Then I texted back to him "I'll meet you there". Then i took the elevator to the ground floor and then headed to the kitchen haven. I reached there in a few minutes, though I was leisurely walking. I also noticed less cadets than usual. Looks like some have already left.
I already saw even before I entered, and he wasn't alone. He was with Lily, Victor and Ashley.
"Hey, didn't see you since we came back yesterday, thought you were still resting that's why I didn't disturb you" Owen said the moment I reached their table.
"Yeah I just woke up" I replied.
"Oh Adam, haven't seen you in a while" lily greeted with a smile to which I nodded. I didn't want anything to do with her, everything about her from her smile to her cheerfull expression screamed craftiness.
Ashley nodded at me to which I also nodded back.
"Tsk" Victor clicked his tongue, the disdain on his face evident. Before I used to think nobles were idiots, I still think they are but I don't blame them, after all it was the result of their upbringing.
Part of the reason I don't blame them is because even I have a bit of superiority complex, but mine isn't as stupid or as unreasonable as theirs, my superiority complex is on the emphasis of strength.
If I'm stronger than you, then I'm superior to you. So I didn't understand why this smug bastard was looking at me with disdain because I'm sure as hell I can mop the floor with his face.
Then I turned back to Owen and said "Oh right, I came to tell you I'm leaving today".
"Whaaaat!!? Why didn't tell me since?" he exclaimed.
"Well I just got to know we're having a holiday yesterday" I shrugged.
"You know, I was also leaving tomorrow but not anymore, I'm also leaving today" he declared drawing shocking looks from the trio.
"You do know our destinations are planets apart right?" I asked.
"Who cares? It's the journey that matters!" he exclaimed.
"It's not exactly a journey if it's just a portal away" I stated.
"Sigh, it seems I just have to leave tomorrow" he exhaled in defeat.
"When are you leaving then?" he asked once again.
"Right now"
"Then where are your luggages?" he asked.
"In my storage, where else?" my words flowed naturally.
"Hahahahaha" he started laughing while Victor clicked his tongue before muttering
"What do you expect from a commoner?"
Owen was laughing for over half a minute, it was starting to get on my nerves when lily interjected and said "What he means by laughing like a mad man is that, you're not allowed to go with your smartwatch".
'I see, so it's like that' I thought as I looked at Owen's annoying face, which was horrible as he was still laughing. I then turned to Lily and curtly said "Thank you".
"You're welcome" she replied.
Honestly of all things, I didn't expect that it's not allowed to leave with the smart watch, after all we did leave the academy with our smartwatch twice before. The first time during our outing with the adventure club and the second our midterm.
"Here take this, the space inside might be only three cubic meters but it will be enough for your luggage" Owen said breaking me out of my thoughts as he passed me a silver ring with a little gem embedded on it. It was only now that I registered that he had stopped laughing.
'A spatial ring' I thought. "Thank you, I really needed that" I replied as I took the ring from him.
"Where do you leave anyway?" he asked.
"Sector 12, district 4, millennium city" I replied. There was nothing wrong with giving my address right?
"Great, I might pay you a visit" he grinned. And now I was starting to regret it.
"I'll get going, I'll see you in two weeks .... hopefully" I muttered the last word under my breath.
Owen tried to talk but I tuned him out and decisively walked towards the exit of the haven. After that, I had to go back to my room and switch all my belongings from my smartwatch storage to the newly acquired spatial ring.
And then I headed to the portal station and punched in the coordinates given by my smartwatch. I then found myself at the 'exit' of the academy which I had come to realize was false. After all, the academy didn't have an entrance, it was a vast continent actually, encased in a barrier.
The moment I appeared, an instructor came to me an asked "Smart watch?" to which I deactivated the smartwatch and handed it to him. "You're good to go, but remember you must return in two weeks" he reminded.
Soon I was out of the exit, where 'Nebula Academy' was shining at the gates.
I took a hover car to the city's portal station and bought a ticket for earth, precisely sector 12, district 4.
In less than an hour, it was my turn. "Ticket please?" the operator asked and I passed my ticket to him. "Have a nice journey" he smiled. I entered the portal and when I exited it, I was in different environment. In a sense that even the air felt different, it was the air I had inhaled for the better part of my life.
Coming out of the portal station, I saw the familiar environment of earth, the culture, the people. In short, I was.....home.
I went straight to the hover train station and this time I bought a ticket for millennium city.
The hover train is the second fastest vehicle after ships. But it still took half an hour to get to millennium city, I could have gone by a portal but I chose to go by hover train.
I walked out of the bustling train station and took another hover cab to my address. In no time the cab entered a decent neighborhood, not rich but not poor either and soon stopped in front of a rather decent house.
It was my home, after getting out from the cab, I stood in front of the house for a bit as if expecting my mother to open the door before I shook my head and entered.
