The Beginning of Ruined Hart Quela [1]

"Sir, Spearhead Squadron, led by the code name 'Reaper,' has been consistently outperforming other units in combat against UM forces," the armed soldier reported to the Supreme Commander, his frustration evident at the inability of nobles to achieve similar success. He crossed his legs, awaiting the Commander's response.

"Ah, yes, the captain of Spearhead... Orphan, wasn't it?" The Supreme Commander paused, struggling to recall the name.

"It's Shinigami Azrael, Sir," the soldier beside him interjected.

"Ah, what a marvelous name," the Commander remarked, continuing to peruse the report detailing the achievements of the Spearhead Squad.

(BARRACKS UNIT 98 SPEARHEADED SQUADRON)

At 1:40 PM, on the 14th of the Hart Quela Calendar in the year 2140, Shin sat in a chair, engrossed in a language book. He diligently studied the text, a gift from Anny, continuing his quest for knowledge.

-Opps... No Hold on, The Captain was currently resting for a whole day frontline attack. You should restrained yourself from coming In this Barrack, Nobles...

A sudden interruption disturbed Shin's reading, prompting him to step outside. The sunlight accentuated his striking features: jet-black hair and crimson eyes. Dressed in his military uniform—a complete brown ensemble with a red scarf adorning his left arm, symbolizing his role as the Captain of the Spearhead—he exuded an air of authority and determination.

"Hey!! Shin, You think you have a rights to burn my men? Huh!?" He shouted to Shin.

This is Arthur, Noble, Green Hair with a pale blue sky eyes, he was definitely the one called a "Ikemen" or a Hot guy.

"I don't want them to die in hand of those monsters and also you know what happened when the UM captured their body right?" Shin seriously said in front of the Arthur.

"If you have any complaints go complaints to the Commander not to me." Shin intimidating said.

Arthur and his two cohorts begrudgingly retreated, unable to match Shin's resolve in their verbal altercation.

"Cap, you should rest first. We'll take care of guarding you, so don't worry," Kokoi, the youngest member of Shin's squadron, reassured him. Despite his youth, Kokoi displayed unwavering loyalty to Shin, willing to follow him even into the depths of hell.

Shin nodded in acknowledgment and retreated into the tent, attempting to find some much-needed rest amidst the chaos of their duties.

In the main unit HQ, as the chart was presented to the Supreme Commander, it revealed once again that Shin had been responsible for the deaths of his comrades.

"...This guy truly is heartless," remarked the Commander, his tone tinged with a hint of begrudging admiration.

"Consider this, Colonel Keiro," the Commander continued, turning to his subordinate. "What do you suppose was going through that kid's mind as he systematically eliminated his own men?"

"...Based on my experience and knowledge," Colonel Keiro responded thoughtfully, "I believe that Shinigami was solely focused on minimizing the enemy's forces and sparing his comrades from further suffering."

"I see... That's interesting one. A softy Reaper..." The Commander rub his chin thinking about his colonel response.

"Captain Shin, these are the dog tags of the five fallen comrades," Shin's men presented him with the somber tokens.

Kokoi, Shiri, Kayane, Bret, Mar... Your heroic deeds for this place will never be forgotten," Shin reflected silently.

With reverence, Shin placed the dog tags in his toolbox, a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by his comrades in service to their cause.

"Cap, how many dog tags did you get?" Kaito inquired of Shin.

"536, including the recent five," Shin responded, his tone carrying the weight of their collective sacrifice.

"I see... Cap, if the time comes and it's my turn, can you please put me with them too?" Kaito requested, his voice filled with determination and loyalty.

"Of course," Shin replied with a faint smile, acknowledging Kaito's request with solemn reassurance.

Hart Quela Calendar: May 29, 2140, 12 AM. The Spearhead Squad braced themselves for another imminent invasion by the UM forces. Each squad, comprising 50 men, took their positions, readying themselves for the impending onslaught. However, due to the tumultuous battles against the UM over the past two years, many of these soldiers—both the initial 50 and subsequent replacements—had fallen, not at the hands of the UM they feared, but at the directive of their own leader, Shin.

Throughout these Chaotic years, Shin had fought tirelessly, utilizing every resource at his disposal to eliminate the UM threat. Even when his weapons were destroyed, he pressed on, driven by the singular mission to bring down each UM and retrieve the bodies of his fallen comrades, sparing them from the fate of becoming monsters.

Now, the Spearhead Squad consisted of only 10 members, including Shin himself, a stark reminder of the sacrifices made and the challenges yet to come.

"Captain Shin," the static in Shin's ear persisted, yet he could still discern the voices of his comrades amidst the interference.

"Nice meeting you, Cap. Please let us rest painlessly," their voices echoed through the static.

With those solemn words weighing heavily on his heart, Shin readied his weapons in preparation for the impending invasion by the UM forces.

"Ahh... ahh... All units, do you copy?" A static-laden voice crackled from the main headquarters.

"Listen to me. At exactly 5 AM, those monsters will reach the line. Their numbers exceed a hundred thousand. All reinforcement items have been delivered to each squad. Additional reinforcements will arrive in 78 hours. Hold the line until then. That's all. May Lady Luck be with you all," Colonel Keiro's voice resonated, offering assurance to the soldiers facing a daunting adversary, the same one that had decimated Unit 86 two years prior.

"Protect the HQ," echoed the Supreme Commander's sole command.

Shin inspected his weapons once more, lining them up side by side. Suddenly, a familiar voice pierced the air.

"Shin," Arthur's voice broke through the tension.

"Hmm?"

"Can you promise me a painless death?"

Shin was taken aback by Arthur's unexpected request.

"Why?"

"Because I know I'm going to die here, but I want to go with honor. Please, if I fall in battle, grant me that dignity. I... I don't have the courage to take my own life or even raise my gun to my head."

Arthur's pride spoke volumes as he addressed Shin, their camaraderie evident in his words.

"Yeah," Shin responded solemnly before switching off the communication device.

"Spearhead, let's party in this hellish battlefield," Shin declared to his squadron, igniting a fervent response that reverberated through the air, reaching even the ears of nearby squads.

At 4:58 AM, every member of the squadron aimed their weapons at the approaching enemy, ready to face the impending attack.

[Targets was on 500 Meters] From Monitoring team.

"All units, fire!!!" The command echoed through the air, heralding a cacophony of explosions and gunfire as every soldier unleashed a relentless barrage.
