Chapter 160: Three

Chu Cheng drove the Spider-Man duo to tear through a bunch of the clones in the room. He was having a blast gaining experience, but the battle outside was intense and chaotic.

Each of the three clones had an invulnerable body and powerful abilities. These clones were easy prey in front of Spider-Man, but against regular agents, they fought back hard, becoming final bosses at the end of the game.

These three had the home-field advantage or pulled off sneak attacks, while the team led by Luo Yajun didn't even know the map and got there half-lost, making the situation worse.

The agents around him fell one after another, and in the next moment, one of the Leng Ji was upon Luo Yajun. Without thinking, he transformed his arm into a sword and stabbed at Leng Ji, but the enemy dodged effortlessly, brandishing a combat knife he had taken from a previous agent, and stabbed Luo Yajun straight through.

Luo Yajun's body was pierced from front to back, the bloody blade bursting out the other side, with dark red blood spraying everywhere. He paused, stunned, but in the next second, his left hand shifted from a sword blade to a mechanical claw, locking onto Leng Ji's wrist. His other hand turned into a shotgun, pressing it against the enemy's face.

"Got you, asshole."

He grinned and pulled the trigger.

Using his body as bait, relying on his thick skin to take a hit, he created an instant opening in his opponent's movements and took the opportunity to unleash a barrage of firepower.

Luo Yajun wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but ever since he started using his own illusion, it felt like he'd turned into some kind of human shield, taking hits every day.

He'd gotten used to it over time. He had more muscle than his teammates and could heal, so the tactic of trading injuries for injuries was one he could live with.

He fired his gun at point-blank range, nearly blowing up his own weapon. Leng Ji took the blast head-on, staggering back a couple of steps.

The chance was too good to pass up. Ignoring his own injuries, Luo Yajun put his hands together and conjured up a rocket launcher, launching a missile straight at Leng Ji.

This one seemed to do the trick. Leng Ji was blasted back, rolling several times before slamming into a corner, with bits of skin scattering across the floor.

Luo Yajun felt light-headed. He dropped to one knee, exhausted, and looked at the figure he had just blown away. With a dry smile, he muttered, "Ha, how about that...you bastard?"

But then, to his horror, the fallen figure twitched.

Luo Yajun's eyes widened.

Leng Ji got up again. His dislocated joints snapped back into place with a sickening crunch, and his bruised body slowly began to heal. While he wasn't completely unharmed, it didn't seem to slow him down either.

Luo Yajun gritted his teeth and tried to stand, but the blood loss and exhaustion forced him to drop back down to one knee.

"Damn, what kind of monster is this... how the hell did Batman make it look so easy?"

It was baffling to think that Batman had taken down this guy twice before. How was that even possible?

Leng Ji was snapping his joints back into place, and it looked like he would soon be back in peak condition, ready to finish the job. Luo Yajun was trying to transform his body into new weapons, his mind racing to come up with a plan.

A thunderous roar grabbed everyone's attention.

A loud boom echoed through the pitch-black space, and a flash of blinding blue light illuminated the entire cave. A bolt of lightning sliced through the darkness like a javelin, hitting Leng Ji right in front of Luo Yajun.

Electric sparks flew everywhere, and the impact sent Leng Ji tumbling backward. He rolled several times before slamming his head against a corner of the wall, his body covered in black smoke.

Luo Yajun was stunned. He turned toward the source of the lightning and saw a man emerging from the shadows, wearing the uniform of the Secret Service Nine. Electrical currents still crackled around his palm.

He recognized the man.

It was Liang Ye, an agent of the Secret Service Nine. In the past, he was one of the few capable agents in the unit, and rumor had it that he had recently developed a new ability.

Luo Yajun didn't know the details, but he had heard that this guy's phantom was super powerful.

The other two Leng Ji didn't even have time to react before the lightning struck them both, knocking them to the ground.

Liang Ye's entire body was glowing with electric light, and the current flowing from him seemed to form a thundercloud in mid-air. Bolts of lightning shot out like thunder, creating a terrifying scene.

"Finally found the right place," Liang Ye said with a smirk, releasing a burst of lightning. "This creepy place is really something, with all its twists and turns... But I think I've got it right this time. So, I just need to take these guys out, right?"

He glanced over at Luo Yajun.

"But wasn't that guy supposed to be dead? Why are there three more of him now?"

"Who knows? They're all enemies anyway," Luo Yajun replied, gritting his teeth and feeling a bit queasy.

When he entered the scene, the three Leng Ji were too busy with their own obsession to notice that backup had arrived. By the time they snapped out of it, Liang Ye had already unleashed his electric therapy. His powerful lightning attacks had their entire bodies and tentacles twitching. The continuous electric assault also paralyzed them, making them easy targets.

Of course, these Leng Ji all had thick skin with the ability to regenerate quickly. Even though the power of the lightning seemed strong, as soon as the electric shock passed and the intensity weakened, they would try to get up again.

"Hmm... still standing? Alright then..."

Liang Ye waved his hand and kept the shocks coming.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Secret Service and the pharmaceutical factory were completely overrun, a one-sided massacre. The three Leng Ji tore through the opposition like they were frying fish.

But then, when Liang Ye entered the scene, everything changed. Suddenly, it was a 180-degree shift. Liang Ye blasted the three opponents down, one after another, each blow ripping through their skin, leaving deep holes and sending lightning flashing in all directions.

Now, the folks who were getting beat down a moment ago stood awkwardly around, clutching their guns.

Some people at the pharmaceutical factory couldn't help but glance over at the Secret Service agents, their eyes clearly saying, "Isn't this a bit over the top? Is he really on your team?"

Even the Secret Service agents, who were supposed to be Liang Ye's teammates, looked surprised.

"Seriously? We had a big shot like this on our side."

"How come I've never heard of him being this powerful before?"

But regardless of how surprised they were, he was still one of their own. As Liang Ye continued to dominate, it made the rest of the team feel a bit prouder. Watching Liang Ye in action, throwing down opponent after opponent, even the posture of the Secret Service agents improved a bit, and they felt a sense of shared glory.

The bombardment went on for what felt like forever, until the three Mr. Freezes were reduced to unrecognizable messes, leaving behind three smoking craters on the ground.

"Just the three of them?"

After making sure everyone had caught their breath, Liang Ye clapped his hands and glanced at his team.

His teammates had mixed expressions.

All at once?

Dude, can't you think about how we feel?

Before anyone could respond, a loud rumble came from the side.

It was the door to the nearby pharmaceutical factory—a door that had resisted all attempts to open it—until now.

Now it swung open on its own.

The room fell silent in an instant. It felt like the moment before a boss fight in a video game, when the atmosphere is thick with tension.

The three Leng Ji they just faced had been tough enough. No one wanted to imagine what might come through that door.

Then the door opened.

A dark figure with a massive, intimidating build shot out from behind the door at lightning speed, radiating a powerful, terrifying aura.

As soon as everyone caught sight of the blur, their hearts skipped a beat. But in the next moment, that imposing figure tripped over a rock and crashed to the ground, rolling several times due to the momentum.

Everyone: "..."

The dark figure didn't even bother getting up. Instead, he scrambled away, shouting, "Get out of my way! Move!"

Suddenly, two white silk threads shot forward, one latching onto each of his legs, dragging him back in a flash.

Two figures leaped out of the doorway, still arguing as they appeared.

"This time, I'm landing the first hit!"

"Yeah, right! I've got better aim than you."

As they spoke, the dark figure was lifted into the air again. Red, blue, and white flashes surrounded him, launching a series of mid-air attacks right in front of everyone.

The expressions on all the agents' faces were priceless, their mouths hanging open in perfect "o" shapes.
