Chapter Fifty-Six

Agnes looked outside the window from Seth's room. Outside, there was a huge garden. Instead of flowers, there were butterflies even on the trees, sitting in the shape of flowers. Some might think they were flowers, until they moved.

"They won't move unless you touch them," Seth said.

"I thought they moved by your will. Because you made them," Agnes said.

"They do move by my will. But other than that, in order for them to move, you need to touch them," Seth said.

"Just me?"

"No. Anyone."

The other night, before Theo left her room, Agnes told him that she wanted to leave. Before she forgot again, she wanted Theo to know what she truly wanted. She wanted to get away from Seth, whether it meant she could be get her power back or not. Honestly, she did not want to live that kind of life again anyway. She was okay with aging and dying and never being born again.
