Rye knew the exact moment his gaze slid down her face to her chest, as he leaned closer until she could feel his breath on her neck.

Rye knew she should leave. Sleeping with Klas was something she had sworn never to do. They were just using each other. She needed his blood, and he needed her to remove the chains that bound his powers.

"Hurry up" Holi muttered under her breath, walking faster than before in a way that made Rye do the same, not wanting to be left behind.

Her eyes automatically scanned for Klas, wondering why she had yet to see him in the crowd of people, considering how easy it was to spot such a domineering figure.

But a few seconds later when she finally got to where they were, she wasn't surprised to see the answer to her question, as she saw Klas surrounded by a group of women dressed in white robes.

It was obvious that they were also apprentices from another temple, but the worst part was how they ignored their bond and concentrated fully on Klas, trying to get his attention.

"Wow! You have your work cut out for you," Holi turned around to whisper to her the second she saw what was happening.
