Chapter 85: Breaking The Illusion

A few minutes ago, Chu Cheng was confused when he saw a giant creature appear in his vision.

Even though it was marked as an important threat on the map, he didn't expect it to be so overwhelming. The appearance of the masked man who could manipulate space seemed daunting.

Thinking quickly, Chu Cheng decided to switch to Moon Knight and help out. He figured that if things got too tough, he could always try again later.

Just as he was about to jump into action, he heard a voice through his earpiece.

"Humans are always like this. They trust their own eyes too much and can be easily fooled."

Chu Cheng turned around and was shocked to see a bird-like figure behind him. This figure had a vulture-like head, a skeletal appearance, and a sharp beak. Its body was human-like, wearing a gray-white robe and holding a weapon like a crescent moon.

This was Khonshu, the Moon God, who gave Moon Knight his powers.

Chu Cheng was surprised. He knew Khonshu from the game, but he hadn't expected to see him here. He thought about how Moon Knight, originally a mercenary, had met Khonshu in an Egyptian temple.

Khonshu had offered him power to fight evil, but it came with a lot of strings attached.

Khonshu was known for helping to fight evil and protect the night travelers, but his methods were often difficult. Chu Cheng couldn't help but think that Khonshu might have anticipated a situation like this.

"What's going on?" Moon Knight on the screen asked.

"See with your heart, not your eyes," Khonshu replied, striking the ground with his crescent staff. "These are just illusions."

"Can you help me or not?" Moon Knight asked.

Khonshu sneered. "I am the Moon God. Dispelling these illusions is easy."

Khonshu raised his staff, and beams of light shot into the sky.

Instantly, the split sky and the giant tentacled creature vanished. The sunken buildings were back in place, and the agents below were either fighting each other or dealing with the situation.

So it turned out that everything they saw was just an illusion.

Khonshu being a god could only affect the world through tricks and illusions. He couldn't directly interact with mortals or punish the wicked without using someone like Moon Knight to do it for him.

After Khonshu broke the illusion, he moved Moon Knight into the arena, and the intense scenes began.

Moon Knight's powers aren't just tricks; he can actually create dreams. He casts a daydream that pulls everyone within range into a world he controls. In this dream, the line between reality and imagination is blurred, and he has total control over it.

While he can't physically harm anyone in the dream, he can mess with their senses, making everything feel real and confusing.

In theory, Moon Knight should have been unbeatable in this dream world...

But it didn't work on Moon Knight because he had set up special defenses.

Moon Knight easily overpowered the masked man. After taking several powerful hits, the masked man felt like his bones were being crushed.

This level of strength was beyond what any infected person should have. Even with enhanced abilities, their physical strength shouldn't reach this level.

"No, you can't be one of the infected," the masked man said, staring at Moon Knight. "Are you a 'Phantom'?"

No answer. The next kick felt like being hit by a wrecking ball.

The masked man was confused. Moon Knight seemed unaffected by the dream. He could see through the illusion and ignore the twisted space and altered reality.

Shaking off his shock, the masked man ordered the surrounding agents to turn their guns on Moon Knight. A storm of bullets erupted.

In the dream, the agents saw themselves fighting monstrous creatures, but in reality, they were just shooting at the air or hitting their own teammates. When they aimed at Moon Knight, the bullets flew back at them.

Moon Knight stood calmly amid the bullet storm. His white cloak flared out, and the bullets seemed to be absorbed into it, creating ripples like hitting water. The bullets' force was neutralized.

With a casual gesture, Moon Knight sent the bullets flying back toward the masked man. The bullets tore through him, and he was quickly overwhelmed.

From the outside, it looked even crazier. The agents saw the bullets shifting mid-air and hitting Moon Knight, who then redirected them back at the masked man, as if the universe itself was turning against him.

The agents were more confused than ever, wondering if they had misunderstood what was happening. It felt like watching a fantasy battle!
