As the situation finally began to calm down, Cedric was still sobbing over the amount of damage the room had taken. Papers were scattered everywhere, pillows had been torn, and furniture was knocked askew.
Matthew, seeing his friend's distress, walked up to Cedric and tried to console him. "It's alright, Cedric," he said softly, patting him on the back. "We can always fix up the room again. It's my room too, remember?"
"Yeah, I'll even loan you some points," Finn chimed in, attempting to help but only earning contemptuous looks from everyone else.
"Loan? You really are diabolical," Evelina sighed, shaking her head.
"What? I don't see any of you trying to help," Finn said defensively, crossing his arms.
Matthew stepped in to diffuse the tension. "It's alright, we can take care of it," he reassured Finn, though his tone was more about keeping the peace than actually needing Finn's assistance.
