Chapter One

Yep, that's me, my name is Cassandra Evans, I looked at the body as it passed by me, the woman was still alive, I was waiting on my mom as she worked extra shift in the hospital, I've always wanted to be a medical doctor so I hanged around most of the time.

I saw a boy beside me obviously crying, and he looked at least 5 years older than me, and mind you I was just seven at the moment.

I went up to him and inquired why he was crying.

"My mom's the woman on the wheel chair, and I don't know what to do" he pointed at the door through which his mother went through earlier.

"It's okay, she's in my mom's ward I'm sure, she'll take care of her, do you want to see her?" He nodded, then I held his hand and led him to the ward. His mom was already on sedatives so we just watched her anyway. She was resting peacefully and it seemed like she was okay and finally out of danger, trust my mom to be the best.

"She's pretty like you"

"I'm a boy, and boys aren't pretty" his ears turned red.

"I know but you are" he smiled and we talked for a while before he asked my name.

"My name is Cassandra Evans but you can call me Cassy"

"Hey Cassy, my name is Richard, nice to meet you" he shook my hand.

Since then we always played whenever he came to the hospital after school, and we became close friends. He stayed In the hospital for four days and I also got to know his mom.

On the fifth day his mom was discharged, and it made me sad.

"So that means we'll never get to play with each other?"

"Don't worry, we'll still be friends, I'll come over most of the time"

"Promise?" I looked at him with a bright eye.

"I promise, I'll miss you"

"Me too" he kissed my cheek and shyly ran to his mom, who looked at me and waved before they left.

Every day I waited for him to show up but he never did, time passed and I eventually went out of school.

10 years later, I rolled out of my bed hitting the alarm, getting ready to go to school, I rushed to the bathroom and took a shower, getting ready to go to the prestigious James Logan high school, California United States, around the San Francisco bay area. I lived in the union city with my mom after my dad died the day I was born. I tied my hair up in a ponytail to take a shower before washing it.

I got out of the shower, and opened my closet, grabbing a pair of white tennis skirt, and black baggy too that I tucked in slightly with white sneakers, scattering my black hair that was wavy, I arranged it and let it fall, then grabbed my bag and came downstairs, sitting in the dining table, and ate the food my mum prepared for me before leaving, then I locked the door and walked down the streets, I took out my phone and saw a text from Lily who apparently was my best friend, I texted her back and crossed the road, getting into a cab, I arrived at school.

Students were going around, driving in and all that, talking and having fun, I stood still looking around and smiling, I grabbed a few attention but I didn't matter at the moment, lily came up to me immediately, we greeted and she complimented my dress sense,

"You look like a chic young lady, who do you want to dress to impress?" Lily turned me around, smiling.

"hopefully my teachers so I can get the perfect grade so I can become the doctor I dream to be"

Taking me into the school we talked about the department we are in and the courses, then the extra curricular activities, so I took just the camera club and swimming class.

"Camera club? You want to go for the camera club like are you serious right now"

She looked surprised and so I decided to ask her about it.

"Is there anything bad about the camera club? Like maybe some spooky ghost story or something like that?"

"No, it's not like that, it's Just well that club…''

"What happened to that club exactly, what are you not telling me"

"Nothing it's just that, well that club is a little prestigious"

"So.. what's bad about that?"

"Nothing, but why camera club?"

"Because I've developed interest in photography lately, so I'm trying to use this opportunity to sharpen my skills, probably take a few shots and also it seems less dramatic and free of tension"

"Hmm.. I doubt" lily said

"Forget it then, whatever"

"What?"

"It's obvious you don't wanna tell me anything" I continued walking.

"I'll let that be a surprise"

Of course, Lily began to tell me about the school, and about the four rich best friends of the school that no one crosses.

"What is their name?"

"Richard Wilson, Michael Armstrong, Jacob Alexander, and Jonathan Desmonds"

I decided to ignore it since I decided to focus on school, with a GP of 4.0, I didn't have much classes but I still decided to focus, I told Lily I was heading to the registration office and she let me go, I walked down the hall and turned not even knowing where I was going So I looked around to asked for directions.

"Hello, can you show me the way to the reg office?" He turned around to look at me, and he was so handsome.

"Yeah" he showed me the directions.

"Thanks"

"New kid?"

I nodded.

"Welcome, hope you enjoy it here"

"Thanks really needed that a lot"

"You seem lost"

"I am lost, not just seem, everywhere just look complicated, not good at location guessings.

"Well if you need help, you can always find me?"

"I'll take up that offer sometime" I smiled and we arrived.

"Thanks, bye"
