyes shifted from side to side, desperately searching for anything that could free them from that state — it was clear they were aware they were paralyzed.

Everyone there was stunned by what was happening, as Astraea's son took a step back, bewildered, wondering what was going on.

"You know the problem with being a sorcerer, no matter how powerful you are?" Severus finally broke the silence, looking at the woman whose trembling eyes never blinked — she was terrified in her paralysis.

No one could see the blue energy in Severus's hand — the Monarch's Touch had been activated, and he was now so powerful that he had seized all his enemies before him, as though giant hands were clutching each of them.

Then Severus continued, a cold glow in his eyes as everyone watched to see what would happen next.

"It's that you're still just a human in the end. It doesn't matter if you can destroy a city — you're still just human, and the human body is so easy to break." he concluded.

In the next moment, he closed his lowered hand into a fist — and suddenly, the necks of all those frozen began to snap, one by one, each suffering death as their neck bones shattered.

They all fell dead to the floor the next moment, leaving everyone who witnessed it in shock — Severus had killed an entire group of people without anyone knowing how, with his wand still lying on the ground.

Paris's father collapsed to the floor in terror and felt his body being pulled as he reached for his wand — but the hand that held it broke, making him scream in pain before the wand dropped to the ground. His body floated toward Severus, who ignored his cries, while the man's face twisted in fear at the sight of Severus standing there — unmoving, wandless, yet wielding terrifying power.

"Would you like to deal with him?" Severus turned his attention to Astraea.

"Please. I need to teach my son an unforgettable lesson after what he did. He wanted to kill his own mother, after all." Astraea said with disgust.

"So be it. But he also tried something against me." Severus replied, before beginning to break all the man's non-lethal bones — the sounds of shattering bones echoed through the hall as Snape used only his will to do it. Legs, arms, fingers — everything began to break, while the man screamed like a wild animal.

Severus was merciless in that moment, as Astraea swallowed hard watching her son suffer like that, before he collapsed to the floor like a shattered doll — still alive.

Paris was completely pale, Regulus had never been so cautious around Severus, and Bellatrix remained stunned on the ground.

Severus then walked forward, his wand rising from the floor and floating into his hand, as he released Bellatrix before leaving the room.

In the next moment, a thunderbolt was heard soaring into the sky as he moved toward another part of London.
