Rebirth: Rewriting Youth

A story I like very much is about a man who picked up a real gun on the road in the summer when he was thirteen or fourteen years old. Because he was young and ignorant and fearless, he pulled the trigger. No one died and no one was injured. He thought he had fired a blank shot. Later, when he was in his thirties, he was walking on the road and heard a faint sound of wind behind him. He stopped and turned around, the bullet hit him between the eyebrows.
