"Haha, you're too kind. What skill do I have?" Adam said modestly.
"No need to be modest, young man. Would you be willing to sell this jade to me? I can offer you 800,000, which I believe is already the highest price," David earnestly proposed.
"David, if you're willing to buy, I certainly won't object. After all, I owe today's opportunity to your help," Adam said.
"Then it's settled," David nodded.
"Wait a moment! I offer one million!" a man suddenly shouted.
David's face turned ugly upon hearing this, but he didn't speak. Instead, he looked at Adam.
Following the direction of the voice, Adam saw a man with two bodyguards walking slowly with a woman.
The woman was beautiful, like a blooming flower, exuding grace and nobility.
Adam's gaze was completely drawn to the woman passing by, ignoring the man behind her.
The woman had long flowing hair, clear eyes like autumn water, rosy lips, and snow-white skin, breathtakingly beautiful.
She was dressed in professional attire, her perfect figure showing alluring curves, attracting attention.
However, her eyes revealed a hint of fatigue and sadness, seemingly intentionally distancing herself from the man behind her, showing clear disdain.
"Kid! Are you deaf? I said, I'll offer one million for this jade," the man walked up to Adam and said arrogantly.
"Not for sale!" Adam replied coldly.
"Kid, dare to talk to me like that! Do you know who I am?" the man fumed.
"What does it matter who you are? Nuts!" Adam retorted disdainfully.
"You're asking for it!" the man raised his hand to slap Adam.
A glint flashed in Adam's eyes, ready to retaliate, when the woman who had been silent all along finally spoke up.
"Enough! Blake, are you here to buy jade or to cause trouble?" the woman's voice was crisp and pleasant.
"Hmph, kid, you'll pay for this!" the man snorted and turned away, his eyes full of resentment as he looked at the woman.
"I'm really sorry. Let me apologize on behalf of my friend," the woman said to Adam.
"That's right, are you also here to buy jade?" Adam asked.
"Yes, can you sell me this piece of jade you have?" the woman asked.
"I'm sorry, I've already promised to sell it to someone else. But if you trust me, I can sell you all the jade I unlock later," Adam said.
"Hmph! Sounds good. Who do you think you are? Just because you can unlock jade, you think you're something special? Look at you, just lucky," Blake sneered.
"I don't know who I am, but I know you're not a good person," Adam retorted.
"Kid, you're not bad!" Blake said darkly.
"Let's make a bet. If you can unlock a better piece of jade than the one you have, then I'll pay you the same amount as the value of the jade you unlock. But if you can't unlock a better piece, then you have to kneel down and kowtow to me three times. Do you dare to bet?" Blake said disdainfully.
"Okay! I'll bet with you, but I don't trust you, so we need a notary," Adam said.
"Then let me be the notary! I believe I can handle any tricks here," David spoke up.
Upon hearing David's name, Blake's face changed instantly, becoming somewhat pale, and his gaze towards Adam grew even darker.
"So you're Mr. David, I'm Brittany, daughter of Brandon. My father has mentioned you before, I didn't expect to meet you here," the woman said respectfully to David.
"So you're Brandon's daughter. It's been a while since I've seen Brandon. Let your father visit me when he has time," David said.
"Okay, I'll definitely tell my father," Brittany said happily.
David nodded, acknowledging her words, then turned to Adam and Blake.
"Is it okay if I act as the notary?" David asked.
"No problem," Adam said, realizing that David's identity was probably not simple.
"I'm fine with it too," Blake said in a low voice.
"Good! Since there's no problem, let's begin!" David said.
"Hehe...wait a moment, David, I'll sell the jade to you first! Otherwise, I won't have money to buy those rough stones," Adam said somewhat embarrassedly.
"Haha...no problem, give me your bank account number, and I'll have someone transfer the money to you right away," David laughed heartily, not hiding his admiration for Adam in the slightest.
The transaction was quickly completed, and Adam glanced at the SMS alert from the bank, finding that one million had been deposited.
"David, what's going on? Didn't we agree on eighty thousand? Why did you give me a million?" Adam asked, puzzled.
"Hehe... someone offered a million to buy your jade, how could I let you lose out! Rest assured, even if someone offers ten million, I can afford it," David said, clearly displeased with Blake's sudden price increase earlier.
Blake's face alternated between pale and red, but he dared not speak up.
"Haha... thanks, David," Adam said cheerfully, walking towards the shelf with the rough stones.
Blake glared at Adam with fiery eyes, wishing he could kill Adam right now if not for his concerns.
Adam examined the rough stones on the shelf one by one, pretending to carefully select them. In fact, he had already used his mental detection to determine which stone contained jade.
"I'll take this one! How much?" Adam pointed to a rough stone the size of a human head and asked the attendant. However, this particular stone looked like an ordinary rock.
"Are you sure about this, young man? Take another look, I think the one next to it is better," David kindly reminded, pointing to a rough stone with white calcite veins and excellent gambling potential.
"Thanks for the reminder, David, but I trust my luck," Adam said. While the stone David pointed out did contain jade, it wasn't as good as the one Adam chose.
"If Brittany is interested, that stone is quite good. I can give you a surprise," Adam said.
"I'll take that stone then," Brittany told the attendant.
"Alright, the price of this stone is 480,000. Will you be paying with cash or card?" the attendant asked.
