Chapter 99 - Tanya's First Dungeon Dive

"Ray, can you accompany me tomorrow?" Kuroka suddenly asked while they were both enjoying their alone time without the kids.

"Sure. But where to?" He accepted immediately and asked where she wanted him to accompany her to.

"Nowhere far. It's… about Koneko." She mutters hesitantly. "Thanks to you, we both bonded back together. She is my only family member left in this world and I want you to have a good relationship with her too. So, I hoped to introduce you both."

Ray didn't object to it immediately and instead gave her a raised eyebrow and then asked, "Are you sure it's a wise idea?" To that question, Kuroka snorted loudly and replied, "Better than that Boob obsessed pervert." She said while tightening her fist rather angrily.

"Let me guess, you caught him openly salivating while looking at your boobs?" Ray said teasing while using his hind limbs to prod her jiggly jugs held together by her black kimono.

"Are you not angry that another male openly ogling at your wife?"

"Issei. Ogling? Sure. He is that quirky and admires all manner of boobs like a true connoisseur, enough that he got the attention of the Boob Goddess from across the dimension. But aside from his pure admiration, I doubt he held any perverted intention. Otherwise, you wouldn't even remember his existence." Ray replied with a rather ominous tone on the latter part which surprised Kuroka a little from the expression on her face.

Kuroka suddenly swoops Ray resting on her lap into a hug with joy on her face. "I didn't know my Tsundere husband was that possessive."

"Do you rather not? "You are mine after all. Mine alone." He wonders as not everyone appreciates having a possessive partner, himself included.

Kuroka shook her head and laughed light-heartedly. "As if I would. After all, women like the feeling of being desired." She said with a sultry whisper to his heart that twitched because she purposely blew a mouthful of air to tease him.

"Figured." He shrugged and then asked. "Also, what about me being a Tsundere?"

"No. It was nothing." She hastily changed the topic, thinking he wouldn't realized her intention. "Anyway, hubby. Help me go to that Dan…"

"Danmachi world?" He asked.

"Yeah, that world. I want to look at my new daughters. I heard from Sakura that they are both cute." Kuroka was excited and already fawning over her newly adopted daughters.

"Daughters?" Ray rolled his eyes at her attempt to change the topic but entertain it anyway. "I only remember adopting Jack. Alice simply followed Abby as Familiar." Ray corrected her over her false information before tearing open the void with his nail extended from his paw.

"Then I will adopt Alice. The more the merrier~" Kuroka sang as she eagerly picked him up and waited for him to open the portal.

Ray figures they would probably spend quite some time in the Danmachi world. How could he tell? Future Sight.

Anyway, he wanted to leave a message for Asia who is the only one left in the mansion since everyone is away. "Sakuya" Ray called and Sakuya suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Yes, Master?"

"We won't be returning for dinner. If Asia returned, inform her that we went to Danmachi world. If she wants to join, just message me."

"Yes, Master." Sakuya nod and give them a bow before Ray and Kuroka walk into the portal.

———

On Danmachi World.

"You seem to adjust well to this world. You look happy, even." Sirin looked puzzled at Tanya after they left the Magic Stone exchange counter near the dungeon entrance set up by the Guild to ease the exchange process instead of needing to visit the Guild building every single day.

Tanya was silent at first while staring at the pouch of Valis. But she also pondered about that question. How her life had turned for the better since fleeing that world. No more Being X shenanigans, no more risking her neck in war for a good retirement and the most important is freedom.

"You could say, I felt much more free since becoming an Adventurer. It's a dangerous profession but the lucrative profit justifies the risk. All that I want now is to earn enough money for my peaceful retirement." Tanya answered with an eager face filled with anticipation.

Sirin nodded understandingly and asked about their business matters.

"So, tomorrow at the same time. You will try to go past Floor 14 and try to reach the Under Resort. I recommend going through the bestiary for Dungeon Monsters to learn how to fight them." Sirin suggested based on the performance of Tanya that she has the firepower to win but not the knowledge to exploit the monster's weaknesses and make her firepower useful.

"I will." Tanya mentally noted the advice as they walked out of Babel and into the streets of Orario.

But before they walked far, Sirin paused and turned to Tanya and looked at her outfit which is still the military outfit she initially wore although stripped of all the medal and ornament.

"Actually, let's buy you some equipment first." Sirin decided.

Normally, adventurers wouldn't be bothered about better equipment straight after their first dive because at that point, most new Adventurers cannot afford even the most basic gear and opted to rent cheap and very low quality gear from the Guild.

But for Tanya, she got into a Familia which isn't anything special as all Adventurers are required by law to have joined a Familia and received Falna as a baseline requirement before they are allowed to enter the Dungeon. What's different for Tanya compared to the majority of other newbies is that she gets into a good Familia.

Sirin alone is a Level 6 on paper, in reality she is much stronger than mere Level 6 and she rakes in Tens of Millions of Valis each dive she makes into the deeper levels. To her and the members of the Familia, money is nothing since it's too easy to earn it even without cheating like Ray minting Valis out of thin air.

Obviously, Sirin bought her the best of the best kind of gears. Made by the famous Haphestus and Gobinu Familia. Sirin bought Tanya a leather suit made from a Monster Rex hide that is flexible and light yet sturdier than metal with armor pieces made out of magic conductive mithril to cover her vital parts. Along her armor is belt and straps to carry additional gears like a dagger for both emergency use and digging magic stone and magic pouch made by Sirin that have pocket space to lighten her luggage.

Tanya had yet to learn the value of Valis. But the number of zeroes she saw on the stuff Sirin bought for her made Tanya gulp and wonder how long it would take if Sirin asked her to pay her back for this equipment.

Perhaps sensing Tanya's thoughts, Sirin smiled and tapped Tanya's shoulder. "Don't worry about the money. 12 Million Valis might sound a lot but I earn more from a single dive to Floor 51 and farm Cadmus."

"Do high level adventurers really earn a lot of money?" Tanya got curious and asked.

"It depends, really. While high level adventurers do earn a lot of Valis since Magic Core of higher level monsters with more Valis. However, stronger Monsters are difficult to kill. Most adventurers sink their money in better gears, maintenance of said gears and consumable potions. It's not unusual for Level 6 Adventurers to pay tens of millions just for the maintenance cost of a sword." Tanya hissed when hearing the last part.

"But well, that's for the normal Adventurer. For me, my power alone is sufficient to win any battle. So, I have no maintenance cost." Sirin shrugs and Tanya nodded, still remembering freshly in her memories how the lance made of shadow tore through all sorts of enemies without any resistance.

"Anyway, let's get back home quickly before they start eating without us." Sirin led Tanya to an empty alley before she opened a portal back home, a very convenient power that Tanya wished she had.

But when the two arrived at their Familia home, they saw two familiar faces.

"Dad? Mom?" Sirin looked at the two, confused as to why they were here.

"Your mother is eager to meet your new sisters." Ray answered her unasked question.

"Oh, I see… where is Sakura?" Sirin looks away from Kuroka who is cuddling Jack and Alice. She moved to the dining room as the dinner was yet to be served, which is unusual as normally Sakura is done cooking at this hour.

Ray stroll up to Sirin after he was ignored ever since Kuroka laid eyes on her new daughters. Without a doubt she wouldn't let them go until she cuddled them enough her scent rubs on them. At least she is happy.

"She stubbornly insisted on cooking extra when I offered to create the additional portion." Ray said before he did a little parkour to jump up to Sirin's shoulder.

"Sounds very like her." Sirin nodded.

"So, about Tanya. How is she acclimating to being an Adventurer?" Ray engages in chatter with Sirin since everyone else is busy. Abby, Jack and Alice are with Kuroka. Sakura and D. Sakura is in the kitchen making dinner and Tanya returns to her room to change out her clothes that are dirty from blood, dirt and grime from her test run in the dungeon.

"She is quite experienced in combat already and very capable with her own brand of Magic. Aside from knowledge that she is lacking and able to compensate with reading books. I don't think she needed any other help." She explained and added some details of what Tanya did under what situation.

"That's reassuring to hear." Ray nods and asks Sirin to continue supporting Tanya a little more before allowing Tanya to go on her own.

Suddenly Tanya came down the stairs and immediately set her eyes on Ray. "Sir Admin, can you give me a Falna update?" She asked.

"Sure." Ray answered before he jumped off Sirin's shoulder and followed Tanya upstairs, looking a little too eager as he went.

Meanwhile Sirin wondered why couldn't Ray just give Tanya an auto-updating Falna just like the one she and her sisters had instead of the usual Falna.
