Georgia pulled the bowstring taut and aimed an arrow directly at the peacock, letting it fly.
With a glint of cold light, the arrow struck the peacock's eye, but it didn't penetrate its skull.
The mutant peacock let out a miserable cry and then flapped its wings, flying towards Dylan and Georgia.
The flying peacock was indeed beautiful, with its colorful feathers.
But Dylan and Georgia had no leisure to admire it.
Just as the peacock was about to fly close, Georgia swiftly drew her bow again, seizing the opportunity to shoot another arrow at the peacock's other eye.
Another direct hit.
The peacock's eyes were disabled, and it immediately spewed out flames from its mouth in frenzy.
Wherever the flames grazed, it turned black and charred. Some wooden crates were reduced to ashes.
Fortunately, blinded by the loss of its eyes, the peacock lost its aim and didn't burn Dylan and Georgia.
The peacock flapped around wildly, crashing into things. After colliding with an iron pillar in the middle, it fell to the ground.
This was Dylan's chance. He activated his time-slowing ability and swiftly drew his knife, slashing at the mutant peacock's head.
The blade sank into the peacock's neck but didn't sever it.
The body of this four-star mutant was truly formidable.
Dylan exerted force to pull out the knife and then viciously struck at the wound on its neck again.
This time, the peacock's head was severed.
With the mutant peacock dealt with, all the danger in the freight station was eliminated.
After extracting the crystal core from the peacock's head, Dylan also pulled out all its feathers and stored them away in his space.
After completing these tasks, he instructed Georgia to call the people outside to start moving the goods.
In no time, a group of people rushed into the warehouse, including the girls from the bus.
Everyone began inspecting the goods.
After the final tally, five trucks containing Royal No.1 supplies were intact, but two of the other five trucks had been smashed open, and the goods inside were inedible, likely eaten by those mutants.
In the other three trucks, two contained flour, and the third contained some courier parcels.
The goods piled up in the warehouse were mostly useless odds and ends.
Dylan and his team picked through them, not letting anything useful go to waste.
Before loading the trucks, Dylan had them try starting each vehicle one by one to see if they were still operational.
Fortunately, only one of the damaged trucks couldn't start.
Despite trying various methods, they couldn't get it running, so Dylan decided to abandon that truck and use Louise's empty small cargo truck instead.
It was smaller, but they would make do.
They managed to cram all the usable goods into the trucks and cargo truck, though it took some effort.
With nine more vehicles now, Dorothy, Kelly, and Hannibal became drivers along with Louise, Clarence, and four girls picked from the group who could drive.
Although none of them had driven such large trucks before, it was the apocalypse. As long as they didn't drive into a ditch, they could roam freely on the roads, right?
They lined up all the vehicles in an open space.
Dylan's heavy-duty off-road camper led the way, with Georgia driving the Bobos off-road vehicle at the rear.
A large convoy was about to set off.
At this moment, Dylan suddenly thought of the zoo.
Such a large zoo, surely there were more than just a few monkeys, tigers, and peacocks alive, right? Are there other mutants inside? Dylan couldn't resist his curiosity and decided to take a look.
If there were any, he could kill them if possible, or leave them for later if necessary.
With this thought in mind, Dylan turned the car around and drove directly to the wall adjacent to the freight station and the zoo.
The wall here had long collapsed, presumably knocked down by the mutants that had entered. Dylan raised the roof of the camper again, climbed to the second floor, and carefully scanned the area with a high-powered telescope.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar resounded, causing even the ground to tremble. Birds in the zoo were startled into flight.
Dylan quickly aimed the telescope towards the source of the sound.
In a pen deep within the zoo, a giant elephant the size of a truck was attacking several lion-like creatures the size of small cargo boxes.
Dylan was shocked to find so many mutants here, and judging from their sizes, they were of high star levels.
He adjusted the telescope to its highest magnification and counted the starlight bulges on the elephant's forehead.
"1, 2, 3... 7!"
Seven-star mutant! How could there be a seven-star mutant here?
Forget it, this wasn't a place they could handle right now.
Dylan didn't linger; he returned to the driver's seat, retracted the roof, and drove back to the front of the convoy. He honked the horn and led the convoy to leave slowly.
Under Dylan's guidance, the convoy retraced its path back to the Purple Mountain Villa area. Since many of them were driving large trucks for the first time, they traveled slowly.
It wasn't until dusk that they arrived at the gates of the Purple Mountain Villa area. Kimberley and the others, who had received the news from the intercom earlier, had already opened the gate and were waiting.
However, they were still quite surprised when they saw so many vehicles. They hadn't expected Dylan to bring back so many resources in just one trip.
Moreover, there was even a bus full of young girls.
"Kimberley, come here!" Dylan got out of the car and called Kimberley over, then handed her 100 crystals.
"Take these and absorb them. From now on, you'll be a person with 200 years of energy!"
Kimberley took the crystals from Dylan's hand, and tears welled up in her eyes. She felt moved and surprised that Dylan valued her so much, even though she hadn't done much besides guarding the gate.
"Thank you... Boss!" She said, hesitating for a moment before calling Dylan "boss".
Yes! From now on, Dylan was the boss, the forever boss in her heart.
Dylan smiled, patted her shoulder, and was about to turn around and leave when Kimberley stopped him again.
"Boss, don't leave yet. I forgot to tell you, Laurel seems to have awakened her ability too!"
Dylan turned around, somewhat surprised. "Oh? Bring her over so I can see!"
Kimberley hurriedly called Laurel over from the gatehouse, where she stood, looking expectantly towards them.
Dylan looked at the petite Laurel with curiosity. "Have you noticed any changes in your body?"
