Laurel looked somewhat perplexed as she explained, "It's like this. Today, I accidentally slipped and hit my head hard against the door.
But strangely, I didn't feel any pain.
So, I took a stick to test it." With that, Laurel pulled out a wooden stick from behind her. "Boss, watch this!"
Without hesitation, Laurel struck her own head hard with the stick, startling Dylan.
"Crack!"
The thick stick snapped in response, but Laurel acted as if nothing had happened, brushing off the wood chips from her head. "Boss, is this an ability?"
Dylan touched Laurel's head and found no injuries.
Somewhat surprised, he said, "Indeed! You have awakened an ability, and it's quite resistant to impact.
In simple terms, your physical strength and defense are superior.
Others need a physique of over a thousand years of energy to withstand cold weapons.
You, with probably over a hundred years of energy, should be fine. Congratulations, Laurel!"
Upon hearing Dylan's words, Laurel cheered with joy. "That's great! Can I officially join you like Kimberley from now on?"
Laurel looked at Dylan expectantly, awaiting his response.
"Of course! From now on, you are also a formal member of our team!" Dylan smiled and then conjured a pack of crystals out of thin air. Handing them to Laurel, he said, "Here! These are 110 crystals. Absorb them first."
Laurel took the crystals, almost jumping with joy. "Thank you, boss!"
"Oh, by the way, what's your name? I haven't asked you yet!" Dylan asked somewhat awkwardly.
"I'm Laurel. Just call me Laurel, boss!" Laurel replied.
"Laurel, a good name! Laurel sounds much better, so I'll call you Laurel from now on!" Dylan said with a smile.
Hearing Dylan's words, Laurel happily said, "Whatever you call me, boss, I'm willing!"
"Alright! I'll head back now. Make sure to guard the gate properly. If you need anything to eat, drink, or use, just ask me!" Dylan said.
"Okay!" Dylan called the four nurses into the car and led the convoy straight to the road in front of his own villa. After parking the cars, everyone got out.
Dylan walked to Louise's side and pointed to the empty villas below. "
The villas down there are all empty. You can choose whichever one you want to live in.
" Then he pointed to the villas behind him.
"We'll stay here. If you need anything, just come find me!"
Louise looked at Dylan's villa, seeing the high walls and barbed wire.
The gate of the villa was already open, and the four nurses had gone in and turned on the lights.
Seeing this, Louise couldn't help but sigh.
She hadn't expected Dylan to be so well-prepared.It seems that after the disaster, they weren't greatly affected at all.
Moreover, being far from the urban area, with sparse population, they didn't need to live in constant fear.
Living here must be very pleasant. Louise looked at the girls behind Dylan and couldn't help but smile.
With so many beautiful girls around, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that he was probably the happiest man in the world right now!
"Alright, we won't stand on ceremony then! Let's choose this building in front, so we can take care of each other in the future," Louise said.
Hearing Louise's suggestion, Dylan spoke up, "With so many of you, there's no need to cram into one place. There are plenty of villas here!"
Louise replied, "I know. But we only have one generator, so we'll just make do with one for now. We'll figure it out later!"
With a smile on her face, Louise looked at Dylan and said, "Thank you, Dylan young master!" Her smile was infectious, making people feel refreshed.
She was indeed a woman who could read people well and think things through.
Dylan locked up all the trucks, and Louise took her people and the girls to tidy up the house.
Clarence originally wanted to help, but Louise stopped him, saying that since they had reunited after so long, they must have a lot to talk about.
Clarence was touched by Louise's thoughtfulness.
After Louise and her group left, Dylan called Clarence back to the villa. He parked the heavy-duty off-road camper and the Babo off-road vehicle in the yard and closed the gate.
Clarence felt a sense of nostalgia when he saw the villa that his company had renovated.
He realized now that he and his sister had secretly mocked Dylan for being rich.
Looking back, he realized he had been foolish.
Dylan seemed to have been prophetic, planning everything in advance. Otherwise, how could everything be explained?
Feeling the warmth and comfort inside the villa, Clarence couldn't help but reflect.
Thankfully, he was a conscientious boss of a renovation company and had never compromised on quality.
Otherwise, Dylan might have fired him on the spot.
What's more, his sister was living here now.
People, indeed, received good karma for their good deeds!
Meanwhile, Dylan instructed the four nurses to help Dorothy prepare dinner.
After all, their elder brother had arrived, so they had to be hospitable.
Although he had some dishes from the Restaurant in his space, Dylan chose not to bring them out for now.
He felt it was better not to let Clarence know about his space ability, not because he distrusted Clarence, but because of Louise.
With Clarence present, all the women in the villa surprisingly didn't change into their pajamas.
Dylan didn't mind, but seeing Clarence's tattered clothes, he discreetly found a larger one from his space and gave it to Clarence.
"Go change your clothes first, bro!" Clarence took the clothes, went to the bathroom, changed, and came back out.Dylan found the suit quite fitting.
Next, while everyone else was busy with their own tasks, Dylan sat on the couch in the living room with Clarence and Alberta, chatting about their respective experiences.
From Clarence, Dylan learned that on the night of the disaster, he had taken a new client to the Royal No. 1 Bathhouse.
After enjoying comprehensive services, he fell asleep in his room. Soon after, he was awakened by the commotion outside.
It turned out some customers complained about the cold inside, and the staff couldn't figure out why.
As the temperature dropped further, even Clarence couldn't bear it anymore.
But being summer, there were no thick blankets in the bathhouse. He thought about settling the bill and driving home.
However, chaos had erupted outside, and he couldn't find his client. So, he decided to leave the Royal No. 1 directly.
But as soon as he stepped out, he was shocked.
The once sultry weather had become colder than winter.
Despite his robust physique, he couldn't withstand such cold.
Many people were outside, seeking refuge in the Royal No. 1.
It was then that he remembered the down jacket and supplies Dylan had given him.
He quickly ran to his car, put on the jacket, and returned to the bathhouse with the supplies.
Inside was relatively warmer than outside.
He went back to his original room and stayed quietly, thinking he would leave when the temperature returned to normal.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered his sister Alberta, wondering how she was doing.
He wanted to call her, but realized he had lost his phone a long time ago.
The temperature kept dropping, and people outside were freezing.
In the following days, many froze to death.
He managed to survive by wearing the down jacket, moving around to find food.
As the temperature became less severe, survivors inside the bathhouse began frantically searching for and snatching supplies.
Some even resorted to violence, killing others.
He became a target for other survivors.
