Chapter 86: End Of Illusion

The Service members ouside the illusion felt completely overwhelmed. It was like they had been suddenly thrown into a fantasy movie, with gods battling around them and them mere mortals caught in the middle.

The intense fight finally ended when Moon Knight landed a powerful punch on the masked man. The mask shattered into pieces, and the man fell backward, spitting out blood.

The mans cane was knocked away, and he crashed to the ground. As he fell, everything around them began to change. The giant tentacle monster vanished, the broken site returned to normal, and the buildings stood intact.

The infected people around them also disappeared. The confused agents realized they were shooting at nothing or accidentally shooting their own teammates.

Chen Meiyue turned back to look for the masked man, only to find he was gone. The person Moon Knight had been fighting was actually a female infected who should have been dealt with earlier.

She was covered in bullet holes, her head blown apart, yet she was still moaning, "No...my child, no one can touch my child..."

It turns out it was all a setup. There had been no masked man, no new infected people, and no giant monsters.

Instead, a mysterious ability user had dragged them all into a large dream. This dream created the illusion of an attack by infected people and giant monsters, distorting their sense of reality.

The masked man was actually the female infected they had planned to capture from the start.

The dream's creator had disguised her as the masked man and used her actions to manipulate the team.

From the beginning of the operation, the team was trapped in the dream, seeing only what the dream creator wanted them to see.

On Chu Cheng's end, after Moon Knight kocked down the masked man he got close to the masked man and revealed that the masked man was just an infected person in disguise.

Elsewhere, the real masked man relaxed. He was dressed in a stylish tuxedo with a swirling mask and an oddly shaped cane. His eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"Looks like things didn't go as planned," a female voice said from behind him.

A woman approached, her outfit minimal and revealing. She had a seductive appearance, with most of her skin exposed and her long legs partially visible through her slit skirt. From the shadows, it was hard to tell if she was wearing anything underneath.

Every move she made had a certain charm, and a faint, pleasant scent lingered in the air before she even arrived.

There's a saying that "some things might look perfect on the outside but be full of hidden problems inside."

Yet there are also those who believe in exploring every dark corner, no matter how daunting. Men often follow their leaders' decisions, and when those leaders are in charge, they will follow orders without question.

The woman was almost close enough to whisper in the man's ear, but the masked man stayed calm, frowning under his mask and deep in thought.

"Dreams don't affect him," he muttered to himself. "But it doesn't make sense."

"Oh? There are still people who aren't fooled by the 'Dream Walker'?" the woman asked with a smile, placing her snow-white arm on his shoulder and leaning her head against him.

"Who's so special?"

The masked man shrugged off her arm, his voice cold. "A guy from outside the usual circles. We've never met, but he's very powerful...

...and he can see through illusions, finding reality even in dream-like traps."

"Oh? Is he really that strong?" the woman laughed, seeming amused. She leaned in closer, brushing against him with a playful smile.

"Do you want me to take action?"

She looked confident, showing a sly smile.

"No matter how strong you are, you're still human. Every human has weaknesses. You just need to find the right way to exploit them..."

"No," the masked man interrupted. "Put away your tricks. Not everyone will fall for your games.

He's strong and determined, but that doesn't make him a problem for me. He surprised me, but he won't be so lucky next time."

"Then why don't you deal with him now?" the woman asked, fiddling with his bow tie.

The masked man was momentarily speechless and shot her a cold look through his mask.

She giggled. "You're not as confident as you pretend to be, are you? Maybe you have other plans for him. Or maybe you're scared of him..."

As she spoke, she moved closer until she was almost whispering in his ear.

She placed a hand on his chest and continued softly, "I understand that feeling, that strange sense of fear and excitement..."

The masked man grabbed her wrist to stop her.

"Everyone has fears, deep down, and uncovering those fears is what I do best," he said in a deep voice.

"Wait. No matter who this White Knight is, I will find his deepest fears and trap him in his worst nightmares.

I'll push him to the brink of despair and break his spirit...

...and then, I'll grant him a merciful death."
