"Oh I have many of different variety, it's up to your taste" the man grinned before saying "come with me". Soon we arrived at a store, even from the outside you could tell the devices in there were good tech.
"And here's my store" the man said and continued. "As you can see there are different types to choose from".
And he was right, there were so many that I didn't even know where to start from. There were some flashing a holographic display of their features and manuals and some advertising themselves. All in all it was a store mainly for Internet devices. But soon my eye caught a white tab floating on an elevated platform.
"Aha, I see something has caught your eye" the man grinned. "This here is a tab that has all the holographic and internet features you can imagine and can morph to the size of a palm and even a smartwatch" he said explaining the device's features.
'Hmmm nice, maybe I'll get this one' I thought. The part that impressed me about it's features were the internet access, meaning I could access Eclipse and the morphing part. During my time in the academy, it seems I've come to like having a smartwatch.
"How much is it? I asked.
His grin widened before he exclaimed in a dramatic fashion"It's called the g-3600!"
"There were only three made and this is the last available one. The other two g3-600s sold at 1.5 million each but I'm willing to sell this one to you at only 1 million credits" he sighed as if mulling over the part that he was loosing money.
Without a word I turned on my heels towards the exit of the store. He must be simply deluded if he thought I would buy that device any more than a hundred thousand credits.
"Wait, five hundred thousand" he said but I didn't stop.
"Three hundred!?, Two hundred" he tried again but I still didn't stop, weird because I was supposed to be out of the store by now.
"Okay fine one hundred" he said as a last measure, to which I turned and said "Fifty, if you can sell it fifty I'll buy it".
He thought for a moment before he shook his head and said "I'm sorry I can't go below seventy".
"Deal" I replied.
"What!?"
"I said deal, I'll buy it at seventy thousand" I repeated. Damn, one's got to be really careful of merchants, I mean this dude was about to rip me off like what, about nine hundred and thirty thousand credits.
Meanwhile the store owner's face boiled with frustration, he had been played, by a novice at that. The boy acted as if he didn't want it again and even proposed a below average price making him say the actual prize.
How had he known the boy was a novice? Well just because the boy looked like a rich kid and if there's something common about rich kids, it's that they're dumb and don't know about the real world. He might have underestimated the boy but there won't be a second time.
I paid the seventy thousand credits after which the store owner packed the device for me which I equipped as a smartwatch then and there. "I would have to link this with Daisy after I reach home" I mused.
After that I left the store and went to the place that I had originally came for. "Welcome to Green Foundation Real Estates, a staff would be here to meet with you shortly" A voice that was undoubtedly an AI's sounded as I passed through the glass doors of the building.
There weren't as much people here as there were in the building I bought my device, only a few people here and there and each with a staff accompanying them. Now how did I know that they were staffs? Well it was because they were all wearing the same uniform.
True to the AI's words, In less than half a minute a staff approached me. It was a man, and how do I put this, he's extremely short for his age. While I was between 6 feet and 6'1, the man would be around 5 feet.
"Nice to meet you, welcome to Green Foundation, I'm Marcus".
"I'm Adam" I replied.
"What would you like young man? We have plots of lands ranging from all prices and also houses all ready to be sold. If you've got enough money of course" he chuckled at the end.
"I would like to buy a house please!" I replied.
"Well then you're in luck, we have many of them, which ones are to your taste? a rough description please?" he asked.
"I think I would prefer one well furnished with every necessity but not too lavish looking, a training room in the basement, preferably somewhere near a water body, be it a river, stream or lake" I replied.
"Hmmm, precise descriptions, but let me tell you, there's no way you can get all that in a single house, so no need to get your hopes high but I'll check, can you wait for a few minutes?"
"No problem" I replied. Yeah I wanted to buy a new house, maybe it was because I got the money, but what's the point of money If you don't spend it. That was why I had asked Daisy about her servers, I planned to shift her to be my new house's AI.
But that won't be happening no more, instead I'll get a shared server where Daisy will be both at my new and old house since there was no way I was ever selling my parents house. It was the last remainder of my parents, I couldn't bear to sell it.
Soon the short man was back. "You're in luck, we've got five matches but two of them are not in this district and one is not even in this sector" he explained. I wasn't surprised, I had expected that, but it didn't matter if it was in this district or sector.
"I've never been away from this district or sector, heck I've never even been out of millennium city, except for when I was going to the academy a little over two months ago.
