The lively chaos of the market swirled around me as I lingered on the edges, enjoying others' suffering in the commotion. Adrian bounced between stalls like an overzealous bird, teasing merchants and trying to weasel discounts with his silver tongue. Typical. I thought-
He flashed a smile at Helen, who rolled her eyes as he added another useless trinket to his pouch.
"Do you really need that?" Hel's voice carried a familiar dryness. Yes, Hel, that's what we called her.
Adrian, ever shameless, grinned back. "Need? No. Want? Absolutely."
Caera hovered close to Sova, nudging him toward a stall of candied fruits while he brooded in his usual fashion. I caught her glance my way, her voice cutting through the place.
"You're going to stand there all day, or are you actually going to enjoy yourself?"
