I Was Wrong, Please Forgive Me

"Hannibal, my husband, I was wrong! Please forgive me!" Miranda suddenly begged as Hannibal approached her.

Hannibal, seeing Miranda's pitiful expression, felt nauseated. She had just ordered his death moments ago, and now she was begging for forgiveness. Truly, her face changed faster than the weather.

"Weren't you wishing for my death earlier?" Hannibal towered over her, his tone icy.

"I was wrong, husband! It was all because of Fraser and his gang! They forced me! They corrupted me! I had no choice! Please forgive me, my love. I know you've always been good to me. I promise to treat you better in the future. I'm willing to do anything for you," Miranda pleaded, clinging to Hannibal's legs.

Hannibal sneered, "Hmph. I'm not rich. I'm not handsome. And I can't satisfy you. Why do you grovel to me like this?"

"I was wrong, husband. Those were just angry words, not my true intentions. Please don't take them to heart! Let's forget the past and live our lives together in peace from now on, alright?" Miranda looked up at Hannibal with a pitiful expression.

"Miranda, if you knew all this, why did you act this way in the first place? It's too late now! If it were before, maybe you could have lived. But now... traitors can only die!" Hannibal didn't waste any more words.

Without mercy, he stabbed Miranda in the chest with the Demon Sky Blade.

Miranda felt something pierce her body suddenly, and then it felt like all the blood in her body was draining away.

Her face displayed various expressions of regret, shock, and unwillingness. Slowly, she released her grip on Hannibal's leg, collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

Hannibal took a deep breath, pulled out the Demon Sky Blade, and without another glance, turned to Dylan.

Returning the blade to Dylan, Hannibal expressed his gratitude, "Brother, thank you!"

Dylan accepted the blade, nodded silently, and said nothing.

"Brother, I have a request. Can you grant it?" Hannibal continued.

"Speak!" Dylan replied.

"I want to join you. Is it possible? I know you're all powerful, and my abilities are insignificant to you. But I can still be of use to you, running errands or whatever," Hannibal asked earnestly."Afterward, I'm willing to be your right-hand man, just leave the physical labor to me! Can I?"

Seeing Hannibal's hopeful eyes and recalling his ability to attract zombies earlier, Dylan felt that taking Hannibal in could be quite useful. So, he nodded in agreement!

Seeing Dylan agree to his request, Hannibal felt elated.

Alberta and the others smiled and nodded at him.

Seeing several beautiful women smiling sweetly at him, Hannibal's worries vanished.

The bystanders, upon seeing the battle end, started approaching Alberta and Jodie, whom they were familiar with, to greet them.

"Alberta, Jodie, where did you come from? Was it from the cafeteria?"

"Alberta, do you and Jodie want to team up with us?"

"Jodie, come over here, we have plenty of food to share with you!"

"Who are those beautiful girls behind you? Invite them too!"

Many people were inviting Alberta and Jodie to join their groups, indicating that they had significant popularity and charm.

However, not a single person came forward to invite Dylan and Hannibal.

It seemed they were wary and repelled by them.

"We came from outside, and we have our own shelter. Thank you all for your kindness," Alberta politely declined.

Upon hearing that Alberta had a shelter outside, some became interested. "Where is your shelter? Is it safe? Can we go there?"

Alberta hesitated for a moment and didn't answer directly, instead turning to Dylan. She wanted to hear Dylan's opinion since he was the leader.

Seeing Alberta seeking his opinion, Dylan smiled.

Stepping forward beside Alberta, he addressed the students, "Our shelter is on Purple Mountain. There are many villas there, and it's very safe. If you wish to go, it's not impossible. However..."

Some students became particularly excited upon hearing they could go. But upon hearing Dylan's "however," they knew there were conditions attached.

Seeing many people waiting for him to finish his sentence, Dylan continued, "However, only those who have awakened abilities and voluntarily join us qualify to go."

As soon as Dylan uttered those words, the crowd exchanged glances.

They understood that the "awakened abilities" Dylan referred to were similar to Fraser's wind blade ability.

This threshold was not small, and currently, there were few students who had awakened abilities among them.

Furthermore, those who had abilities like Fraser's were not willing to subordinate themselves to others.

There was a brief commotion in the crowd, but it quickly subsided.

Dylan didn't expect anyone to willingly join him so soon.

"Alright, whoever awakens abilities, the gates of the Purple Mountain villa will forever be open to you," Dylan concluded without further ado, turning to Alberta and the others.

 "Let's go!"

It was getting late, and there were still many wandering zombies in the academy.

Dylan wanted to clear them out quickly.

After Dylan left, the surviving university students in the supermarket began to discuss.

"Who is that guy? Why does Alberta and Jodie seem to listen to him?"

"I don't know. Could it be that they've both been taken in by him?"

"Alright, let's not meddle in their affairs. Now that Fraser and his gang are dead, we should think about seizing the territory they occupied.""Right, let's head back!" It seemed that everyone had the same idea, and they began to rush back into the supermarket. In no time, the sound of fighting could be heard from inside the supermarket.

Meanwhile, Dylan and the others had arrived at the academy's playground.

There were over 3000 university student zombies wandering around.

Now that Jodie had rested and with Hannibal's assistance, they employed their usual tactics and managed to clear the zombies from the playground before nightfall.

After collecting all the crystals, Dylan counted them.

This time, they had harvested 3500 crystals, adding to the previous 4620, making a total of 8150 crystals today.

He gave 20 crystals to Hannibal, leaving 8100 in Dylan's inventory. This was the largest harvest since the apocalypse began.

However, everyone, including Dylan, was exhausted.

Moreover, it was getting late, and it wasn't suitable to continue clearing zombies.

Besides, the zombies in the playground couldn't escape, so they could deal with them next time.

Dylan then instructed everyone to start driving back to the villa.

He asked Hannibal to ride with Georgia in the minibus, while he called Kimberley to ride with him in the off-road vehicle.

During the journey, Dylan inquired about Kimberley's situation because he noticed her good performance today.

"Kimberley, did you awaken abilities?" Upon hearing Dylan's question, Kimberley looked puzzled.

She replied uncertainly, "I'm not sure. I just woke up this morning and felt that my strength suddenly increased many times more than before. I thought it was because of the increase in temporal energy."

Hearing Kimberley's explanation, Dylan had a strong suspicion.

Her temporal energy couldn't possibly increase her strength so dramatically in just under four years.

It was highly likely that she had awakened a power-based ability in the martial arts category.

With this ability, even with low temporal energy levels, she would have the strength equivalent to someone with a century's worth of energy.

As her level increased in the future, she could potentially defeat enemies bare-handed without needing any weapons.

This type of ability was quite common among those who awakened during the apocalypse.
