Time to pay fine

"Whew, almost didn't make it" Owen heaved a sigh. "Stop exaggerating, there was no way you could have died there and you can't deny that it was worth it" I said with a smile almost appearing on my face especially when seeing the number of points I had amassed.

My points tab was showing exactly '77591'. How much are your points? I asked.

"I've got sixty nine thousand plus" he replied. "You?"

"I've got more than enough to pay the fine" I said before adding; "let's head back".

"Not now, I have to rest for a bit, my energy is down to five percent". Hearing what he said, I also took notice of my energy, suprisingly I still had about eight percent.

I thought about it but It didn't make sense, Owen is in gold rank, he's supposed to have more energy reserves than me. But soon threw the thought to the back of my mind, it didn't matter anyway.

The thing that mattered the most right now was my breakthrough, If before I had easy difficulty keeping it in check, now it has upgraded to mid difficulty. It seems the hunt and the use of my bloodlines is what is causing the increase in difficulty.

It seems I need to decrease how much I use my bloodline abilities in the coming days and it doesn't exactly help that our mid terms exam was in the coming week, this Tuesday to be precise. But anyway I'll leave that to the future me, it's his own problem to sort out.

After resting for a bit, we headed back. It was almost dusk when we reached the dorms. We said our 'see you tomorrows' and each headed to our dorm rooms. We were that tired.

Entering my room, I removed my hunting gear and went for a bath. After my bath, I made some noodles or ramen in this case with hot sauce and prawns. I had wanted to make the ramen during our hunt in the valley but was too occupied and only ate some snacks.

I took my first bite and damn was i a good cook. But the problem with good things is that they always end. Soon enough I had finished it.

I headed to the bedroom and just as I lay on the bed, I had a bad premonition as if I was forgetting something, I tried but couldn't remember what it was. So I simply let go and fell into Morpheus' realm.

My alarm rang at 4:45am exactly. With a sigh I dragged my body off the bed and into the bathroom. After a minute or two, I came out, wore a training bodysuit and headed for the portal station.

As soon as I came out from the other side of the portal, I felt a hand latch onto my shoulder, and I felt a familiar feeling of my body moving at speeds I couldn't fathom until I suddenly stopped and instead of the portal station, I found myself in front of a towering mountain, it was beautiful view with the greenery and all but that was not my concern at the moment.

"Blerg!!, blerg!!" My insides twisted as I vomited the remnants of the undigested ramen I ate the night before.

"Hmph, weak" a voice snorted next to me.

"What'd you do that for" I asked as I turned to see the architect of my current situation.

"Where were you yesterday?" he grumbled and then it hit me, it was what I was forgetting.

'Well shit, not that I could do anything about it, and I had rather miss a training session than having to increase my fine by ten percent'. So I faced him and told him everything about the fine and the hunt yesterday.

"I understand" he said in an suprisingly understanding tone which instead of reassuring me, sent shivers down my spine. And just on cue, he continued; "But it still doesn't change the fact that you missed a training session".

'And here it comes' I thought. "So we're going to make up for it today" he smirked with a sadistic expression.

"You're going to start by giving me three hundred reps of push ups, sit-ups and squats and then meet me at the top of this mountain after that" he ordered.

"Is that all?" I asked genuinely but I soon came to regret that.

"Of course not, you can fly right? So we're making it a little more challenging. That is with your bloodline sealed" he smirked once again. The scar on the left side of his face making him look fierce.

"Take this" he said handing me a blue bracelet. "What is it?" I asked.

"It's a bloodline suppressor " he replied. "It is used to nullify the use of your abilities essentially making you no different from a normie. Except of course your physical abilities".

"Fascinating, can I....." I started speaking but he cut me off; "No you cannot keep it".

"Okay, how about...."

"No you can't borrow it" he said cutting me off once again.

"How did you know what I was gonna ask?

"Simple, been there, done that. Now forget about that and start your reps. Then after that you put on this bracelet and meet me at the top of this mountain. You only have two hours, now START!!" he bellowed.

Long story short, I survived, barely, but It took me no less than five hours to reach the top of the mountain. It was about a kilometer tall.

Arriving at my dorm room, I took a shower and just as I came out of the bathroom, I saw an Owen sitting on my couch with one leg over crossed on the other.

"What the hell are you doing here and how the hell did you get in?" I asked.

"Well for starters you should learn to make expressions while cursing and secondly, I came to get you so we could go pay the fine and as for how I got in, how do you always get in?" He blabbered.

"Fine give me five minutes, I'll be ready" I said as I also wanted to get this 'fine' thing over with. "What do you mean five minutes are you a girl? he chuckled. "Says the boy who spent hours in a single store undecided on what to buy" I scoffed.
