Ava sighed heavily as she trudged into her bedroom, kicking off her shoes. She had managed to scarf down some snacks and milk just to get Mrs. Williams off her case about not eating properly. Now all she wanted was the sweet oblivion of sleep to wash away this exhausting day.

She plopped onto the chair facing her vanity mirror and began removing her makeup with a weary hand. As she gently swiped the cotton pad across her skin, her thoughts drifted to Liam despite her best efforts. That cocky, infuriating man - he hadn't even bothered to call or text her all day after their fake date fiasco. So much for his promise to be discreet and act normal around her.
