The two men blocked his path, and before he could use the gun, tossed it out of his hand.

The men laughed in his face. "Save her?" One said.

"You're going to be joining her soon," the other snickered.

They turned him around, and were about to throw him into the fire, when two successive shots fired from both ends of the road.

The men's hold on him broke, as they fell to their knees.

Ace didn't wait to investigate what had happened.

He jumped forward, and was about to push his hand through the fire to try and open the door, when someone pulled him from behind.
