yagami journey [part 4]

Chapter 32:

As they stared at each other, the girl's eyes traveled down to Yagami's body, noticing the numerous scars that marked his skin. She was shocked, unable to hide her astonishment.

"Who are you?" Yagami asked, his voice calm despite the unexpected encounter.

"I am Ami," she replied, her voice tinged with curiosity and uncertainty.

Yagami nodded slowly, acknowledging her presence. "Please turn around for a moment so I can dress," he requested.

Ami quickly averted her gaze, turning her back to give Yagami privacy. He stepped out of the water and retrieved his clothes, dressing swiftly.

After dressing, he asked her, "Why are you here?"

"Oh, I got kicked out of my family, so I am here to collect some wood," Ami replied.

Yagami, still calm, said, "Reaching for wood in this vast forest? Do you think I am stupid?"

"Sorry, actually I got lost and was wandering," she admitted.

She then asked him, "But why are you here?"

"Nothing much, just to train," Yagami said.

They conversed for a while, sharing snippets of their lives and experiences. Ami was curious about Yagami's past and his training.

"How many years have you been training?" she asked.

"Like about 5-6 years," Yagami replied.

She was shocked and asked him, "Are you a chi user?"

He nodded in response.

Yagami decided to return her to her home. On the way, she asked, "Are you powerful?"

Yagami looked at her, then said, "No, still a very long path to travel."

Yagami safely guided her out of the forest and was about to reenter when she stopped him. "Please, come with me," she said, staring into his eyes.

After a moment of hesitation, Yagami finally agreed. He lifted her into his arms and began to float. As they rose above the trees, he asked, "Where do you live?"

Momentarily shocked and feeling shy, she pointed and said, "There."

Yagami flew towards the direction she indicated, moving at a speed comparable to a star streaking across the sky. All the people in town looked up, shocked at the sight.

When they reached her home, Yagami was surprised to find it was actually quite large. Suddenly, he felt a presence. He looked back but saw nothing. Then, pointing his finger at a wall, he said, "I'll count to three."

Chi started to gather at his fingertip. Ami, shocked, asked, "What are you doing?"

Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere from the wall. Ami was even more shocked and exclaimed, "Brother!"

The brother quickly stepped forward and began to praise Yagami, hoping to be let go. "You're incredible! Your power is truly something else," he said.

Ami joined in, "Please, Yagami, let him go."

Yagami looked coldly at the boy, his gaze piercing. But then, suddenly, Yagami's demeanor changed in a funny way. "What's your name?" he asked, a playful tone in his voice.

Shocked, the boy replied, "Amit."

"Nice name," Yagami said with a smile. Then he continued, "Tell me, how many power systems are there in this world? I felt an energy inside you that was not chi."

Amit, still taken aback, answered, "There are many: magic, aura, mana, kin, and lastly, chi."

Yagami asked, "And which one are you?"

"Aura," Amit replied.

Yagami released a bit of chi from his fingertip and asked, "What is this?"

"You're a chi user!" Amit exclaimed. "Yes, why?" Yagami asked.

"Chi users are very rare," Amit explained.

After that, Yagami decided to spend the night at their place. However, late that night, the family gathered to discuss Yagami. The leader, suspicious of Yagami, inquired, "Ami, did you really find him in the forbidden forest?"

"Yes," said Ami.

"Which means he might be the wandering chaos rumored about a century ago," the leader mused. They decided to use him for their own purposes.

As Yagami, Ami, and Amit walked through the bustling town, Yagami's eyes were drawn to a vendor selling an array of colorful masks. One mask in particular caught his eye. He picked it up and examined it closely.

"I like this mask," Yagami said, licking the edge of it thoughtfully. "Ami, can you buy it for me?"

Ami shook her head, smiling. "No, Yagami, we can't just buy things on a whim."

Yagami's expression turned serious. "I'll return the favor someday," he promised.

Ami sighed, unable to resist his earnestness. "Alright, alright," she said, nodding. She handed over the money to the vendor, who wrapped the mask and handed it to Yagami.

Just as Yagami secured the mask, a sudden commotion drew their attention. They heard a noise coming from a nearby alley. A young boy was bullying a poor slave of the Majin tribe, kicking him while he lay on the ground. Despite the cruelty of the scene, none of the townspeople intervened.

Yagami, his eyes narrowing with anger, stepped forward. The sight of the Majin slave being mistreated ignited a fierce rage within him.

"Yagami, calm down," Ami said urgently, placing a hand on his arm. "That boy's father is one of the pillars of this country. We can't afford to make enemies."

But Yagami, ever defiant, ignored her warning. He donned the mask he had just bought, and an ominous aura began to emanate from him. His chaotic chi filled the air, becoming so intense that those who were witnessing the bullying began to struggle for breath.

The boy who had been bullying the slave fell to his knees, gasping as the ground beneath him started to crack and tremble. Even Ami and Amit were taken aback by the sheer power of Yagami's chi. They had known he was strong, but this display of power exceeded their expectations.

From a distance, a man noticed the disturbance and felt a wave of fear wash over him. Without a second thought, he sprinted towards the source of the chaotic energy, his mind racing with worry.
