Bored

It was my home, after getting out from the cab, I stood in front of the house for a bit as if expecting my mother to open the door before I shook my head and entered.

"Welcome back Adam" a beautiful voice said, the moment the door scanned me. "Good to see you too Daisy" I replied to the resident 'CAI' as I took in the house. It was just as I left it, clean and pristine, not that I was expecting it not to be. With a few cleaning bots to do the job, of course it would be clean.

Even though said bots were old models of about eleven years, they still worked as good as new. The house was nothing much, just a ground floor with the living room, a kitchen and a mini closet. While the first floor had two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, each in a bedroom.

"How's it been Daisy?" I asked.

"Everything's been well Adam".

That was Daisy, the resident Conscious Artificial intelligence, or for short CAI. CAIs are different from normal AIs, the CAIs can learn and adapt even up to be able to make a decision without any input or data. In short they were just freer AIs.

Daisy has been in this house since even before I was born. At one point I used to think that I had an invisible older sister and my parents were lying to me but that was when I was four.

I went upstairs to my room since there was nothing to unpack, I took a shower before I decided to climb into the bed to release the little to no stress I packed on the way. Maybe it was because I slept for over twelve hours the day before, but I couldn't sleep.

Now that I reason, the next two weeks are gonna be very boring. My eagerness to come home made me forget that I had nothing to do here. And training, what's the use of the holiday if I'm going to train throughout.

After a few hours of pretending to sleep, I stood up and headed for the kitchen. "Daisy, what do we have in stock" I asked.

"Absolutely nothing Adam" Daisy replied bluntly making me remember that I left the house absolutely empty especially the freezer.

"Harsh, you could have at least sugarcoat it". I said but Daisy didn't reply. What was I expecting anyway, she was an AI a conscious one but an AI no less.

I stifled a groan as I realized I'd have to go shopping. And that's part of my top 3 hate list. Shopping, yeah I loathe it.

"I'll be back Daisy" I said as I went out the door. I could have ordered for all groceries, but even though I hated shopping, it was boring as hell at home, that's why I decided to go shopping myself.

I first went to a greenhouse, and got some veges and then headed to a nearby mall for ingredients. But the problem was, I didn't know where to find them. Thankfully I saw some people I could ask. It was a group of four around my age, all fixated on their devices. They were two girls and two boys.

So I walked to them and asked as politely as I could "Hello, could you please direct me to the groceries section? I'm kind of new around here". It wasn't a lie, It was my first time coming to this mall. While I lived around the area, this mall was too expensive for me back then with the measly allowance given by the government.

"It's on the second floor opposite the adjacent to the...." one of the girls answered as she raised her head to look at me before zoning out. It seemed like she was trying to get words out but couldn't, 'what's wrong with her' I thought.

Her friends hearing her not saying anything also gazed up at me. "Holy shit!!?" one of the boys with blue eyes exclaimed before he turned to the ginger haired boy beside him and said "Andre, are you seeing this?"

"He's..... he's gorgeous!" the Andre guy said. I know I'm handsome, it's not narcissism but a fact but why are they exaggerating it. The other girl on the other hand was more reserved and instead smiled before saying

"Please excuse my friends, it's just that they're not used to seeing guys this handsome, I'm jenny by the way, nice to meet you" the now known Jenny introduced herself.

She was beautiful in fact with her fiery red hair and eyes that if I hadn't been for the girls I had seen at the academy, I would have said she was the most beautiful I girl I've ever met not that I've met many girls, but alas with the likes of Aurora, Ashley and Lily, she didn't even come close.

"Ahem, sorry for spacing, as I was saying the it's on the second floor, adjacent to the elevator" before I could reply to Jenny, the first girl chipped in, her cheeks red in embarrassment.

"Thank you and nice to meet you too" I said to them before turning on my heels and heading for the elevator but a voice called behind me. "Hold on, we never got your name, I'm Drake and this is Olivia" the boy with blue eyes introduced himself and the first girl.

"I'm Adam" I curtly introduced myself before walking to the elevator.

"Damn, he's cool, you see it Andre? if there is a representation of cool, then we just met it" Drake said.

"How can a boy be more beautiful than me!? Jenny lamented. "You're the one to talk, I fumbled in front of him" Olivia also said.

I had gotten everything I had come for and some little extra I was not expecting and then made sure to leave the mall through another entrance. In no time I reached my house, it wasn't as if it was far to begin with, it was only a ten minutes walk.

Today might have been boring, but I have a feeling that tomorrow won't be. Because I saw something today and I was planning to explore it tomorrow. So I walked into my house with a rare smile.
